Yesterday they announced their chip is being made by none other than TSMC, the biggest and most advanced foundry in the known universe.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSMC

Weren't Avalons chips from TSMC? That turned out well for them Smiley

Whether the chips are made by TSMC or GlobalFoundries it won't make any difference.  GlobalFoundries used to be called "AMD", and ended up with "GlobalFoundries" when AMD split in two and became a "Fabless" semiconductor company, like eASIC.

It's likely that the GPUs everyone used to mine with and loved were fabbed made by them.  Just calm down.

The chips will be made where eAsic made them. Trying to convince people only TSMC can do good silicon is plain stupid. Probably a lot of people here are using PCs with their Intel chips made in irish factories, for example.

Intel uses it's own fabs and they're actually even more advanced then TSMC. They're already at 22nm and will be putting out 14nm chips early next year.

I thought I read that Sargent K. Slaughter was going to get a refund from Avalon for the 20,000 chips. If so does anyone know if were going to see that refund in a future dividend?

You should hope not. Paying that refund out as dividends has been universally rejected as a pretty poor use of the funds. For the future sake of ActM, I hope they reinvest it.

So we are getting the refund for the Avalon chips right? I did not hear of a final decision in regards to this. Update from Yifu on another thread.

Alright guys, got some good news, here's the two big ones.

1. chips from wednesday arrived just fine, they are being split/packaged for shipment.
2. we are going to open refund for all orders, not just june 1st/15th or what not.

expect more detailed update via newsletter later tonight.

anyone got some ideas about the massive sell off? Is not happening only for ActM and the buy pressure is very low.

Is a consequence of the bitcoin price drop?

What is so bad about 100 more shares?
When ActM hits .01 in December, those 100 shares will be worth 1 whole bitcoin.

Ooops! Now I see what you mean.

Well, I have a few shares of Active Mining, but not nearly as many as some of my smarter friends who have taught me their adept investment strategies.

I have learned a great deal from some of the regulars of the Freenode, #activemining IRC channel.

Whales are great, wonderful, magnificent creatures, and when they go down, below the waves, they are able to stay underwater for 90 to 120 minutes, but they always rise up again.
