Is trading Bitcoin and other alts still profitable?

Trading Bitcoin is not profitable unless you have extreme patience and large capital to invest. If you can wait you just have to buy the dips that occur yearly and profit from the highs that also occur yearly. More than the lows as you can tell by the price;). Alts have extremely high risk vs reward. Only a few get lucky and when they do are they even disciplined enough to convert it into BTC and hold it long term?

I was a trader awhile back, I want to say about a year ago now and wanted to know what the current state of the market is for the traders that are currently trading to this day? I know a lot of the current exchanges that I used for trading, such as Poloniex, are still around but aren't really being used much as before.

I wasn't able to profit much but would like to hear how people are doing these days. Thanks a ton!

I would say holding bitcoins and trading altcoins are profitable at the moment. I did trading few months back mostly on altcoins made some profit and converted all to bitcoins as holding bitcoins doesn't require any research and analysis I'm just holding it currently made more profit than I made few months ago on altcoins. Bitcoin trading can loose you money unless you have very large amount of bitcoins in your wallet.

Day trading require large amount of investment and it is very risky as it's volatile market and you'll also need luck in your favor to earn decent profit. It's better that you research about the coins before investing and hold it for long term to earn enough profit.

I am not sure about altcoins but trading in bitcoin is very impressive and make rich in few days and just three things are required from the investor revenue, motivation to work, and determination and if one has all these things bitcoin will bless him more than anyone and those who had earned in past are just capable of these and altcoin are still new for world so don’t take risk just stick to btc you will be blessed.

I bought siacoin when it was 325 satoshi and I sold immediately as soon as I realized it would fall and then I sold my lisks for the same reason, see that siacoin was 700 satoshi and had many people who bought at this price of 700 satoshi and today siacoin costs less than 100 satoshi , you already imagine the loss that many people had, the same case happened to lisk, I bought lisk when the price was 0.00074 satoshi and then had a positive news and everyone did the same (Pump) and lisk arrived at 0.00160 satoshi , see today lisk returned at its price of 0.00064 satoshi. make trade of altcoin is complicated and if you buy at the peak you lose a lot of money

Of course trading will always be profitable as long as you know what you are doing
and how you control your greed. Aside from mining this is the best way to get your
bitcoin, maybe difference from before is more and more altcoin that are worthless
are now in the market.

Waves is not a good project in my opnion, rather than invest your money in waves and in my personally I just interesting to invest in the very hyped ico and why? I make 4x from kyber, 8x from zero, A lot from omisego.
The promising ico project will guarantee rather than waves. As you can see a lot of people are not interesting to use the waves platform.
But yesterday I was buying centra @$0,3 and this time the price already increase more than 50%

For me, trading bitcoin and altcoin is still profitable but we need to change mindset ans strategy about trading itself. If we use trading like old time pattern, it will give us stress and panic. So, we need to change that. First, mindset trading changed become investment. meaning just take one, hold until the price comes up. Second, only using long time period to find the best buy and area sell. Do that and keep practice. Good luck and have a nice day.

At this phase? I'd say that holding is a lot more profitable then trading and It's probably safer but  If you decide to trade then do it for the long term and with coins with a good roadmap, getting involved in some pump and dump useless coins will only make you lose eventually.

I think it all depends on the person himself. If he is good at trading and he actually thinks that he can do well in the world of trading, then there is nothing bad in doing trading. In fact, trading is the best thing to do but only when you are having a very good grip on each and everything. Otherwise, there is no point of taking such kind of risk and you should go for playing a safe game instead.

But isn't having the skills kept aside in the situation when the market is not right is good too? Analysis of market is always first thing one trader and safe player should do. Just playing hard isn't the game in the world of crypto currency otherwise you won't get a single penny at all.


Yes saving up the money into crypto form will always work because there is no loss of the money for keeping it. You get more and more profits when the time is right and just look t the current situation where millions of people might have earned millions by their old investments. Increasing price of bitcoin now made it difficult to purchase a good amount of bitcoin. There are so many other altcoins which have good potential and whose price are more expected to increase more. Therefore for trading purpose trading such altcoins are also profitable, but for that you need to have good experience because trading without good experience is too much risky. In fact in trading we cannot only depend on our luck only but we need to have good experience and trading skill also.

Of cours they are profitable, as long as you dont invest more than you afford, Better start with small amounts of money, if you are new in the cryptoworld, and slowly you will gain experience. So be brave!

You will need also a patience and a good amount to invest when you want to trade on altcoin and there are some coins turns to deadcoin so there are risks involved when buying a coin you will need to research unlike buying bitcoin

If you are new to trade its better to go with bitcoin because the risk in altcoin is more but some coins will give good bump.Bitcoin trading always good profits and the price of bitcoin also increasing everyday so it means profit.Like you said the trading needs good investment to buy more bitcoins and the price will go up soon which also gives profit.Buying then selling then buying bitcoin if you trade like that the profit is not enough so buy bulk amount once and trade for good profits.

for the current price of btc for about 7300 USD and with upward trend of price movement i think it is not good to go into trading to gain profit but instead holding it for at least 1 month is a sure profit. even with the upcoming segwit2x this 25th of November, bitcoin price is unstoppable. then why not try  to trade  with some other altcoins, it is a good opportunity to buy altcoins now, most altcoins are bearish this week and soon be become bullish in 3 weeks or so.

I agree, much better to hold bitcoins for long term instead of doing trading because of the price swings lately. Only those who are more experienced and really know what they are doing are really going for trading. Lately the price has been in the roller coaster, specially today, jumping from as high as $400 then suddenly dropping at $100. I believed there's someone manipulating today though that's why there's so much swings lately.

Don’t make a mistake even good traders can be destroyed by the market, the market does not care about who you are or your experience, it only cares if you make the right call and making the right call right now is probably a nightmare, so the best thing you can do right now is to hold and wait until all this crazy movement of the market diminishes.

Bitcoin is more profitable now, you can also invest in alcoins because altcoins are down now but you need to have an extra capital and patience as well when you do it because we never know until when altcoins are down.

Bitcoin is more profitable now, you can also invest in alcoins because altcoins are down now but you need to have an extra capital and patience as well when you do it because we never know until when altcoins are down.

Both market are really profitable but since atlcoins are down right now for me it is better to invest on those good altcoins and hold for good because this will surely soar higher in the coming years together with bitcoin. Because this technology will surely use by everybody in the future, so be more patient.

Immediately i bought 1 btc without thinking further. I am thankful to those who adviced me at right time, my btc is now nearly 1.6 Btc.

That's really awesome bro,now i am also planning to some buy bitcoins and hold it for long term so i think i can enjoy my future without worries.I am totally new to the crypto world i planned for all the three ways to earn more btc like trading,mining and holding but now i think that holding the bitcoin will give more profit than others.
