The pool has moved. The new address is

www.coin-base.org/infinite/

All your data and coins were transferred.
You must only change net to org.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I always have 8 active connections, but it does no good.

forked up, is right.

It wouldn't matter if it had 20 active connections, if all 20 of you are pointed to a bad node.  Be a bit more selective with your addnode= declarations, and see if that gets you anywhere.

If some one can come up with a permanent fix to this issue I would be willing to put some IFC down for a reward. PM me to discuss it if you think you can. By this I mean a new installer package which doesn't have this issue. It scares away new users even tho the IFC is there safe.

Evidently the 1.8 wallet is mining the wrong blockchain as the payout is 65536.00 when solo mining and most should know that has already been reduced to 32768. So I would suggest not wasting your time and energy (literally) mining this coin until it is fixed. You will not be able to use the millions of coins you have mined so easily. Hate to bust ya bubble for those who've thought they struck gold mining a ridiculous amount of coins at 0.000244137 difficulty.  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

On the subject of the block explorer, does anyone know of a service with servers in Vietnam that would be making regular requests for Infinitecoin's blockcount from the block explorer?  Their requests seem to be causing problems...I've already had to ban 3 Vietnamese IPs in the last few weeks which I presume all belong to the same service, and I may have to ban another unless I can contact them to get them to sort out their requests.

Updated:  I've had to ban the 4th Vietnamese IP as it was causing bad lockups with the explorer in the same way as the other 3 were.  If you run a service from Vietnam that has been trying to query the explorer, please PM me.

This sounds more like an attack than a service...

BTW, I've been mining IFC with TreasureSeeker's p2p pool, no problem at all. All the coins mined can be transferred to cryptsy and trade, I don't see forks.

I'd like to add this to my explorer (http://coinplorer.com) but your git doesn't compile properly:

sh-4.2$ make -f makefile.unix
/bin/sh ../share/genbuild.sh obj/build.h
../share/genbuild.sh: line 33: obj/build.h: No such file or directory
../share/genbuild.sh: line 34: obj/build.h: No such file or directory
make: *** [obj/build.h] Error 1

you are missing some files I guess.

If someone likes some free coin, check this twitter user out. He spends out 1.000.000 IFC.

I am arranging for a new client to be coded which includes a fix for the synch issue described here: http://infinitecointalk.org/index.php/topic,315.15.html

I think this might also be a good opportunity to address the transaction fees issue. What do you, the community, think would be the best standard minimum transaction fee for IFC? Remember this is what will pay the miners as the block reward declines.

Worked, thanks! But this shouldn't be required.
I installed the daemon on 2 linux boxes, I've one that doesn't want to download the blockchain (getblockcount=0), despite
addnode=111.161.77.213
addnode=67.193.198.104
addnode=85.217.147.117
addnode=ip of my other box

This issue doesn't seems related to http://infinitecointalk.org/index.php/topic,315.15.html
I tried to remove the entire .infinitecoin directory, but no effect.

Whatever the TX fee is, make it payable in something that is actually worth something such as LTC or FTC. Tongue
