Sigh.. Slept in bigtime.. It is fustrating not knowing whether the miners are getting fair shares.. From what I can see on the stats page, they are, and I'm thinking we'd be getting complaints by now if they didn't..

Missed out on the 5K block found by the pool.. I bet they were happy with that !. I've never hit one..

One thing I've kept an eye on is the network hashrate which has gone up.. at one point I thought it was slowly returning to "normal", but this morning it's moving up again..

As I'm understanding the graphs with my low hashrate, all you can see are only shares. The other hashes are not included in the graphs.

Yes there are differing opinions about the name and the value of having it on an exchange both in the dev team and in the wider community..

I don't think that an owner or a user of an Adult Site cares about the name.
I do think that the owner of an adult site doesn't want to mess around on cryptsy, and worry that the coins value just halved or tripled..
I suspect that they would prefer to sell coins back to the users at their own site for cash, at a stable price that most sites are using.. sell too high and people buy from a different site, sell to low and you are cutting into your own profit..

This coin is meant to be used in commerce, not speculated on in an exchange because it "could be" useful in the future.

But that is just my personal opinion, and as I have said, opinions differ on these points. I'm sure that as the coin develops we will see how it is adopted, and whether it is rebranded

The pool is in beta.. It was put up to see if it works and we do have a few miners.. As was mentioned before we want to change the the size of the "N" in PPLNS... It's way too big..

Right now it takes forever to get your percentage of hashpower into SXC. I've been testing on my own "private pool" and have managed to get that down to three hours. It does require the pool be restarted but the cgminer will automatically reconnect when it's back up again, and miners should not lose any submitted shares.

That might have been done today, but Lava had an emergency to attend to. I'm hoping everything will be well, and the pool will be adjusted, but i don't know what his situation is at the moment...

Something was definitely wrong.

I made a couple of changes to the code and restarted the pool.
Hopefully, that will fix it. Please keep the feedback coming.

When mining sexcoin, the usual reward for solving a block is 100sxc. But there is a random chance of a 5x block, 500sxc and there is a quite small chance of getting 50x block, 5000sxc. The pool popped a 5k block yesterday.

And I have to say, I'm feeling terrible about the misconfiguration on the pool. I was mining NoTroll when the shit hit the fan. This pool is STILL beta, and we need miners to test it out. Watch you wallets and please keep the feedback coming.

When I am confident the pool is stable I'll post it in big letters.

The share difficulty needs to be lower, see http://p2pool.org:8245/static/ WDC is much lower.  Hopefully attract some more miners.

Yeap thought about that but miners can change their own difficulty to suit their hash power.. by adding "username+0.########" instead of just "username".. change the pool difficulty and the smaller miners get more shares, but then so do the big ones..

The more I'm looking through this the more I see that there is a lot of things wrong. The fact that the stats aren't showing up, and that it won't pay out low-hash miners tells me I've missed something big. I'm hunting it down right now.

UPDATE: I'm pulling it down for the next few hours. I'll post when its back up. (2:25:48 GMT)

Yes the pool went down ..

Ironically the test pool was on a windows box, on a VPN and working like a charm.. right down to it's PPLNS window..

The "pool" open to the public (though not really) on a linux box was giving us concerns with payouts .. especially to small miners...

Our solution was to set up a copy of the "test" server on a dedicated windows box... And props to lavajumper for going beyond the call of duty and enduring another night with little sleep to get it done..

We are only a few minutes in, and we can't emphatically say that the server is up to scratch, but already it is mimicking the test server.. although it's not using the "fancy" frontend, the stats are showing the same behaviour as the "test" server.. the next three hours will be crucial and by then we we will know that miners are being paid right..

Don't forget this is a new pool, and there could be issues.. At the moment things are looking very good..
