When do you know its time to sell your altcoins?

The best time to sell altcoins is, when it's price is going higher. And if I bought altcoin for 1$ and price has reached 5$, I would sell it. The main rule is to be patient.

I have come to realize people will tell you when to buy, but will never tell you when to sell, that's the decision you make for yourself. As for me, once I get 5% profit am okay. I live to trade another day than losing all in the quest of getting 10%.

That person should make as much as he or she wants. It's their fault if they lose their investment money on a trade by staying in it too long.

That is correct. That is why I believe that creating a system of trading and strictly follow that system will going to remove emotion trading in the picture. There are many missed golden opportunities in trading due to emotionally driven trades.
