Safer is Bitcoin, most profitable depends the moment, so it's better to always stay with Bitcoin as it's the safer and sometimes it's the most profitable too. It doesn't mean you can't invest in AltCoins too, just make sure to don't sell your BTCs or the biggest part of it to buy AltCoins, that would be a mistake. I believe AltCoins are a moment trend, Bitcoin remains on long term, that is the difference...

bitcoin and ethereum is good for long term. I think ethereum is more safer than bitcoin becuase the price quite stable and other altcoin like ripple, neo is also good for longterm.
I think bitcoin is safer than ethereum although bitcoin price is too volatile, at least if bitcoin price jump, then the price will increase so high. but ethereum could be our investment for a long term if we can get the lower price because if ethereum is increase, then the price will be high too. the other altcoin is good too and maybe you can analyze xvg, ripple, waves, xem if you like so you can have another option for a long term.

Long Term: Bitcoins Short Term: Altcoins Bitcoins is the first cryptocurrency, and that makes it the most trusted and used amongst all the other altcoins, so its the most safe to get hold of. However, since the price is so high right now, don't expect it to increase tenfold in the next few years as it would be a little unrealistic, but possible though. Altcoins, or Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), can have potential if researched upon, which makes it more profitable, however, there are many scamcoins revolving about ICOs and altcoins, making it more risky than having Bitcoin. It is up to you, but if you are new to BTC, I suggest getting some Bitcoin first. I think this one is the best explanation for me. Both are good if you will have this kind of strategical approach. As an addition always give a special treatment to bitcoin because it's already the best one.

Bitcoin is safer and more profitable because it was the first cryptocurrency that was introduced. And has the highest returns on investment up until now. There are a lot of Altcoins being introduced but none of them have gained the massive acceptance and high returns on investments like bitcoins.

for the long term you should choose ETHERIUM and BITCOIN as both coins are the most dominant to expensive later on if your altcoin requires good observation and should be very careful in choosing because it has a very high risk

Bitcoins is the first cryptocurrency, and that makes it the most trusted and used amongst all the other altcoins, so its the most safe to get hold of, I think it might be safer to invest in bitcoin, but altcouin's investment is likely to be quite lucrative. Better go in BTC fist and then take some % of that and go for alts, so you may lose or gain in short term and have profit either way in the long term.

Hello family, I need to take an informed decision on this issue
With the present challenges with the blockchain technology and its present congestion ,
Is it still safe, wise and as profitable as before to start a fresh bitcoin investment?
I'm thinking that investing in a number of the other several altcoins might be much better
Pls I need your thoughts and opinions on this....thanks
Bitcoin should inevitably have long term stability. However, if you're looking for short term gains, i would choose the altcoin option and make an informed decision based on your own research.

I think that bitcoin is safer. alt may give you a nice profit and you can make your money a few time bigger but it is a risky game. The bitcoin is very high but i think that in the and it is more safe for the long run.

Well, In the history, Bitcoin is one of the first cryptocurrency that really exist and being trusted by many here in internet and social world. Bitcoin has been invested by a lot of investor and reall being legal in many countries. Bitcoin has been used in many transactions and very easy to make it a real money or fiat. Unlike to other altcoins, many of them are not legitimate cryptocurrency and wanted to scam people. In holding and getting profit, Bitcoin is the best currency that you must use. Invest, hold and earn.

There is opportunity in both bitcoin and alts to make profits. I think it depends on what the objective and strategy is. Bitcoin being the mother of all cryptos is probably the most popularly known and therefore most trusted. I think its probably right to say most new people to crypto would only buy in to bitcoin rather than any alts because bitcoin is what they've mostly heard about. For this reason, it probably is also perceived as being the most safe to buy in to. Bitcoin is more profitable in the long run, when bitcoin rises, it gives a steady and pretty healthy return for the holder (if bought during dip)whereas, some altcoins can provide more lucrative returns in a very short period but considered to be higher risk than bitcoin.

Definitely Bitcoin or Ethereum. There are some altcoins that might be more profitable short term, but the other two will be around for the long term.

No one can stop bitcoin and that is why i choose it because it already build a foundation of trust between us in which bitcoin is the most promising investment that as we can see today the value in the market which is fast moving. Unlike altcoins, only few of them are most trusted in which most if them is a crap. I hope the altcoins owner will do a lateral move to make their coins very promising too.

Well, since these two is all about investing, expect risks all over the place. The only thing that matters is your strategy. It al depends on how you play with the coins, and how well you do decisions.

Both Bitcoin and Altcoins have a certain degree of security and both have a certain degree of profitability, which means you can invest in either one as long as you have taken the risks for each into consideration. It's safe to say that BTC is the correct route if you are interested in long term deals, whereas the best choices for short term are ETH or LTC.

The trend of 2018 will be Altcoin, undeniable that Altcoin is growing very strong recently. So you should consider investing in Altcoin and Ethereum as if long-term investment in this coin will be profitable in the next 5 years. Ethereum in 2017 has increased by nearly 10000% compared to 2016, predicted that this coin will continue to grow rapidly in exchange for 2018. The advice for you is to invest in Ethereum instead of Bitcoin.

In my opinion, If you want a long term investment go to bitcoin because bitcoin is the mother of cyrptos. it is more stable and safest in all coins. but if you want a short term investment then go to altcoins like ethereum or litecoin. altcoins have the high profit.

The safest option is as usual a diversified one. You should have in your portfolio both Bitcoins and well chosen altcoins. This is probably the both safer and more profitable solution.

It is expected that by 2018, Altcoin will grow rapidly, especially Ethereum, Ripple, Dash. Investing in such Altcoin will bring high profitability because of the current exchange rate is low. The investment in the Altcoin as above will bring high profit because the current exchange rate is low. But the risk is greater than your investment in Bitcoin. So if you decide long-term investment, invest in Bitcoin, and invest in Altcoin or other ICOs to prepare for the Index.
