So do you have any ideas for further development Fisheater or are you just going to say we don't need it, and wait until its almost too late like last time and pretend you can't see people making suggestions here?
No need to be negative man, I'll try to support the features as I can as the community wants it. But remember that pos feature is very different, I don't think it's an easy task to add without messing up the existing code. If you can find a clean way to add it, I may be able to consider it.

Also don't forget the great games we have for IFC, for example the coinbomb game:
http://coinbomb.biz/infinitecoin/

a very nice one, and does not cost much to play, so have fun!

Answering questions and giving opinions is a good start. You don't have to code the development suggestions to talk about them. I see a lot of people providing suggestions, and you just passing over them.

It's good that the community has a lot of suggestions of improvements. But everyone needs to understand that the community is the owner of IFC, not me. Yes I initially developed the coin, and provided as much support as I can to the community, and I will continue to provide supports. But I have my own work, I can not be in this forum all the time and answer each and every questions and queries and provide all implementations.

This is a non-premined coin. Yet when every problem occurs, I always get blames on why I did not act quickly enough or why I did a bad code, etc. During the retarget mess, I get different blames from different people some said I did not provide upgrade quick enough, some said that I provided too quick the upgrade while I should have waited. It is not possible to satisfy everyone out there.

What I suggest is that we need form a committee which determines which directions to take for IFC. And have a few more developers that I can work with them together and share the code/workspace etc. The community should take the responsibility of the coin, not only me (as I said I will continue to support). There are some very good members of the community that already contributed a lot to the IFC: nzdude, Heju22, monocolor, TECshare, RoadTrain, YukonCoinelius, TreasureSeeker, tokyoghetto, saamxx, zackclark70, to name a few, I hope that we can make it formal committee to provide directions and improvements of the IFC, and more active members please be involved in it. IFC is not my coin, it is our coin!

Well, let me echo some of the comments here, fisheater.  We appreciate your dedication to our coin.    No question.  Without your actions on the retarget debacle, IFC would have died a very fast death.  So, I consider you not only the birth mother, but the EMS Tech that kept it from flatlining.  So, you deserve this, sir:

I think that the root of some of the frustration is that while it is a community coin, only you have any direct ability to change things since you are intimately familiar with the coin mechanics themselves. You are, by default, the central point of information here... like it or not, you are the man!  That may not be what you wanted... but that is what it is... but, that can change.

I like your idea of a "council" of sorts to help weed through the issues / requests / enhancements.  Such a move would provide a fair leadership on the coin and its direction.  I'd support that direction fully.  Can we explore that further?

We already have a good forum for IFC only issues (infinitecointalk.org) or here.

And we already have a pretty good starting community to pull from.

Thoughts from others?

Fish there is no doubt that you are extremely dedicated to this coin and we love you for it. However I am inclined to agree with TECSHARE he is mentioning some vital things that this coin needs. Again thank you very much for your active involvement and I don't want to put pressure on you, I really appreciate what your doing.

Everytime that you post either here regarding IFC or the forums all you do is post negativity with no value whatsoever. You don't add to the conversation or anything, you just spam garbage that make no-sense. IFC is stable and maintained it's position both in reputation and in value. We as a group have continuously tried to be nice and helpful to you and we still are trying to be. If you have some form of issue please pm me privately or talk to me on IRC and I will try and solve whatever problem you are having.

All the giveaways that have happened in the forum are exactly that giveaways? So I don't really know how that can be a scam if your just getting free stuff. Project infinite, I have literally no idea what that was apart from just some members trying to contribute and they didn't follow through with it, they are not anything to do with the core IFC team whatsoever. The dev has no conflict of interest whatsoever only just a large amount of pressure however he has kept the coin stable and up to date. P2p pools are run by some outside sources and internal sources I still have no idea what your referring too. So I hope that answers your questions Smiley

Thanks c1010010 and Sustainable for the kind words. As I said I will continue support IFC as always.

What we need is a committee or a council to determine the directions of IFC, including services and enhancements etc. People with strong leadership, or good visions or programming skills please join, and let's make our coin better!

Anyone wants to step out and lead this effort?

I lack the skills and time to make any useful contributions, but I wish you the best of luck, IFC has caught my attention from the beginning and I love how active this community is.
Maybe just a suggestion, you could create a post here or on the ifc forum explicitely for suggestions, and on the main post, through editing it, always add the suggestions that are agreed upon by the community so with the time a list of suggestions will grow and everybody can see them clearly. then you can make a similar list for what is on the list of implementation, and the list will be expanded with the time and checked out when done. maybe something like that could provide clarity to where things are and where they are heading. Ah, also I made a suggestion on the ifc forum site but somehow no body read it. maybe the dev team can make a post for weekly updates, to keep the community up to date, what has been done, what is next, where are the problems etc.
Cheers!

A committee and id10tothe9's ideas of  suggestion and implementtion areas/lists sound like good ways to push things forward and help advance Infinitecoin.

I'm sure a lot of us have got some ideas for advancement, which would not necessarily involve changes in the client itself but things like helping to expand and promote the use of IFC as a payment medium.  Sometimes it just takes a bit of brainstorming or working together to get those ideas fully formed or actually working.

TECHSHARE, why not you take the lead to form the council?

The council needs to decide the directions and developments of IFC, possible items:

1. Expansion on the services that accept IFC. This is one of the most important aspect.
2. Expansion on the gaming sites. We already have quite a few game support, need more. This can be part of 1.
3. Promotions and martketing
4. Technical aspects: improvements needed, tx fee, portable clients etc.

Others please add more.

You need to create the obj dir first.
This seems to be true for all altcoins, because none of the developers bother to fix it.
