if your looking for long term you can try eth but the price just rise recently for the price to rise again maybe it will take few months or more

Those are good choice of top altcoins but they are expensive. Why not buy altcoins with cheaper price but has a big potentital to grow in the future? How about buying Cardano, Ripple, and NEM?

The amount of $500 is good to invest this not big and this is not small it exact amount.  You can buy waves because the price is small and for sure once the price increase high you can make a lot of profit. Waves coin say other people it's like ethereum coin and that's I think also so you can buy ethereum but you cant  buy 1 ethereum . But better conbination is ethereum and waves coin.  But neo is good also but all of decision is yours.

I would suggest that you invest in some ICO, because you only have $500, so if you want to get a bigger return, it's obviously the best way to invest in ICO.

Yes invest in altcoins and the amount is good too because some altcoins can give you a lot of profit if you have a big amount and how higher the amount of coins you have the higher your profit will get.

Investing $500 in altcoins is not a big deal, but before that you make sure of things Time period and quantity. First of all plan whether you are expecting a short-term income for your monthly expenses or whether you are expecting a long-term income as savings or future purposes. Either you can invest small amount and expect big returns or either you can invest big amount and expect a small returns.

 According to me some best coins are Neo and Ethereum as they are having some good potential for investing.Apart from these two coins i also like to add IOTA, Zcash, LTC and Monero as these are trending upside with good Momentum and volatility and they are expected to continue the process for coming years as they are undervalued at higher prices.

So many coins are good choices but the truth is that no one knows which one would really be able to stay on top of their game in the long run. It is a world where nothing is predictable and one filled with coins that are trying to impress with the value, but it is how investors really perceive it that counts anyway. ETH, WAVES and NEO are good choices, but I believe there is going to be a stiff competition among them since they are smart contract related, I would also go for coins with some high security thoughas investors seem to pay attention to that as well.

It depends on what you are looking for, if you are looking for small interest rate then invest in "stable" old expensive altcoins such as ether. I would personally invest in low cap altcoins, 50$ in 10 different altcoins. Another option - risky one, invest in ICO, some projects are looking very promising and maybe your 500$ will be worth 100 times one day.
