This stock is going crazy fast up..  Is this for real or a bubble?

I mean now I am trying to decide should I hold on tight and hope for great Div's over the next 6 months or should I sell half my shares now to get what I originally paid back...

Wow..  Just worried if this fast move up is for real and will last or is it a bubble?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

- I think SDice cash appears on Bitfunder tomorrow, increasing liquidity.

- The price is well below what it would be worth should the plan work even half as well as expected.

- If eASIC issue a press release next month, we can be confident it's all really happening. The share price will go up a lot most likely, with many people then holding for 3-4 months whilst eASIC do their bit. eASIC aren't small fry, this is a major company who deliver. So if they say they're doing it, they're really doing it!

There is also mining gear on the way in the mean time.

i thought about this earlier. i was tempted to sell off half and hold tight to the rest, but i also think that there has shown to be a real consistent demand for this stock.

for the moment, i am holding. if it spikes without any reason, i will sell off and rebuy when the correction hits.

Always do the maths.

The hashing power based on the Avalon based systems will be 6.377 Th/s, which would work out to about 637.7 kh/s per share, providing about 0.00007182 BTC weekly dividends based on the current difficulty. So, they'll be actually be a fair bit lower than that.

Thanks for your Input guys...  I am hanging on and not selling now..

I only have 1500 shares but still its nice to even have that for the price I got in at.... 0.0025

And agree that you have to believe its the hardware sales that will REALLY potentially drive the Stock price and Div way up(Hopefully)

Always do the maths: hardware sales.

I don't have any data for hardware sales so I wont do any maths for that. What I do know though is that the hardware does not exist yet and that people are pissed off with pre-orders. I don't expect hardware sales to amount to much at the moment or for the next month or two.

The reason for buying shares at the moment is due to the potential, the dividends are just a little bonus while waiting.

The dividends are low per share, but most of us have thousands of shares. The last div payout on BitFunder was 0.00000517 BTC. Multiply that by 1500 and you get 0.007755 BTC. If we assume dividends of 0.00001 BTC when all the Avalon based systems are online, you'd be getting 0.015 BTC from mining from those 1500 shares.

1500 * 0.0025 BTC = 3.75 BTC. That's about 1 BTC less than the cost of an AM share, with equivalent mining divs.

Hardware shipping isn't until November, and these things often get delayed.

The dividends are better at asicminer and will be for months due to their own sales. Let's not pretend otherwise.

This stock is a long term hold with an awful lot of potential. It's all about eASIC - look them up.

Let's compare them on BTC-TC based on current price and last dividend payout.

ASICMiner
Price: 4.643 BTC per share
Divs: 0.02405901 BTC per share

Active Mining
Price: 0.005780 BTC per share
Divs: 0.00000517 BTC per share

For the cost of 1 AM share, you could buy 803 ActM shares. The ActM shares would payout 0.00415151 BTC in dividends, which is 5.8x less than what you would get from AM for the same price.

yeah asicminer had great dividends the first month after it began.

Would it not be a cheaper option to buy AMC and convert them to Activemining shares? Am I missing something?

It is cheaper at the moment, but just be sure to tender them before the 31st as I believe that is the cutoff date.

By my calculations there are still 267 people holding a total of 795,613 AMC shares.  Those people really need to tender them or they will be missing out on 90% of the hardware profits.

Good advice, although it's possible that these numbers reflect Ken's backlog rather than shareholder ineptitude.

In order to avoid these threads being hijacked after the deadline expires with posts like, "How am I expected to fund my children's education now that my AMC shares are worth diddly-squat compared to ActM shares?", and, "I'm so pissed that I missed the boat that I'm gonna do a Volanic Erupter", I suggest a marketing campaign akin to no other.  MASSIVE letters to spell out the deadline itself. Post on EVERY thread that is even remotely related to ActM/AMC/VMC.  Send up the advertising Zepplins.  Hold back on nothing apart from your QR codes.

We have a duty of care to our fellow shareholders and MUST do everything we can
to avoid not just a single incident, but a potential PR disaster.

Honestly, it will break my heart to see anyone caught out on this, but I fear it is inevitable.   Cry

Ken really should issue a presser on Bitfunder to warn shareholders.  I know plenty of people don't keep their eyes on this thread or the AMC thread.

Edit:

I see he actually did that.  It's the only news item AMC has.  That said, it's not overtly descriptive.  I dunno.  Buyer beware I suppose.

Exactly.

We all know that some of Ken's decisions haven't gone down that well, even when they may have been right.

Here's a scenario I see unfolding..

Ken gets a PM from a shareholder who missed the boat. Ken does the right thing? Shareholder goes public.  Forum goes mental and Ken gets another grilling. We lose.

Only one of many hypothetical outcomes, but as I see it, none of them serve us well.

Let's encourage the newly appointed board to place this one their agenda.

I would personally like to see someone step up and create a new Tender address.  They could then trade their ACTM shares for AMC shares and submit them to Ken once a week before dividends.

This would almost completely take the issue off of Ken's plate without putting any ACTM shares at risk, while giving a route for people to tender there shares late.

I wouldn't mind doing this but unfortunately I only kept about 1/4th of my shares on bitfunder and I don't think I would have enough to handle the volume.

I'd be happy to take the workload off of Ken, and I've got enough shares to where I could easily handle the volume. If anyone wants to take the leap of faith, I'll turn your shares around within a few hours. Should I charge a fee, maybe 2 shares per tender?

No fee if you intend to act on Ken's behalf.

Hm, in that case I doubt I'd have the motivation to check it more than once a day!  Grin
I could also provide BTCT->Bitfunder transfer service if anyone would find that useful.
