For me the answer is obvious. Bitcoin is a more reliable value. This is happening even now. In the long run it will be even more pronounced. The mechanism of inflation underlying the Ethereum will never allow him to become promising in the long term. He's probably already reached my limit.

of course Bitcoin, even though the next 5 years the price of Ethereum will go up,
but its increase will not be able to compete with Bitcoin price in 5 years....

If you plan to invest longterm, best way is to split the portfolio between few coins. This way you are hedging against the loss if your initial speculation is wrong.

What is most profitable to invest for 5 years ?BT or ETH
Bitcoin has proven to be the most profitable crypto for the long-term investment. In 5 years BTC will still be king, and Ethereum could find some tough competition along the way, though ETH does have the biggest market cap and the most supporters after bitcoin, so there's no doubt it will be profitable. If you're undecided, I would recommend you to invest in both but with a larger % of the investment on Bitcoin.

I will still invest in bitcoin, because as you can see as the time goes by the bitcoin price is still increasing. Although ethereum has also a promising price and has a good potential of being a good crypto currency, it will not surpass bitcoin. So for me bitcoin is more profitable than ethereum.

I think bitcoin would still win specially in terms of reliability and credibility bitcoin would earned the trust of most investors and people aside from that its market would improve far more than today.

Most of us here would really agree that bitcoin is the most reliable in terms of investment for longer term purposes, and as what you have said for five years there is no doubt it is one, but to think that ETH is also secondary or alternate investment, well it could also not be neglected.

Yea like the other guy said.
Split. It's waaaay better than putting everything on 1 coin.

Who knows, maybe eth/btc will crush and you'll regret.

ETH has a really great potential but after 5 years i think bitcoin is still dominating thearket for me bitcoin is just starting and it will still on top this upcoming years on the other hand we can see the potential of ETH but to think that it takeover bitcoin i don't see it coming ETH concept is based on bitcoin it's like father and son. Bitcoin is genuine and ETH is an innovation and based on my experience the genuine one will always be on top.

The best investment choice would be to go for both! Don't bet everything you have on one horse, 5 years is a lot in crypto and a lot could happen. I see both bitcoin and eth doing well 5 years from now, but how well is anyone's guess - impossible to predict!

Pretty sure that ETH will just increase its value alongside with bitcoin after 5 years as well as its growth and adoption, but sometimes there's something bugging me and make me kinda doubtful.
The price of ETH now always gets crushed by bitcoin overtime and there's no sign that ETH could rise from its falldown. The price always at $300 like someone is controlling the market LOL.

obviously bitcoin in my opinion.
because it can be seen from the graph of bitcoin prices in the last one month has increased very rapidly while the ETH did not experience an increase in the slightest.
from there it is clear that bitcoin remains the best.

It would be good if you could do both don't put all your eggs in one basket you might regret it on the end , personally I will invest more on bitcoins because it's already proved it's worthiness throughout the years but eth is also a good choice and yun can expect a good result also in the end , so actually I'll go for both of them

I think Ethereum would be more profitable if the current BTC rally stabilizes, of course if you look backward definitely bitcoin is the prime winner, but in future if bitcoin's price really does slow down and people are shifting back into alts, Ethereum would raise as there are some much ERC20 tokens adopting its powerful contract with potential ideas and was left unnoticed, and in fact people are actually USING/CIRCULATING Ethereum rather just trading in other currency pairs.

There aren't significant movement on ETH/fiat pairs since last year, and i think bitcoin downfall is much more likely and ETH would be focused instead if that happens. $300 per ETH is still cheap considering so much projects are depending on their blockchain mechanism.

But either way it's still realistic to put a 50/50 on both for 5 year investment, diversifying your portfolio is really important to mitigate risks.

my opinion it depends, how many bitcoins will be sold by some devlopment with bussines bitcoin finance, while users eth has a lot buy tokens or ico, some dev eth start paying dividends, this fierce competition between eth and bitcoin.

Bitcoin for sure. if you buy it today at $7,000 it will be $35,000 for the next 5 years in which its times 5 your investment. As you can see more and more are buying bitcoins because they see the promising future from now that looks like nobody can stop bitcoin in five years. Everyday bitcoin reputations and trust keeps on increasing, the investment keeps on coming resulting to price value keep on increasing so no doubt, it will reach the speculated value after 5 years.

Both were profitable curreny in my opinion but i prefer about bitcoin rather than ethereum, if you wanna to invest and you can try to divide your amount. Just spent the more amount into the bitcoin. For 5 years there will be another halving for bitcoin and casper pos for ethereum. it brings a lot of value.
