Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

To protect your account from being hack just simply don't trust to other people specially to the person that giving link/site 80% of them are hacker. Avoid the website without http. and don't log in your account from that site too. Tips read a newbie thread so we can learn more 😊

Trust no one too much.

Cold storage is the best way to do it. Anything else is riskier.

Cold storage is one way to prevent something like this from happening, and that would require you having access to some hardware which would support a wallet, which would be relatively easy depending on where you are located. Once you have the wallet on the hardware, just keep it on there and never access it so that there is no way that someone can steal from it, even if they have something on your computer which could steal from your wallet (also assuming you never have a virus that actively attacks your computer, which is possible).

It's not hard to prevent something like that as long as you are not stupid with your storage, and most people aren't, so just stick with common sense and don't try to cut corners when it comes to digital security and the like.

The first step is to take the security of your coins with the utmost respect, remember you are your own bank and no one else is going to protect your coins but yourself, a cheap way to secure your coins is to install a secure operative system, do not use windows even if it is a legit copy it is full of bugs, use Linux, now you do not have to use Linux as your main OS, just use it to store your coins, then download a wallet and install it an move your coins there, store your seed and private key and disconnect that hard drive from your computer, by following those simple steps your coins are going to be a lot more secure.

do you have a link for that youtube video ?? cause I really doubt that someone who lost 20BTC in the past will still lose 50 BTC after that , he should had learnt the lesson

obviously the best way to store your bitcoins is with offline wallets , paper wallets should do fine
but even with online wallet it's not easy to hack bitcoins , I have been using online wallets for like 3 years and still haven't had a single problem
so as long as your computer is clean and you aren't clicking shady links your wallet should be fine

but still curious to see that youtube video

Exodus is a good wallet. Maybe he was scammed due to phishing sites or he logged in his account on a computer with key logger. For you to avoid it, do not click links that are suspicious and enable your 2FA or two factor authentication. If you want a safer wallet, you can buy hard wallet like ledger nano or trezos wallet. Hard wallet are the safest.Hope it will help you.

Well, first of all don't trust all what you see or read on the internet not all people can be trusted or can be trusted easily. Probably, the youtuber just wants to have likes or attention but for sure we don't know if its true or not. This is why you don't want to believe what you always see on the internet. For you to be protected from hackers make sure to check the reviews of the wallet that you are using. If you are using a cold storage always check and protect you computer if its safe and no one can hack it. There are many ways to do, me myself just started this year and I really haven't encountered someone hacking my BTC hopefully will never happen to anyone.

If you have larger number of btc you should keep in hardware wallet. Ledger nano.

If you are daily trader or frequent trader then you must go to safe hot wallets like  coinbase . Coinbase i recommended

we all need universal power and cyclist of Everything
-2023 would most likely be as bearish as 2022-

Do not just download any wallet without even checking if there is a virus in it. For instance when there is a coin that is doing airdrops and will tell you to download their wallet but upon downloading, you downloaded the virus as well and this will get your information from your computer. If there are key information that is being kept in your PC like username and password then there is a possibility that the hacker will be able to access your accounts and get your money.

Always bookmark the site that you are always using so that you can avoid searching for it in which case the top one that would appear is a phishing site so you will also be hacked in this instance if you will just log in directly without checking the URL if it is the legit site or not. To be secure, bookmark the site and just click it when you want to access it.

Use a hardware wallet so that it will not be accessible online. Example of this is Ledger Nano and Trezor. These are offline wallet so the possibility of being hacked is minimal since you still need to connect it to PC in case you wanted to use it but if you are not connected online then basically your coins are safe.

Maybe you need to be secure in your wallet key or dont give your private key to others to avoid hacking.
You need also unique password to some wallet to also avoid hacking.
Check all site that you are logging in because there are some fake sites.

Cold storage. At a bare minimum never use a web wallet.

You should also never tell anyone how much you have. You should hide your private keys and you should move your funds occasionally. This keeps people off the trail. Optimally you would mix your coins whenever you moved them.

Do not store your bitcoin in an online wallet especially if you are holding a large amount. Hackers are mostly using email or messaging chat to spread their phising link. If you receive mail or message from that don't open a suspicious link. Be cautious when you are visiting a website link to avoid being hacked.

Number 1 way of being hacked is opening spam messages since they might contain keylogger. Also be carefull joining airdrop campaigns because some downloadable wallets contains trojan, viruses or malwares that could lead to bitcoin wallet hacking.

I help small and medium business owners increase brand awareness by creating engaging content, customer support, managing email marketing, and implementing automation.

Put your btc in a cold storage or offline wallet,  keep your private key, dont give it to someone else. Be aware of phishing dont trust anyone specially when a certain stranger approached you and discuss about Bitcoin, on how to invest and where to invest without even asking for their advice. If someone sends you a downloadable link, dont click or download it, its another way of accessing your essential information. Your own security depends on you, be aware and be careful. You can do research about the modus or form of stealing cryptocurrencies for you be aware. To be forewarned is to be forearamed.

Use a paper wallet or cold storage wallet. If you have to use hot wallets or desktop wallets, use you 2-factor authentication for better protection. Put your private keys on paper and seal it in an envelope and entrust it to one person you truly trust to minimize exposure.

By choosing crypto wallet that's number one we avoid from scamming of your bitcoin from your wallet. I heard about exodus wallet so far I don't heard any negative feedback about them. Besides from this wallet much better use a offline wallet or paper wallet for more security of your bitcoin. Don't link website asking too much about your private account because it may cause leak of scamming. Keep your private key secretly don't trust to other, let say don't trust anyone even your own shadow.

i know what happened, he was too busy making useless youtube videos and then spam advertising them all over the internet so that he can gain some views and make some money, and he forgot to learn the first basic thing about security regarding his bitcoin wallet.

it is called cold storage https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Cold_storage
there are lots of useful things to learn on proper websites like the wiki and some others. stop wasting your time with those youtubers.
