This issue has caused a lot of different opinions, some people think that Bitcoin is a currency but some people think it is a valuable asset. Bitcoin can be a valuable asset because it can make more profit in the future. But besides that, it can also be considered as a currency because it also exists as a means of exchange, trade. I think this problem depends on each person, we can treat it as assets or currency or both. This is just my opinion

In fact, Bitcoin should become a digital asset or crypto asset. Do you want to spend half an hour waiting for a complete Bitcoin transaction hash? Bitcoin's biggest problem is that it can not trade instantaneously like FIAT, so if it's considered as a currency for daily payments, it's not worth the money to use instead of FIAT. Beside that, you have to spend a bit more money to pay for each transaction from Bitcoin, so it's too annoying if you use it every day, right?

Mainly Bitcoin is a currency, but it is a different currency used mostly online and also with so many different features making it more attractive and easy to use compared to dealing with fiat and banking systems. But since its price is very volatile and keep rising highly with time, BTC is also considered as an asset, and so many investors are involved in  trading it.

In my opinion, this bitcoin is a digital currency that can be used for transactions but this bitcoin can also be a long-term investment asset for our children later because bitcoin has a very good potential for investment or store your assets for future needs or needs you

Generally the best choice of payment for a transaction is ETH. I have always preferred to invest in this coin. I know that the etheric will not lead in the near future and will increase in its price. the same I want to say that this coin is more stable from Bitcoin.

specifically, BTC created with purpose as currency. if we look deeper thoroughly. how can be currency cannot be seen as an asset anymore.
logically if you have any fiat currency whom have the price and you have these with lot amount it could be assumed an asset. regardless its price is volatility or not
it all of my opinions .

I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??
It seems to me I think that bitcoin is an asset and a currency at the same time.because the value of bitcoin keeps increasing. If you hold bitcoin for long time you can have more profit while you sell it.

For me Bitcoin is an asset, because for most legal purposes, it’s easier if you treat it as an asset. If you treat it as an asset, then you use all of the standard laws regarding assets, whereas if you treat it as a currency, it turns out that all sorts of special laws kick in which makes things more complicated for everyone.Legally speaking, there are usually pretty strict requirements that need to be satisfied for something to be considered a “currency” (i.e. it’s issued by a government). Since those requirements aren’t satisfied with bitcoin, it’s natural to for it to be considered an asset. If there was some advantage for bitcoin to be considered a currency, I’m sure that a lot of lawyers could come up with arguments that its a currency. But usually treating something as a currency makes your life more difficult.

Bitcoin is surely more an asset than a currency. When you start to deal with Bitcoins, you can invest the cryptocurrency in the ICOs or other business.

I think, right now, bitcoin is more appropriately called investment assets in digital form or called digital assets. And I think, people prefer bitcoin as investment asset instead of using it to buy goods or pay for services.

Payment using bitcoins is great but the fees and the transaction time is making a lot of people think that it is not worth it.

Bitcoin is mostly used as an investment and not a currency the most reason people say is that it is very volatile having doubts whether they will accept it or not since it may dump and it's high fee.

Bitcoin nowadays was mostly used as an investment asset. As the use of bitcoin was limited now and only few accept it as a rule of payment, people used it as an investment which gives them more profit. It was less consider as a currency now because mostly you must first convert it  before you used it.

BIG WINNER!

It's simply both.

Bitcoin is attractive as an asset to hold because of it's scarce nature. Bitcoin is also attractive as a currency because it's borderless, permissionless, and pretty fast and cheap (except when Roger Ver/Bitmain are spamming it).

So for some use cases like buying a VPN, bitcoin is the best currency.
I personally think that btc is good used as an asset is not used as a currency, because each country already has its own currency.

Bitcoin is currency for me . Because i can use Bitcoin almost every country and i can exchange it to other currencies and i can buy Bitcoin with other currencies too , because of Bitcoin is currency for me.
Generally Bitcoin atom can be simultaneously and assets, their currency. The fact is that for many users Bitcoin already is even a means of payment, because they have the opportunity to pay bitcoin on their accounts ..

Most of the bitcoin holders treat it as an asset whether to hold for future value increase or to trade against other coins. But I think It's better as a currency, as the rates are fluctuating you'd be better off spending it as and when you earn it.

Why is it bad? I think Bitcoin and other crypto are more deserved as a digital asset than making BTC as a means of payment. because their prices are very volatile

Even though each country has a own currency bitcoin still comsider one of it because just like fiat and dollar they have the same usage but it was just limited. But for me bitcoin was really an asset where we people tend to invest here as we see that it can give us high profit when it price pump.

Actually it was both, we can consider bitcoin as an asset and currency but most of us used it as an asset of investment because it gives profit to us everytime its value rise. Just like fiat and kther currency we can also used it for transaction or transfering money. But still bitcoin usage now was just limited.

Well there is no doubt that bitcoin can defined as both currency and asset but i think many people here in crypto world still defined the bitcoin as a currency, and i agree on it we all know that with bitcoin we can used it fot our transaction, we can buy load with bitcoin and bitcoin has so many function.
