Well, no electricity, and no internet connection would kill BTC for sure! You wouldn't be able to make any transactions without these.
Other issue can be all the countries in the world ban BTC, but this will not restrict it's circulation, as no internet connection do!

I also agree with you, bitcoin will die if electricity and internet network around the world also die. besides that there is also another problem that is the state forbids bitcoin, but this way will not kill bitcoin, it will only affect the price of bitcoin to be down.
bitcoin is not that easy to die because if the electricity and internet network are dead then man will fix the problem quickly.

Yes possible if government can pinpoint every node running bitcoin network.  It will be very hard and as long as there is one fanatic that keeps on running node for bitcoin, it will never die.  One thing to make sure that bitcoin will die is to shutdown the internet and I believe that is not possible because everything in the world needs internet access for transaction.
That is the hard part,a government cannot surpass his jurisdiction and get involved with other government across the globe, this is a decentralized platform and this is truly global and no one can shut down the network,i will just tell you this, have you heard about piracy, the government along with movie and music industry are spending billions of dollars to combat that and still they could not do that and you think that it is possible to shut down the bitcoin network if they want to.  Cheesy

To shut down the bitcoin network completely you must shut down the entire web which is not possible because that would a total nightmare. Lots of multi-billion dollars businesses now are fully dependant on the web and without it, they would end up in total chaos. thus, they'll do anything possible to keep the web running for their own businesses to grow further.

No one can ever shut down Bitcoin ever unless internet is existent in the world Bitcoin protocol runs
There is no such kind of thing which can stop bitcoin or can shut it down as there is no one who is having this kind of authority because of the decentralized nature of bitcoin. Bitcoin will remain there in this world and that no one can do anything like that which can result in anything unfavorable. Bitcoin is meant to change the lives of the people and that bitcoin will surely do in the future as well.

I was just wondering, what would it take for the Bitcoin Network to be shutdown completely?

When the internet is out then that can shutdown bitcoin. But that will be very hard to do. Everybody is using the internet. Even the government is relying on internet. So if ever the internet goes down they will find a way to be connected. They get more problems without internet than stopping bitcoin.

this bitcoin network is designed as best as possible for investment system services. which will be done by all the people all over the world. that's why this bitcoin should not be shutdown. because this is very detrimental to countries that are conducting currency sales transactions.

Bitcoin can cease to exist if all computers in the world stop working!))) Bitcoin is the future, but I do not like that everything is moving behind bitcoin! I very much wait for serious competitors and the market will stabilize! crypt world is at the very beginning of its development, it will continue to develop and exist for a very long time!

It is very difficult to be turned off the bitcoin, in any case it could be turned off in some areas, if for example there is no electricity, or there is no internet. But in the whole world it is very difficult to happen.

You are definitely right about that. The medium that is needed to access bitcoin is with the use of electricity and internet. But who knows as the world develops maybe perhaps there will be a way to shut the bitcoin down.

I think bitcoin will be shutdown because there are so many popular person or famous person that are involved here and I think they will not let anyone to destroy it or shutdown it. Even if there are so many professional hacker that wanted to destroy it there still a hacker that wanted to protect it.

BTC or any other cryptocurrency cannot be shutdown so easily, it's worth to note that with the millenial age
electricity is just one of the utility supply, by it's Government that cannot be put off or shutdown.

If the Electricity or Power Supply shutdown all over the world, then we will be in a dark ages.

Therefore BTC cannot be shutdown.

Can the Government step in?? I guess so

The straight answer should be a big NO. A government only can make rules for a single country, but can not stop it's using and supply. Due to its high demand, people will use it in dark web are somehow they want. People who invested Millions in BTC, they don't want to be destroyed this way. So, the government is powerless in this case.

the internet can be shutdown, but it requires most countries to agree on that, but it won't shut 100%

Decentralized network like block chain is nearly impossible to shut down. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Just because it is decentralized. No central authority, No central server , Bitcoin algorithm is running in thousands of computers.
If someone wants to shut it down, every computer must be shut down. Actually it is not possible.

But there is a small probability if one mining pool acquire more than 50% hash power.(Ghash got 51% of mining power recently. But they cut it down willingly)
If someone or a team has over 50% hash power  they can wage a denial-of-service attack against the entire Bitcoin network.  Undecided
Read here - https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/06/after-reaching-51-network-power-bitcoin-mining-pool-says-trust-us/

Block chain is safe and secure than any technology in the world.
Don't worry it will never be shut down..  Smiley

No, bitcoin can't ever be shut down because it lives on so many computers at once. Even if power was lost in the entire world, it would be back the moment the computers power back on.

I agree if we dont have electrixity and internet bitcoin will die because it digital coin.

Not sure.
Its possible to do it without internet. You need to spread it on memory cards.
No electricity in times of cheap solarpanels? Unbelievable!

Bitcoin face a risk by shutdown self from unpopularity of all the bad news propaganda! If no one use it, the price will falling until end and the coin is dead.
