I dont think it's not a good idea to invest ALL of your savings, there's this saying "dont put all your eggs in one basket". Although its good that you consider investing but I suggest carefully reevaluate, it would be better if you save portion of your savings as is, we wouldn't know what's life instore for us so better be ready and have that "emergency fund" besides the reason why we invest is to be ready for the future.

Hello guys! I am planning on investing all my savings (12500$) in cryptocurrency, so I would really like to hear your opinion. My current plan is to split it in to 3 :
-50% bitcoin.
-25% ethereum.
-25% litecoin.

I am investing the money at the next dip.
Please post your opinion guys.

Edit: I should mention that this is for a longtherm hold, about 5-10 years

Sorry for my bad english, but I am better reading it than writing it.. :p
I like your method. I have also been investing in 3 types of coin. But I recommend investing 50% in ethereum

I dont know why you had choosen the eth and ltc since there are more and better coins then those two, eth is used for ICO purpose and speculation, it had reached 0,11 btc and crashed a lot since bitcoin jumped to 3000 dollars, i dont see any interest into it besides the smart contracts. Litecoin is good to transfer money, faster then bitcoin and cheaper, but i dont see it with more potencial to jump. The only safe investment you will make at this stage is invest all into bitcoin, even others saying to split, or search for some 5-10 new altcoins wich you believe has potencial to grow.

its too risky to invest all in of our money because we still need that money if in case we need to buy more amount if the coins is going down so we can add another amount. i am not suggesting to do this because if all the coins price is going down, we can not do anything and we can getting big loss. its better to have the quarter from the total money than go for all in so we can have another money and save it for later.

Yes that is right to say that it is too much risky to invest all your money in one kind of business, Although bitcoin is a very safe ans trusted investment, but still we cannot be so much sure and clear about bitcoin price because no one can predict the price of bitcoin so easily. In fact it is too much important to invest your money in different places, so as to reduce the risk of losing your money in one time.

Nothing is safe even on bitcoin and we do always know the risk behind it which anytime bitcoin would crash its price which would really lead up on total wreckage specially we did decide to put up all of our savings which i do agree on most people said here that this is a risky thing to do.If we do really mean on investment then dont focus on just one and diversification would always be suggested.

I've invested 1/4th of my savings and I think that's a lot. But I intend to learn more and more about crypto/trading so I expect some profits. If not then that's fine too because I wouldn't lose all of my savings then. Undecided

As almost everyone has said, don't go all-in on crypto, you may need your savings for some unforeseen emergency in the near future, invest a sensible amount, 50% or so and see where that takes you. Other than that your split across 3 major coins looks okay.
We cannot deny the fact that there is risk in investing into digital currencies but there re many cases of even those who took risk and became millionaire with these currencies especially with bitcoin. So here in this market especially that of bitcoin, you need not to worry about the size of investment you doing because it is a rule that you will get refunded by bitcoin many more times than your original investment.

That is a good breakdown for the investment that you are planning, but as you mentioned it will be all your savings?
and everything is allocated to crypto currency?

I would suggest allocate some of your savings into a fiat investment for some sort of assurance.
Yes bitcoin is promising but it might be too risky to invest everything that you have on it.

A lot of advice, but i'm still not understand why people trust own money to bitcoin. Just invest in real product, hi-tech.
people believe in bitcoin that’s why they are investing into the bitcoin and the thing you are talking about is unknown to the world is it comparable to bitcoin I don’t think so and on top of it bitcoin can be accessed and used all over the world it has a promising as well as profiting nature so comparing it with some rubbish thing is stupidity and no one is competing to bitcoin as this time because it is unique.

In my opinion by investing all savings in cryptocurrency no good idea, I think maximum 80% of all savings and other 20% keep on fiat. Because we need to keep Fiat for urgent needed, and when this happen and the price of cryptocurrency down then we should be  withdraw it. So that we are in loss. In my research good coin for longterm investment  is BTC, ETH,WAVES and DASH by portofolio 50% BTC and other 50% for those altcoin.
I think you should divide it into three parts, the first part is for your investment this is the half of your saving or 50%,but make sure pick the best cryptocurrency to invest second is for your saving make it 30%, and for the third for your emergency need and make it 20%
I am not in favor of investment all the savings in bitcoin because one should keep some local money in his bank account for immediate use and the other reason is the reliability and security. Bitcoin control is in other hands therefore many people do not trust bitcoin because of the fear of losing and I think they are right although the controllers and wallet maintainers have made their sites very secure but still there is a fear of backing.

Bitcoin and ethereum is a promising selection, but no one can tell you today what are the best coins to invest for a longtherm hold of about 5-10 years.

You have to regularly read the news and observe the chart and if something substantial will happen you have probably to exchange your selection.
Never choose any virtual currency for long-term investments, because there is no guarantee that they will survive and grow over such long periods of time. Choose a safer investment goal, it could be gold or land.

It is good if you invest your money for long term.
But if you want to gain high amount of money you need to take little risk.
You should invest in potential low marketcap coin.
Few of these are loopring,Ox,Kyber,Etp etc.
Other than that you can add some NEO and Qtum in your long term investment.

The break down which you mentioned is seems very good strategy. What I observe in bitcoin is the rate is performing better then Ethereum so why you want to go with that you can better start trading with that so you will be get backup from bitcoin to your trading income. Investing all in one as a saving is not advisable and you have a idea about it so you try to analyze more by yourself don't depend on anyone's idea if you feel and confident enough do it other wise keep it as it is when you get more knowledge and confident go for investment.

Never invest all your savings into crypto currency as it is too volatile and you might not know what's gonna happen next.
Besides that you must always keep 10% - 20% of your savings to buy more assets if there is another dip after your recent order.

If you are a long term planner you can go with the strategic also one more thing why you want to invest in cryptocurrencies only one is enough that also best one bitcoin is enough rest you can invest in other things to be safe side always keep in mind the mind that all in one place will collapse so your investment should be balance and support each other.

I was not agree with that because I was not yet truly believe that bitcoin are for long lasting, however I can't delete my trust in bitcoin. I still believe that bitcoin value are incredibly increasing in the next month so even I can't invest all of my savings in bitcoin. I'm pretty sure that I earn income because I have enough savings in my wallet.

I think investing 100% is not at all necessary.

First start with your 30%, and after a period, put additional 20% if required. (To buy on dip. If necessary 10% more can be added.)

So, a total of 60% of your savings itself is a considerable risk. But, the returns may be higher.

Above all, it should not hurt you if anything goes wrong. That is the limit of investing.
I would invest 100 percent of my saving into bitcoin at least for few months because the experts are giving green signal. They have predicted its value to rise up almost 4k dollars more within a coming 5 to 6 months. Buying 1btc now means grabbing 4k dollars after 6 months and it is not a bad deal.

Is this possible to make such a profit by any other way? Not at all. During these months, there will be a dump for sure but patience is the solution for such situations.

Sorry, bad idea. But that's your money and I can't do nothing about it. I suggest you to see your strategy again, split is good but 25% litecoin is bad. Until now LTC has bad price action and low volume, is not good for investment/ trading. LTC part ( 25 % ) replace it still in currency not cryptocurrency is the best suggest I have. Never replace all your money because real market has their own answer and maybe you'll not like it at all. Have a nice investment.

Yeah it not good idea. So don't invest your full saving. You will get the more profit for the investing. So first you will understand the investing the business process. Then you will invest the saving for 5% don't invest your full amount. It not conformant to get the profit. So save 5% it will help to you for some issue.
