I want to say that there's no doubt that trading Bitcoin and altcoins are of course still profitable but only to those who know the trade, conduct due diligence before entering trade and know how to place the right trade. If you have sufficient time on your side and ready to do the necessary research and keep learning then you can opt for day trading otherwise select well researched coins, buy and hold for short to long term.

I know a lot of the current exchanges that I used for trading, such as Poloniex, are still around but aren't really being used much as before.

Yes Poloniex is not like before. They have lost. They are not launching any coin since three months and they dropped their rank in exchanges. Try Binance, it has a lot number of coins and will be tradable like before.

Definitely, recent bullrun of alcoin markets at least proved that. It's never too late join with good projects. Make confident in your project by a little survey and buy on a dip, then hold for a while. So, Get on it.

It is extremely profitable and also extremely risky! There is a chance that you can earn double, triple or even x1000 your money in an instant but there is also a chance that you lose everything in an instant as well. That's how trading is. There are people that got lucky like investing into something weird like XRP that just got pumped really outrageously this past weeks. It jumped from 20 cents to 3 dollars in just a few days, that's really crazy growth.

Basically altcoins are more profitable than bitcoin. Bitcoins are a good investment, but it can't go 100x or 1000 easily in a short timeframe like altcoins can especially those that are sleeping for ages, under the radar and very cheap.

Both are profitable but altcoins can give more profit as the price of bitcoin is more than the altcoins. Altcoins with less price can give more profit buy altcoins more in numbers and then sell the coins as the price varies that will give good profit.

Holding some altcoins has really given me huge profit within just few days than I would have imagined than even trading itself. I am sure a lot of people trade, but not everyone sure have the time and there are just sometimes, that you may make the wrong call and when you are not there to get out of the show, then you may end up accruing huge loss.

With holding, you know this is going to be a long term trade, and you really do not bother much about the fluctuations. Trading though is highly profitable if you have a good strategy and skills to pull it off.

I think that it is still profitable. I mean it is every year that people ask about the legitimacy of bitcoin and altcoin when it comes to trading. Fortunately, it is still effective. Perhaps to those people who say this are not really fond of doing trading or doesn't understand the whole concept of trading at all.

Yes it is still profitable like before but you need to be cautious about the coins. Selecting coins is more important now. Select good coins and you can get good gains like before.

Completeley agree with you, nothing changed but the hard pumps. In the old days, we would not see this much price pumps in majör and top altcoins. Nowadays, adding couple of billion dollar market caps became very easy for the top projects.

For now,holding is a lot more profitable than trading. I admit that trading altcoin right now is very hard because the market is so bad

If your planning to buy btc and just hold it it's still a great way to gain but you don't get more btc by doing that. So if you trade alts you will earn money and in the same time get more btc. And it is best (for me) to trade alts rather than just hold btc. (Usually i have a bag of btc to hold.)

Trading is far more profitable than just holding plus you get the chance to manipulate how much you are going to gain. It is not easy but if one puts hard work and determination how trading works then that person will have chance for a good adventure in trading. Investing is a risk but trading holds much more risk, it may be frustrating because the trading prices easily change but the challenge is there. Earning in signature campaigns and then trading is what I do to earn and  accumulate bitcoins and for me these two methods make a good combo in earning bitcoin.
