Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing?

While I am observing the mining behaviors since yesterday, I found people jumped in and out causing the diff be swinging between 0.5 and 2, and for the last 12 hours, about 500 blocks mined, way below the targeted value. Given that, I am thinking to move the switch block to 245000. We are now at 242835, with this kind of swing, it will take 2 days to reach 245000. The key is that all mining pools need upgrade. What do you think?
The current 1.5 client set the switch block be 248000, and according to this rate, it may take 5 days to get there.

I think we need to think before make any changes, not after there are done!!!!! So was with 2-3-4 updates, and again with 5. Your suggestion is to upgrades twice a day? I think compromise is found, those who wanted to change the difficulty retarget cheme riched their goal, so they can wait a few days. We're not a rocket launching into space IMHO

When I fixed the code yesterday, I did not realized that the diff delays significant the progress of the mining. I was planning for a 2-day lead time. Anyway, I think we'll stick to switch block at 248000, and make sure everyone upgrade before it. After it, the IFC mining should be back on its normal track.

Please to confirm that the pool at http://treasurequarry.com:9844 is now updated to version 1.5 in readiness for the fork. I've also updated the Infinitecoin client on my home PC. One minor thing - when trying to "make" the qt version on Linux (Ubuntu) on my home computer It's still stopping with a message: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -loleaut32 If anyone is also experiencing this, remove "-loleaut32" from the LIBS line in the makefile, then "make" again and it should compile fine.
