Hey Alten,

How is the box for heat? Any issues? Uptime etc?

No Issues. It's been really good to me. It is a solid product.
Wish I had my kilowatt meter, but the exhaust air is not much
warmer than the air going in. i think that is a good sign.

Finally put it back up for sale like I said I would other than its a week later:
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/41878-54-gh-s-bitforce-single-shipping-now

Thanks. Finally found your reply in all the trash... was going to delete and re-post the question yet again.

Why are you selling? Need more BTC for parts on the other project?

Found it nevermind.

Quote
When the others come, I will be over my power budget. They were only supposed to be 60W miners; so, a few will need to go.

Looks distinctly... old, scratched and used, not a nice polished surface. Maybe it's just the photos...

Have fun mining! Make sure to update with power usage.

Now you say that, I kinda see where you are coming from!

I reckon BFL held off are and still holding off sending out LOADS of miners because they themselves are mining a MAJORity of them first >.<
How many times do I have to say this. If BFL wanted to do that they would have taken the ASICMINER approach: design, manufacture and use the miners themselves while selling shares of the company to the public.

Feeling generous? Like my post? Leave a tip at BTC: 1NZJ8cceqEiKDZGAJged2vNGCyfFMUEYPt

I guess making multiple orders the first day and paying extra on shipping has paid off.
Received BFL single today and took some screen shots to share.
I'll admit that I did receive an email when it shipped from BFL asking me to share PICs and I agreed.
This has made my day. Good luck to all those still waiting. I'm still waiting for many other BFL Miners I have
ordered for friends, family, and myself.

Forgot to mention: I had lent my kill-o-watt meter to a friend so I will have to get back on that one.

Powered with two PCI-e power connectors (same as the GPUs)

Stop at Fry's on the way home to get a good power supply.

Here's the miner setup and working away. approximately 50+ GHs (average looks around 54, but
need to let it run longer to know for sure)

That's funny. A year ago, the 50G did the job. I think the Supplier is completely outdated right now. Keep the being for 2 more months, you will regret this.

They have my first order marked as fulfilled, but didn't ship it. Hard to say what's going on but some clarity would be nice.

I think it should be Very Well Noted, that the First BFL Single, Is being put up for sale Immediatley.
Showing what I believe to be Doubt in the product, my bet is that the seller is worried about the lifetime of the product
I have yet to see a running BFL asic that doesnt put out HW errors

Here, let me help cure the speculation.

The hardware is really nice. BFL took a long time to ensure we get a good high quality product.
I do admit though that I would have happily taken any POS months ago that worked vs. a solid product today.
I do understand that wasn't an option for them and is part of the reason I'm glad they are selling their chips.

My rationale behind selling: Getting my long awaited miner didn't help with the frustration and anxiety dealing with
the over promising and under delivering from BFL as a customer.
I would rather see the reminder of that pain gone at the moment. Also, I will be over my power budget of a 1000 Watts
after the others come so a few will have to go eventually. It's currently summer where I live with 110+F weather and increased electricity for
the summer rates. Don't forget the house cooling costs. And most importantly, I believe it will sell for more
than its potential ROI at this point because there are those that gotta have the hardware at any cost RIGHT NOW.
I don't want to deny them the opportunity. Oh yeah, and I'm curious what is the market rate for one of these ATM.
Aren't you?

Sorry for rubbing anyone the wrong way. All the negative feelings of being a BFL customer kind of culminated at the birth of this
thread and the ebay listing. Just couldn't keep my cool I guess. As I've said before. Can't wait 'till all the ASIC drama is over with.
It will be the day anyone can order top of the line mining hardware at marginal cost and have it delivered within days IMO.

Been running This bitforce single @~55gh/s for two days now..
500w cheap psu blew its own fuse.
Have an 800 watt 80+gold one now, just hooked it up a few Hrs ago.
Killawatt says 260watts running, +- 10w for fans
80w idle
running about 65°c in  80°f room
Fairly loud and high piched.  I'll DL a app for the phone to measure how loud later.
Have a raspberry pi on the way.
Had some driver issues, got it going with bfgminer and Luke's uninstall re-install driver.method.  had been running an ASICMiner USB before.

Typical. You can't even stand to see the facts. You have to hide from them.
Then again, if you BFL fanbois were not so resistant to facts, I wouldn't have to post them over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum.

I have a very sensitive fact detector, it can detect one particle of fact in 100,000,000 units of bullshit, I've run it over your posts, the needle never even twitches.

You should get a catchy slogan in your sig or something "Fact free since 2003!"

Except when I post facts, I link to them like in this post and in this post and this post. That way, I can link to them again to dispel nonsense from folks like you.
When you complain that I never post facts, you of course could not supply citations to back up your assertions. Here I am having to post the basic facts to yet another freshly minted BFL fanboi. All you have is one witless comeback, which is more sad than funny since it is defending BFL (who has once again stopped shipping product). It has been 130 days since BFL started shipping and they have not yet shipped 130 days worth of orders.

The first one was basically an "Apples grow hanging from trees you say, well here's a picture of a pineapple plant, therefore, those apples can't grow like that."

The second two actually seem to be supporting BFLs official position, so therefore there were actual facts available

Your math sucks if you're counting from Luke Jr's single.

No. But thanks for playing. To stick with your crippled analogy, I posted what a healthy apple tree looks like. BFL claims to be a healthy apple tree too, but they don't look like other healthy apple trees. In fact, they look decidedly unhealthy to the trained eye. Which is not to say that you can't get a few apples off them. The apples might even taste good. But don't bet the plantation on that tree delivering.

The second two actually seem to be supporting BFLs official position, so therefore there were actual facts available
Your reading comprehension fails. The first post demonstrates that BFL's refund policy was at odds with PayPals (and other major retailers).  I posted links to PayPals refund policy which refunds you in the currency you paid and using the exchange rate at the time of purchase (not at the time of the refund like BFL was doing). Now the question is moot since BFL has suspended all refunds (which is a violation of the FTC's rules but that is another thread).

The second post was to counter an assertion that BFL just mingled all the funds together and spent them on development and that is why they couldn't keep the BTC. BFL said they would keep all pre-order funds segregated from operating funds. If that is so why would they convert the BTC when they might need to refund it?

It has been 130 days since BFL started shipping and they have not yet shipped 130 days worth of orders.

Your math sucks if you're counting from Luke Jr's single.

Good catch, I don't know why I typed 130 instead of 100. Low on coffee I guess.
Let me fix that, It has been 100 days since BFL started shipping (april 1st) and they have not yet shipped 100 days worth of orders. That is still a terribly grim statistic given how fast the difficulty has been rising.

For those thinking they can't receive a refund, you may want to call Paypal (assuming that's how you paid).

The surprisingly nice Paypal rep said that normally they don't offer buyers protection after 45 days but because the account was a long standing account they would do it (opened in 2005).  About an hour later, the status on my BFL order was changed to 'Refunded'.

For those of you who have ordered less than 45 days ago and would like to keep the Paypal refund option available to you after 45 days, you need to contact Paypal before the 45th day window is up and let them know you haven't yet received your order.  That way they will track the status and your refund will be eligible after the 45 days are up.

That is great info. PayPal does have it's advantages sometimes.  Wink
I know, I know, it is heresy to speak such praises of PayPal on bitcointalk.org.
