in my opinion bitcoin is not only currency but also it is a asset for me.i am holding bitcoin to get some profit from it. and lots of people are doing that.so it an asset for them and also it is a cryptocurrency.
I think it’s both you can use it as an asset and also you can keep it save for your future so if you keep bitcoin for future purpose it can help you in your future and you can also use bitcoin for your daily expanse because it’s a digital currency and you can use to buying things such as food, clothes and even you can pay your bills.

The goal of bitcoin is to be used as an currency in the first place. At least that is how i love into love with bitcoin years ago. It is one of the best payment method whereby it is seller protection, it wont have chargeback, it wont have ridiculous fee, it wont takes days just to remit.

I agree with you and in the future, once i have built my own business then i will accept bitcoin as a mode of payment because aside from those things that you stated above. It is also great for me to accept bitcoin since its value is keep on increasing on the top and sooner than later it will become one of the major mode of payments in the world.

Bitcoin is a currency that you can use like money, but it is also an asset because all things with value is an asset, If your bitcoin price is highest or you invest your asset on bitcoin they became art of assets.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is both an asset and currency too.If anyone want to use Bitcoin as an asset,he or she will hold this for few days. After waiting some days,he or she will surely benefited. On the other hand,if anyone use bitcoin as a currency, it is really best for this.Because, Bitcoin is the world's first crypto currency. So,Bitcoin is both asset and currency

I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??
I will simply say Bitcoin is both asset and currency. An asset is anything of value that has future benefits whilst currency is a medium of exchange. Bitcoin satisfies both conditions because BTC can be kept in ones wallet against the future; at the same time the virtual money can be exchanged for say a dollar or any other legal tender

The latest proceedings about bitcoins suggest that it is a “valuable asset” rather than a “means of transaction”.

It's simply both.

Bitcoin is attractive as an asset to hold because of it's scarce nature. Bitcoin is also attractive as a currency because it's borderless, permissionless, and pretty fast and cheap (except when Roger Ver/Bitmain are spamming it).

So for some use cases like buying a VPN, bitcoin is the best currency.
i agree with that mate, its an asset and  currency its just like PHYSICAL MONEY we intend to put it in bank for safe keeping at the same time as a asset theres no difference in bitcoin or any other coin that we kept or hold as an asset and part of it we use for trading or gambling to be a currency

In my opinion, maybe bitcoin can be used as an asset and used as currency in the payment of sale and purchase of goods and services. As bitcoin communities around the world are increasing, it also causes higher bitcoin prices.

But do your goverment accept it?
In my country, there are many retailer already to accept Bitcoin, even, they accepted other cryptocurrencies for payment, including ICOs token.
However, the government has banned Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for using as a payment method in my country.

It all depends upon the people who make use of it and the concern purpose, because it serves as an asset as well currency based on necessity. When it s used for exchange purpose or for some desirable things it can be said as an asset. Same when used for transactions as well on payment it is a currency.

I consider Bitcoin as Liquid asset and how it can be liquid asset details are here;Assets are the resources which count as stability of organisation. There are types of assets like;Physical assets includes land, building, furniture fixture etc, other hand current or liquid assets which can easily convert in cash like,A/C Receivable, bonds etc.if organisation realize that Bitcoin is an asset and big resource to generate funds it will stable and give liquidity to organisation as well individuals.

Got my account back! It was hacked. Sorry about it :|

Bitcoin is an asset and currency. But as far as I know, at the begin, Satoshi Nakamoto just thought Bitcoin is only a currency and he called it is cryptocurrency by its nature is different the digital currency as Paypal.

Bitcoins is a digital currency but it can be also your asset at the same time because the value of you coins is growing and that what makes bitcoins good for longterm investment. Everyone is investing in bitcoins because of its currency.

With the unrelenting increase of value. I would classify it more as an asset.
It's value is too volatile to be a "normal" currency, though usage is like one.
