in 2-3 months, people will look back at these prices and wish they'd backed up the truck.
So as I read this thread most of the members are optimistic about we hitting 1k mark n next few months, I hope they all are right..!  but i'm quite skeptical about that happening in April may be later .! I think btc will hit $8k this year. And a close above $1k will happen in the next 1-2 months. No way in hell BTC will hit 8K this year.... if it does I'll buy you dinner |

or what ophra winfrey thinks.
or what a hundred junk-journalists say when they need to come up with some quick column fill.
the price of crypto is determined by supply, demand, and utility.
for the present* it will continue to rise. *5-10 years
thats the short version.

We would probably be back at $1000 now if it wasn't for eMpty Gox... Trend was moving nicely in that direction; BTC is very tender to bad news... I don't know about other folks, but one of the largest hoarders of BTC is my biggest worry (the gov't).

No, it really isn't? We're still below 1000, and the discussion or rather the question should be if we'll recover to 1000 and if so when. I'd say it'll reach a thousand after around 2 months because the rate seems to be slowly changing. |

its present in the public mind now. i dont doubt that it will hit 2000 sometime within 18mos.
i used to wonder if it ever might hit 20 and then level off at ten or fifteen... ha!
demand for posession of btc will grow as the trend [in the sense of the public mind] catches on. in the near future anyways 1-5 years.
i dont expect it to stay at 2000, but then i didnt expect it to stay at 20.
so, yeah... it will go up until the economy is saturated.. which is a ways away... and then,....
....could write a book... but not now.

If it weren't for Mtgox, I think we would have at least held the $800-900 range and $1K would be easily attainable with ongoing development of btc and altcoins.
