Bitcoin has been around the borders of financial markets for less than a decade but is slowly gaining importance as an alternative asset class. Can the government of any major country step in and do the unlikely?
I do not think the government can get in and do the impossible. Bitcoin has been well managed in terms of security and management of its controls, perhaps a large country will influence other countries to resist bitcoin and agree to punish bitcoiner. Sorry if I'm wrong but here's my opinion.

I wouldn't think about it that much. Many have tried but soon enough made it ok again to do crypto one way or another. They want their regulations implemented first though. Better to leave it alone.

Actually they can easily ban bitcoin when the executive , legislative and judiciary department of a government pass a law to impose the total banning operation of bitcoin nationwide.

I think yes, any government can ban bitcoin, but I don't think it will ever make bitcoin dead. Because bitcoin is traded on the Internet, its investors come from all over the world, and bitcoin does not die from a country's ban. If a country bans bitcoin, it can still trade.

Yes it is possible that any government can banned bitcoin in there country, example of that was the government of China. They totally banned bitcoin in there country, they totally demolish the use of bitcoin in any transaction in their country.

Government is the primary power generating institution of a nation, they have the judiciary and legislative authority, however, every decision and legislations are subject for studies and reviews, specially when their economic stability is at stakes. If they find any irregularities , perhaps they would try to find ways on how to fix it and set control. It would at least depend on how they see and conceptualized bitcoin in their country.

it depends. on its support and the willingness of the population It is always depends on the government if your government against in bitcoin then they will ban bitcoin in their country but if they see how bitcoin help the country and they also want bitcoin they can not ban it in their country.

I think the government can ban bitcoin. It depends on each government policy. However, this does not mean that bitcoin does not exist in that country. Although banned in the country, in fact there are still many people who use bitcoin.

Any governments can all exchanges where bitcoin is traded and refunded. but they can never ban bitcoin. that's why bitcoin keeps on growing on its demands. and once they ban exchanges, there will be some ways for bitcoin users to find in refunding it.

Yes, the government has a authority to do it because they have a police power and the eminent domain so all things are possible to them to do, if they see that it will bring a good benefit in the country.

technically the government may not be able to stop bitcoin, but the government can stop by enacting a rule that prohibits bitcoin transactions as a medium of exchange, but bitcoin should only be used as an investment commodity.

I don't think the government can completely ban bitcoin, which is very hard to do. When the government bans bitcoin, it can still trade through the bitcoin network. Bitcoin is anonymous and decentralized, and the government has no control over the bitcoin network.

Now banned after all replay and legalize cryptocurrency. This is inevitable and cannot be avoided, the so-called new world order.

this topic is posted when bitcoin begins to rise slowly to the highest price and after the issue of bitcoin ban in korea the price has dropped and added by the media and india ban at the moment bitcoin price is getting dropped and now I think the government can make a ban for bitcoin for some reason even though the government can not break the bitcoin network and I hope this does not last long and not followed by other countries because this will make bitcoin lost direction

It is definitely a yes. Governments of every country can ban the bitcoin in their land because they have the right todo it so. The role of them is to keep their citizens and even their country safe so if the governments of each country see something wrong about welcoming the bitcoin they will be against it.
