If you want to trade then invest in many coins. I think bitcoin is the main because it fluctuates less than other assets and is a suitable asset for long-term investment. You can divide $ 5,000 to buy several different coins. It's up to you how the division scale. Buying when the red / falling market is a strategy that traders usually do. This strategy does not guarantee a huge return on your investment. The point is not to use emotions and to look at investments with a long-term perspective. There is no perfect investment strategy, so it's important for every investor to be open to other ideas and try different investment methods that match the characteristics of the investors as well as the characteristics of the investment assets.

There are many strategies exist to become successful in crypto world and some people prefer to invest their money only in bitcoin for the long term investment and  others decide to trade with altcoins and wait for their price to double before selling them.

I don't think there has ever been a better strategy than long term investment in bitcoin because short term marginal trading comes with huge risks since bitcoin is still a very volatile commodity and can swing any where the market wishes it it makes every sense to invest and hold for a long time just as i am doing.

To succeed in investing you need to have basic knowledge about Crypto, and you can find it in this forum. Once you have the basic knowledge, find your investment options. You should find out which Altcoin has a great deal of trading volume per day and how large it can fluctuate, as this makes it easy to make a profit.

There are many good investment strategies and I think the best investment is not just storing the bitcoin you have but using your trading capital to earn profits by trading bitcoin altcoin.

I have always considered the best strategy not to invest everything and immediately into something one. It is better to invest in several cryptocurrencies at once, then there is more chances of success in one of the directions or in several.

If you are a new person who has just entered the encrypted world, I suggest that you invest in bitcoin, so that your money will not be too risky, and you can invest some of the mainstream coins when you are familiar with the community.

Better divide that money to invest in a few coin. Bitcoin is primary investment because bitcoin have biggest liquidity in market. Beside bitcoin, ethereum is second choice to invest. If we want to join ICOs better doing some research because right now many scam ICOs around cryptomarket

First of all do not trust anyone. You must learn as much as possible about Cryptocurrencies. Using historical Bitcoin price data, it is possible to model different buying behaviors. You should monitor the movement, supply, and the 24 hour volume of the major coins. You should not invest all your money into one or two coins. Be wise and invest half in bitcoins and half in altcoins. Research remains the most important aspect of cryptocurrency investing.

I believe the best strategy for now while bitcoin is decreasing is to buy bitcoin as much as you can and hold for a while until the price is increasing because i really believe bitcoin that the market price of bitcoin will rise soon

Using historical Bitcoin price data, it is possible to model different buying behaviors.

Buying during hype periods has been a losing strategy when combined with ‘weak hands’.

Simply holding or buying the dip have been winning strategies for Bitcoin historically.

After the disastrous start to the year for Bitcoin (COIN, OTCQX:GBTC), many investors have been left wondering how to proceed. One on hand, investors who witnessed the end of year rallies in 2017 know how quickly the market can turn around and do not want to be left behind if Bitcoin surges. On the other hand, the sharp corrections often following bull runs have left an indelible impression on investors and many now patiently anticipate these corrections before buying in. In this article, we’ll show an analysis of historical data to attempt to shed light on how best to invest in Bitcoin.

$5,000 is already a good start for investment. If you know how to trade then that is also good while investing with bitcoin or maybe try also in other good altcoins that you know. There are also a lot of altcoins can make you profited more than bitcoin, but you can also divide your $5,000 into 3 or 4 for your investment. You can scatter them because I think it is better if you invested with more than one.

I would suggest to invest half of it in ETH because it is seeming and most probably to go up and rest in some other crypto that you find interesting and having potential to grown some folds . You may also go for bitcoins but I don't think that would be more profitable.
