why is this interesting? intuitively that seems pretty obvious to me. short term outlook for BTC is pretty bearish, therefore why build up long positions using margin trading? if you look at historical borrowing rates at bitfinex they where very high when everyone was bullish on BTC (e.g. the big rally at the end of 2013) |

Actually, you're WRONG. People are borrowing, just look at the BTC flash return rate pool: It's empty. Now look at the market statistics page. We've borrowed all the BTC, every single one. If you only look at USD then yes, you are right, nobody is borrowing USD to go long. This is not very strange given that IT'S THE BEARMARKET (did nobody give you the memo?) Whoa didn't see that. And historically the USD borrowing would go up with the crash as people expect a rebound. But yeah i was referring to USD, maybe take a deep breath before you post next time? |

Bitfinex isn't the place to short guys, you've had fair warning. BTC spikes 100-200 pts down and they'll flip the kill switch. There are alternatives. I've liked BFX but oddly I've made all my profits on the short side on other exchanges. BS ...

Do you have 2 factor authentication enabled? If not (you should), did you click the link in their email confirmation? I think they may have changed their BTC withdraw policy within the last two weeks: "For security reasons, withdrawals will be automatically processed only if you have enabled OTP authentication (Account Security menu). Otherwise, you will receive an email with a confirmation link to approve the withdrawal. Large withdrawals will be processed manually." |

Selling CFDs on 796 xChange in HK. Service has been stellar, but their English is sketchy. No issues at all during this last week. Raking it in. 10x leverage, no 'kill switch' like BFX. I was never able to cover my short Monday w/ BFX ... had to ride that position all week. BS. |
