***CHIPS IN STOCK NOW***

I've received 5,200 chips in trays of 270.  I can sell them for 1BTC/chip as samples.  Since chip price is now pegged to BTC, I'm trying to figure the best way to put them up on the store without extensive hacking of the store code.

In any case if you want chips, you can email sales@megabigpower.com with Qty Requested and Shipping Address.  We'll invoice you for the number of chips you want.  Meantime I'll try to get something up on the store.

Remaining stock: 4900

Yvonne has graciously agreed to NO MINIMUM QTY.  That's right - you can order a single chip, or two if you want to make matching earrings.

Cheers,
Dave

Its a fair question and I don't have an answer yet.  We haven't had a chance to do much EM testing...we can find this out fairly soon once we are past the current production hassle.

Once I get my boards in (another epic story for another time and place), I'll run tests.  It shouldn't output higher frequency emissions than the core clock frequency, which at the power level of the chip, should be safer than a cellular phone at its power levels.  If anyone is really concerned, just buy some 5mil thick copper foil, solder the seams, and ground it cover a jock strap with it.   Will dampen 1mhz to 10ghz by ~120db.

I'll test a chip at various power settings and extrapolate a multi-chip scenerio using a FDTD simu at different densities.

Awesome, thanks!  I have to work in a space with 400 - 500 of these things...I'd like to know too.

There, problem solved!

We sent two team members to China.  One went to the factory to test the first new units coming off the line on Monday.  Niko went to another fab in China to open up a new supply chain.  We expect this to give us some overlap and assurances in terms of product supply for October and beyond.

I also see a hosting placeholder has hit the store. Dave do to know what the price might be ?

My calculation if the 100Th mine is for 250 full rigs, at under $5000/month data centre hosting.

I'm working hard to figure out what capacity I can spare for a hosted offer for customers in the store.  Right now I have one datacenter totally full with 100TH (now 200TH), and a new center in the works that will have 1PH capacity (1mW power).  The new center will take 3 - 4 months to get done.

I'm planning to reserve space in that center for a hosting option for units sold in the store.

Just got my Spottswood Bitfury open case - and it's sitting there just begging to have an August starter kit installed in it...
I'll try to post some photos tomorrow.

In half a years time a TH/S will be the minimum that a serious miner will need.  And it will cost maybe 2000 bucks? Equivalent or less than a high end GPU miner.

Exactly. The 400GH/s order I have in with BitFury will be my last ASIC purchase until 1TH/s become available.

My guess is that things will level off around a total environment of 10 PH/S. That will be some crazy high difficulty.
