Yeap we are gaining merchants.. we aren't trying to gain them, but we are getting them anyway.. and I'm starting to soften up the big sites, but it will be months if not years before that pays out...
But it's fustrating as hell.. for a moment there I thought we dipped lower than Elephant Coin, which was listed on crypsty before us to capture the lucrative elephant market so prevalent on the internet, as opposed to the non-existant porn industry...
But you are right, we got this far by doing what we are doing, and in our own time...

Bitcoin didn't disappear when Gox crashed horribly years ago, you know, and now look at it years later. It's not even used for sex related items/services either... |

Lol. But seriously, nobody is saying that it's not frustrating. "Frustration" is our middle name. Take those low dips in value as a good thing. It help's spread the coin to new people, and it shows there's a demand for more trading. In moments of doubt, just ask yourself if you think the online porn industry has any interest in adopting its own private/secure/anonymous/unregulated/universal payment mechanism. Of course it does! It's just up to us to make sure that this is the coin it chooses. |

IMO the best coin to compare against for value is MemeCoin. It has the same reward size, and the same block time. Which means all things being equal, they should have the same value.
And they are pretty close, ignoring the current (temporary) dip in SXC value. So that should tell you that in the current market, the SXC value is very near where it probably should be.
Also note that back in the summer MemeCoin had a tremendous boost in value which lasted a couple weeks, 10 times its normal value. AFAIK there was no reason for it, there were no announcements of any changes or new services, or anything of that nature. If it can do that for no apparent reason. Sexcoin will be able to do even better once it gets some acceptance in the porn industry.

My 2 SXC:
It took bitcoin and litecoin years to hit the market they have now. Also, I'm thinking that major dump may have been because LTC has made a rally. Perhaps the holder was simply exchanging to get in on the LTC action. BTC has also pulled up.
If you have an account on the Lavapit, there is another stat I put up which is a SXC=USD conversion. It pulls the SXC/BTC info from CoinEX, the SXC/LTC from cryptsy, and BTC/USD, LTC/USD from btc-e. If you've been watching it, the value of sxc has pulled UP even after the dump. ( 2777sxc= $1 USD ) Its been hovering around 3200 to 3400. Its hard to know what ground you stand on with all the different conversions.

Something screwy seems to be happening with P2Pool. A lot of the shares are orphaned or DOA.

Because the block speed is off, there are about 1 million extra coins a week.. In fact the price just took a pasting because somebody dumped 475,000 of them.
And I snatched 80,000 of those  You have to notice that most SXC coins are in the hands of people happy to stake them up, and so there isn't much volume for trading and that cripples movements in price. However I don't see a problem, as lava mentioned, SXC/USD price is very steady, even in the madness that is happening right now, and when I asked whether it is good to pump the coin value, you said that you preferred a *steady* price, well  . |

Well, don't I look like an idiot again... SXC has two new sites, and the last trade I saw was at 35494 SXC @ 0.000345..
The good news is instead of continueing to whine about it, I took the opportunity to stack up some more SXC at around 0.00012, because the price was so ridiculously low.. It was hard going though, very few were willing to sell..
I've pimped the OP a little and I'm still waiting on a response from BTER..

Apparently you can .... Bad Joke.. Mymenace ... there are others who could have done the job, but he was really great to work with..
