I doubt that. BTC is just trending up slowly.

You have to mention any target. $1000 is not impossible after 50 years. The price of every item is increasing every year.

It's no longer a question about the the value of bitcoin rather than the value of the dollar, if there is too much dollar in the market, and the demand on bitcoin raised, then it could even go further than 1k, Although this is a possibility it's unlikely to happen soon.

You just need 1 whale like investor that is going to invest half a billion and there we go.

Pretty much, we might be at $5k+ (under 200 µBTC/USD) after such an event, but the trouble is, the mechanisms for such a trade aren't available in Bitcoinia... yet.

If the popularity would stay on the current level (which it won't) and the inflation would be about the same as it was in the past 50 years, it should take about the same time again. But more likely it will either die or skyrocket in value much higher.

Well one day. Investors have a ton of money (the big ones), once they focus on BTC it will skyrocket.

Why?
I don't see any reason why it should.
Nor it should not.

Bitcoin might fail before reaching 500 usd.
It's still a beta.

Well bitcoin actually was only developed as a proof-of-work. It wasn't optimized for public use. That is why there's usch a huge blockchain size, why it takes so long to download it and why the transaction take pretty long to confirm (the funds in them to be ready to use without any problems).

Yes, it will hit $1000 one day when the price of a burger will be $500. lol

A burger is about $2 bucks. Twice that is $4 bucks. Are you saying Bitcoin will go from $120 down to $4 in value terms?

Your logic is sound.  But as I am surely you are aware, he was just pointing out that inflation will raise the value of everything over time.  Obviously the dollar ratio was not factored into his post.  But you definitely reveal an interesting observation.
