Is there some kind of problem with BFX?  Did they not adjust any procedures since the last flash crash where the fiat ran out? How many others had all bids go unfilled as that big dump on Stamp happened today ...?
If you're referring to what happened on Bistamp 1 hour ago, then the only thing that explains that situation is this: only limit orders on Bitstamp can be filled on Bitfinex.  Market orders on Bitstamp will not make it to Bitfinex. So if that was a market order on Bitstamp, limit orders on Bitfinex would not have been matched up with it.

Disclaimer: I may be totally wrong.

I understand it that way that BitFinex orders are only executed against orders in the BitStamp orderbook. BitFinex orders are not entered in the BitStamp orderbook themselves. A sudden drop, like the market sell today on BitStamp, wasn't on the orderbook, so BitFinex users couldn't have bought at $520 either way.
Which makes me sad. But I didn't have "surprise orders" up anyway.

Question about wire deposit:

Quote
Deposit Notification
Amount USD

By clicking the button below, I confirm that I have sent a wire transfer with the correct transaction reference and I accept that some fees may be applied by the banks involved in the transaction. No fee will be taken by Bitfinex.

What to enter in the "amount USD" field? Should i just enter the amount i enter on the bank's site? But then if my bank takes a fee, the real transferred amount is less than what i entered on BFX, won't that be a problem?

One of the suggestions on my list was that BFX get a bank account in the EU that European customers can use. SEPA transfers are less of a hassle and cheaper (no bank fees). Almost every other exchange has it.

BFX does not have an account in Europe, no SEPA.  I am highly against Bitfinex creating accounts in EU or US or even Canada, risk of seizure or closing your account is so much higher.  We don't need Bitfinex to become mtgox.

Looks like the Gox insiders are selling at Stamp, not BTC-e. Having btc-e up so much is pretty unusual.
(yes, the 'gox insiders' comment is fud/speculation/sarc...., but it's still strange).

When will Bitstamp liquidity be available again?

Tomorrow about 10-11 CET. I base this on when my SEPA deposits usually hit Bitstamp and assume the funds BFX sent will hit around the same time.

This no-usd-on-bitstamp thing has happened before and usually hits us traders late in the weekend since .. well you know, no bank transfers in the weekend.

Yes, I get it. My question was why access to BTC reserves are cut off when USD reserves run out. Rather than traders serving to re-balancing their reserves, we are left with inadequate liquidity on both sides.

What is happening to the USD Liquidity offers ?
The minimum is now 0.9485, with no evidence of big  movement of the BTC quotation.

Anyone know the reason ?

Nick.

When will Bitstamp liquidity be available again?

I understand how Stamp USD reserves got depleted watching price movement yesterday. However, I do not understand why access to BTC reserves is cut off when USD reserves run out.

Why not use the BTC liquidity to balance your reserves, rather than leave traders with a paper thin order book for an extended period of time?

30-point spread
between Stamp and BFX

Circuit Breaker thrown again ?

Traders on http://TradingView.com
complaining that BFX trades not going through.

With these liquidity problems
are shorts able to close ?

can you guys like maybe not start
the liquidity problems FUD conversations,
stopped me from going short with
liquidity problems FUD and big spread difference
from stamp.

Other Traders mention their shorts closed,
just slowly.

Here's an ideal,
just as hosts have an up-time indicator,
something of the sort for BitFinex would be good
to let us know if the platform is working 100% or not.

Never know when the BFX platform is working or not with all the FUD.

Neither one of you guys have any idea of what you are talking about,
makes no sense i'm looking at the order book and everything looks fine, chalk it up to FUD
ruined my trade today posting all this FUD of yours, the orderbook is processing orders fine.

Is there a place for people who are already singed up and registered with Bitfinex to enter my referral code? I've given it out to a few folks, but they can't seem to find a place for it?  Thanks.

this morning bitstamp trades didnt go through; no info on bitfinex order book about that - the spread was huge. at around 11 bistamp was going through again.

now spread is around 6 USD, orders not executed @ bitstamp. no info on the orderbook about that.

is this intended, that bitstamp price cant be taken if bitfinex price is higher/lower?
and the way its achieved is to only make market orders route to bitstamp? that would be less than funny..

edit 22:50: seems that bitstamp was reconnected: huge sells @ bitfinex, no one on stamp, price is in sync again

Never know when the BFX platform is working or not with all the FUD

and it's a fact that problems have occurred before,

some type of "System / Platform Working" indicator would be ideal.
