No back office and no communication protocol is required to operate the charging station: the transactions are exchanged directly without the use of a charge card or subscription.

The IOTA charging station operates completely autonomously and takes care of communication and payment with the end ‘user’. The meter values are stored every 15 minutes in the Tangle, which ensures reliable and irrefutable administration.

This technology might be a perfect fit in the future connected and fully digitalized world. The exploration of this technology in the e-mobility domain could also provide insight for other (connected) sectors like the energy sector.

The charger is equipped with hardware to setup a TCP/IP connection with a car, after which the payments and data exchange can happen fully autonomously and machine 2 machine. It uses the charging cable and special hardware, which is also used for the newly developed communication in e-Mobility ISO 15118, between car and charger to setup this connection.

The IOTA charger will be available to the public for charging. If cars that want to charge are not equipped with the required hard- and software, they can still simply charge their car by sending IOTA tokens directly to the charger using the normal IOTA wallet.

Yeah and when people then tell me: "Ah, Iota is already so big, huge market cap etc. blabla." Sure, but I think this is nothing yet. It really seems like Iota will be the worldwide used M2M-currency in the future, as it looks for now. Then this is just the beginning, if even. This could actually easily surpass Ethereum with real life usage and adoption. Probably even much more but I don't want to speculate too much.

IOTA created its hype on december 2017 and january 2018. But then the trend went down in flames. After it, we saw a bear market on cryptocurrencies. This also didn't let IOTA to shine once again.

My expectation is still big from IOTA, let's wait and see this.

A lot of supposition on your part, but that's come to be expected. If you love or hate an investment, you are doing it wrong--though I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are doing it wrong. Doing it wrong leads to FOMO which is the most powerful emotion a human can feel, even more powerful than love or hate (my guess is the combination of envy, fear and greed is too much for the average speculator).

At the end of the day, either IOTA becomes a global standard or it doesn't. Like internet protocals, most everyone that uses a standard has no idea how that standard works, let alone feelings towards the developers who created it. IOTA will get to a trillion+ dollar market cap because that's the liquidity required of a global IOT standard--no one really cares if crypto speculators get rewarded for figuring it out faster than the industry that will depend on this standard.
