Obviously yes! Bitcoin has been accused of being a scam or some sort of pyramid scheme in the past. But today it is the most sought crypto currency in the market due to its increasing value. There is no denying that it has been for the last few years before Bitcoin became a tool for illegal transactions and money laundering. Still remember BTC-e closed for money laundering cases, on the dark web Bitcoin deal reaches millions of dollars in 1 day.
Is this controversial? certainly not. Since the beginning of the block chain system is decentralized so everything is based on the network and we are fully in control of our finances. If we want to use bitcoin as a good currency, then everything becomes no problem, we can use daily business transactions, but if we use bitcoin for illegal transaction purpose then sooner or later you will go down for it.

Yes. I believe so too. But i do not think that satoshi or team satoshi built bitcoin to be used as a tool for crime. I believe he wanted it to be something that gives us freedom from the chains that binds us to the watchful eyes of the banks amd governments to have full authority and control on us.
