The government can only Prohibit but can not stop bitcoin. As with his Drugs they can only prohibit but difficult to stop the raid. Bitcoin can never be stopped, because the user and the storage is hard to track. So it's useless if the government forbids bitcoin because bitcoin will stay behind the impenetrable curtain.

Of course the government can ban bitcoin as it once happened in the Chinese government there is a ban on bitcoin so as to cause bitcoin prices to fall. the government usually forbids bitcoin because bitcoin is considered to weaken currency exchange rates in the country, can be used for criminal transactions such as buying drugs and money laundering so the government prohibits the use of bitcoins.

Bitcoin has been around the borders of financial markets for less than a decade, but is slowly gaining importance as an alternative asset class. Can the government of any major country step in and do the unlikely?
My personal view, yes, one government can control Bitcoin. There are countries right now that banned bitcoin. Anyone who will be caught doing transaction in it will be put to jail. I hope these countries will open up their minds that Bitcoin gives more advantages to the people.

Yes the government has authority to do this implementation if they have basis on doing this. Since the company and management of bitcoin is a legal entity I think it is not easy for them to banned bitcoin in their countries since there is a process that should be follow and the bitcoin will prevail its right against to the government.

No government can't ban bitcoin because its not handled by any government and also its founder or who handle it are not yet been found.

I think the government cannot ban bitcoin totally but they could find a way to cut or stop its transactions inside its country such as ordering banks not to accept bitcoin as a payment or they could stop the exchange by shutting down the place or the application.

Actually banks don't accept yet the payments in bitcoin. The government can stop exchange sites the US government had already stopped the operation of bitfinex.

There will be possibilities but it will be applicable in some countries that had already banned BTC in their locality. The government find BTC as nuisance in some economic aspects. They also disagree about depending in the E-cash because banks that the government hold will lose it's power if E-cash wield strong against money

They can do that. And several countries have done so already. I think they are either threatened with the fast rising of support for Bitcoin or the government, the financial advisers in particular, are not well-informed about Bitcoin and blockchain. If they are threatened, that means they indirectly accepted the fact that the force of Bitcoin is already strong that it may cause a certain level of significant shake-up of the system. If they are well-informed about blockchain and Bitcoin I cannot think why they will not support it. They must be threatened.

The government it's indeed can be ban all related activities on bitcoin, and applying the rules of law and sanctions imposed for its citizens who continue to doing so, but I don't think that until the all governments of each countries will banning it entirely, they certainly have a different opinions and responses positive or negative about that. Actually indeed.. this digital currency is so special & feels inappropriate to be banned, but yeah.. everyone has a different thoughts. If in this world the all people are a good people (no criminal brain, fraud's thinking, negative activities) with bitcoin, I'm dare to guarantee.. the whole governments will not thinking at all a bad impacts of bitcoin that would be happens from a various things.

They are also protecting their country in using bitcoin terrorist might use crypto currency to support the activities of terrorism in their country like the accusation ISIS supported part of their funds coming from crypto currency and each country has their own rule and regulations on how will they prevent it.

Yes, any government (like China) can put a ban on Bitcoin but cannot stop Bitcoin or kill bitcoin as Bitcoin is decentralized and uses peer to peer tech to communicate.

As mate mentioned that government of china have ban BTC and i think its not new news about BTC its too old now and after that there is no such other country who have ban bitcoin and BTC have no affect if any government ban BTC because its decentralized currency and on one can affect it. While also there is no possibility incoming time that any government can ban BTC because BTC is providing jobs to large number of people and through this way countries are getting strong economically.

I think yes, bitcoin can be banned by any government. If it develops bad image to the economy of their country. If bitcoin causes a lot of evils like gambling, phishing. Probably Bitcoin will be banned. But in fact it is developing very positively. and great investment potential for the future

They can ban the banks or exchanges that allows trading of bitcoins to fiat money. That way, no one can trade their bitcoins to any form of cash. Another way would be banning bitcoin exchange websites in order to prevent any bitcoin movement in the country.

Bitcoin is not owned or controlled by any government or corporation. Bitcoin network is peer to peer and fully decentralized.
I totally agree with you. Bitcoin is not controlled by any government but governments can just forbid the use of Bitcoin .if they feel bitcoin can lose them.
