I think they forgot to update their stratum info on their "getting started" page. This one doesn't work: STRATUM: stratum+tcp://glc.dedicatedpool.com PORT: 3333 Username: Weblogin.Worker Password: Worker Password It should be: STRATUM stratum+tcp://west1.us.stratum.dedicatedpool.com PORT 3333 Username Weblogin.Webworker Password Workerpassword Wasted myself some valuable mining time there, so hope I will save you some!

Also, two helpful notes to folks:
Please, no one report the updated fork to Coinwars or other profitability checkers. The last thing we need is multipools swooping in and just destroying this coin and your mining efforts.
Conversely, you SHOULD each individually report the updated fork to Cryptsy. More tickets in their system means it will be faster for an admin on their end to update to the latest fork and you can exchange your coins.

Yup, but I think multipools user their own profitability checkers. Though the adjustment algorithm is pretty smooth so I think it will handle hoppers well.

I do believe, however, that if the coin is put on the Coinwars/whatever sites then the multipool admins will most certainly update to the latest fork. Next thing you know the difficulty is at 5.00 or higher and it takes forever to come back down.

Basically most pools will leave the coin after its profitability falls lower than that of others. And difficulty is unlikely to climb too high. And more importantly, it will start declining immediately after multipools leave. I have seen a lot of harshrate coming to mine CNC and then leave, and it didn't cause massive swings. Btw, your pool won't send me emails when I try to change settings.

Couple things...
1. We need to ask what is wrong over at coinwarz. Would like to get a feeling of where we are in profitability and get more eyes on us. May be the daemon issue here as well?
2. Next time we experience high volume, we should remind each other to try and parlay that into wider exchange adoption. Bter, coinedup, coinex, as many others of which we can think.
I think 2014 is going to be an unbelievable year for BTC and alts, but the there may come a time when there are is just so many out in the market that the exchanges, investors, governments want a pull back in the number of actively traded coins. We need to make sure that GLC is deeply embedded so that nothing happens to us.
Now I do not think that we have anything to worry about in the short or medium term, but it should be noted that alts live and die by Cryptsy at the moment. That is where the volume is. I think they are going to trim there offerings and replace son of teh under performers soon. Our daily volume is usually well from the bottom(typically 25 to 40), so no worries, but we still need to spread Globalcoin everywhere.
When people begin there search for cryptocurrency they need to see Globalcoin. They need to see that blue and gold and know that it is the currency for them.
What else needs to be done to make it happen? What should we do?

Clear out the other addnodes and try these; I checked my wallet daemon and these are the ones active right now: addnode=162.243.104.134 addnode=162.243.106.159 addnode=162.243.239.107 addnode=27.33.32.111 You can also mine at my pool at http://globalcoin.chriskoeber.com. No fees, VARDIFF support, prop payouts.

If you're having trouble getting connections you may want to open port 55789 for TCP connections within your router and/or firewall. If you are not sure on how to go about port forwarding you can visit http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htmOnce you have the port open your client should begin finding plenty of new connections (might need to restart though). Doing this will also help the network by allowing other users to connect and sync the blockchain
