Since your latest UI update a few weeks ago your site seems to be leaking memory. A lot of it, especially on the "Margin trading" tab and a bit less so on the Stats page (in fact, almost every single page does so but these are the worst ones). That is to say if I keep the Margin tab open for a mere 24hrs it is consuming about 1.2+ GB of RAM, almost 15x as much as when it was freshly loaded. The Stats page within the same timespan is using about 4-5x as much as when it was freshly loaded.

I tested in the latest Chrome stable but I'm pretty sure it happens in any other browser.

My firefox has been quite RAM hungry lately and when I stopped using bitfinex in firefox, it's no longer eating up my RAM (the other browser doesn't get to show the leak because I changed my behaviour to "log in, trade, log out, close tab"). So I can confirm there must be some kind of leak somewhere.

Seems fixed since today or maybe yesterday. No more killing tabs daily. Thanks BFX.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Not sure yet whether it's a display bug or a 'bug' bug, but I currently seem to be unable to place 'margin funding' offers.

I enter the details and click the button and it says "Offer placed" but nothing shows up in the "Unfilled offers" area. Also nothing visible on bfxdata.

Oddly though, if I click "cancel all", the first time it says "All offers cancelled", but subsequent times, "No offers to cancel", as if there was something there the first time.

Edit: Scratch that, it just took a long-ass time to appear in the Unfilled Offers list.

Little bug?
This is weird, I set to "notify" when placed one USD borrow bid offer and by now received some 15 emails, as if there are partial fills of the offer. However, these emails do not contain the amount filled (as such emails used to specify), it just says offer is taken AND nothing shows up under "Unused Margin Funding" on my account. The "Unfilled" section also does not reflect any partial filling (it says "active" and the amount is as originally entered, not less). My guess is that the bid/offer is NOT taken, but then why notification emails keep coming now and then.

I haven't yet tried their api in respect to funding, but it is a big pain in the ass even to manually put simple buy-sell orders in the trading section, while through api everything works like a charm (though the api itself is a hell on its own)...

Hello Dave Scotese

You are looking at the correct logs. It seems some of the recent margin funding log entries were not included in the logs correctly, (the underlying margin funding itself was handled correctly). Our developers will take care of it as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

The page at https://www.bitfinex.com/history/ledger/btc shows that I have paid out BTC as the funding cost for short positions I have held in the past.  I would like to review the times and amounts of BTC I borrowed, which incurred those costs.  The page at https://www.bitfinex.com/history/used_taken_funding seems to be the right place to find out how much BTC I have borrowed over time.  However, the data only includes entries for my borrowing of USD.  Am I looking at the wrong page?

I am looking forward to the ability to review my BTC borrowing.

Bitfinex has its bank account in Taiwan, right?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-declared-illegal-in-taiwan/

Is this move real (verified) and if so what is the impact?

The latest changelog describes it in more detail.

Anybody knows how "Tradable Balance" is calculated?

Yesterday I was able to trade on Margin about 1.5 BTC and today I can't even margin trade 0.1 BTC.

Liquidation Balance is like at $1200

It is weird sometimes when you have losses and even sometimes even when the price has moved in your favor to overcome those losses into profits. I am not 100% sure how it works other then they taking your equity and dividing it by 30%, however the displayed amount is often less then this. I think it might not update as often as the equity balance updates.

Is there a formula posted somewhere? How accurate is the Liquidation price? If it says 1200, I won't get liquidated at 600, correct?

The net trading balance (this is the closest thing to a liquidation value that I can find on my account), is based on the current market conditions. If you were to execute a market order to close your position and the market moves quickly then you could get a worse price then what was previously displayed. The use of limit orders can help you avoid this however if you are using margin then they can give you a margin call at any time and/or force you to liquidate your position at the market rate at any time.

I'm unable to withdraw BTC from my Bitfinex account, getting the cryptic:

"Error 500
Something went wrong.
We have been alerted and we will address the problem as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Is anyone else having issues with BTC withdrawal?

I had no issues with my withdrawals a few weeks ago, probably they are just under heavy load with the recent price spike. Just try again in a few hours and/or send the support a mail.

I withdrew about 6 btc earlier today with no issues.  Probably something small they just need to fix.

Or maybe not a ban:
http://www.coindesk.com/taiwan-finance-regulation-bitcoin-ban/

Still you think Bitfinex would have bothered to comment about the original story.
