Bitcoin vs Ethereum after 5 years?

In my opinion, Ethereum will be more valuable than bitcoin in 5 years.

Many of new cryptocurrencies are based on Ethereum and they have to pay the gas fee for each transaction.

It means that when the Ethereum based cryptocurrencies are getting more valuable, Ethereum will be more valuable as well.

Bitcoin seems the standard until now but there are many alternatives now and it will be more and more competitive.

Ethereum is not the only platform available for the new tokens. A lot of the newer ICOs are using platforms such as Stellar Lumens and Waves. And after 2-3 years, only a select few out of the 2,000+ tokens will survive. We need to see whether they are using ETH for the transactions or not.

IMO, talking about these two it can't be said with any assurance which one will be doing better. Because eth has inflationary model; unlimited supply, in the long run it's sustainability is really doubtful. But it solves many of the problems BTC doesn't. Which would be running decentralized apps and other noncash transactions. However, BTC is limited in supply and much much more popular and trusted.

I think both are profitable. But if told to choose one. I choose bitcoin because I'm sure bitcoin will soar in early 2018. If for 5 years maybe bitcoin will get higher price.

That's true but eth price won't be as big as bitcoin in future thats why investing in bitcoin should bring more income than eth.

If there exists a word cryptocurrency even after 5 years surely ethereum will be holding a much higher value compared to the present price of ethereum. It might reach the present value of bitcoin or even higher than that. After five years, an user who has single bitcoin might be listed under the millionaires group.

I would be inclined to do a 50/50 split between the two as really you would want to try and hedge your investment. BTC and ETH seem to correlate quite heavily though at the time being but better safe than sorry

No matter the years, Ethereum can never beat Bitcoin, Bitcoin will still remain the king of crypto currencies. And Bitcoin is more profitable than Ethereum.

That’s true, I don’t think Ethereum will in anyway beat Bitcoin, because Bitcoin has advantage over it as he first crytptocurrency in the market and also draws lots of investors. If I’m to make an investment for five years, I will definitely be going with Bitcoin, it is the best in this case.

But if compared with something else like Litecoin, I might choose Litecoin over it. Why I’m making this decision is that Bitcoin lacks some good features Litecoin offers its investors.

Of course bitcoin. I think coin that will rival bitcoin is BCH , because BCH  price has going up significantly in just a few months. And coin which I think profit besides bitcoin and BCH is etherium. Because etherium many used to rate another coin Exchange

I do not think BCH is going to rival bitcoin at all, right now people have those illusions because bitcoin has not yet activated the lightning network, people think that BCH is going to be the chain that is going to be the fastest, but once people begin to see the low fees they are going to pay then there will not be any need for bitcoin cash and eventually all that money will come flowing to bitcoin once again.

Bitcoin value probably will increase maybe 100% from nows value, well that's only my prediction but no one really knows what will happen in 5 years. And for the ethereum of course the value will also increase may be it will close to the bitcoin value but it will not overtake its price.

I guess it will be still in favor with favor for Bitcoin after 5 years. Although it is true that the market value of Etherium is increasing at this moment, the rate of increase on Bitcoin is much higher. The market value of Bitcoin also is way more expensive than ETH and since the increase is continuous, I highly doubt that Etherium will be more profitable than Bitcoin.

If you are to invest the same amount of money to both of those cryptos, I think ETH will give you the edge because its market price is still low at 1,000$+ than that of bitcoin's and that is if the do have the same percentage of price growth. But if we will consider dominance, BITCOIN will always give you a a better profit because bitcoin is known and tested to come back whenever its market price plunges down.

I'll still invest in ETH, because the price of ETH is going up over time. Although the BTC will continue to grow and is already a mature cryptocurrency, it will be of no value to us. So ETH is more profitable than BTC.

In 5 years time ethereum will be more profitable but when you say amount or value of either two i bet bitcoins will still be on top. The margin between this two coins will be small yet investing in bitcoin would still be a good choice for investors due to its reliability and success.
