last 21st of January I've downloaded the Hawala android app.
I've added my wallet as staking source (I've 396 HAT)
yesterday I've tried to do my first stake...
set gas value as standard setting on the hawala app: gas price: 30 gwei, gas limit 60916 wei
But transactions always failed (out of gas):

Set the gas limit to 100000 and gas price to what ever https://ethgasstation.info recommends. It will use only as much gas as it's needed (probably won't use whole 100000 Wei). Yesterday I had two transactions failed because I used 60000 and 70000 gas limit. When I set it to 100000, it used only 73000 and the transaction went trough.

I've done "add stake"...and I've added my whole 396 HAT
so now I've in "active staked amount" 396 HAT (while before I've zero hat in that field)
should I deduce that I have not gained anything since January 21st ?
I was thinking of earning only by adding my wallet on staking source

If I understood your message correctly, you have installed Hawala wallet on the Jan 21st and now you're wondering why haven't earn any incentive. Well, in order to earn incentives, you must stake the HAT tokens. You won't earn anything if you just hold it in the wallet. Please read this blog post about staking in general and the staking guide in this blog post.

Anyhow in my opinion Hawala should realize a guide on Youtube for this staking wallet. It will be more clear.

Another question:
if I desire to transfer my 396 hat elswhere (since now they are blocked in my wallet for stake), I need to  Click Cancel to remove tokens from stake...right?

You can click on the Claim button after three days period passes to earn incentive. If you click Cancel, you won't get any incentive because incentives aren't earned automatically. You have to claim it. So, if you need to move your HAT tokens elsewhere, first claim your reward and then cancel the staking. You can claim incentives after 3 days, 6 days, 9 days... Just make sure you don't claim it after for example 5 days because you'll get incentive only for the first three days period.

Why wouldn't it be real? They are doing this bounty to popularize HAT token trading which is good for them and for the Hawala.Today project because it brings more volume.
However, since it's their bounty, they should be contacted with questions about it.
