Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I mean in the next couple of weeks. Beyond that, there is some mining gear to get going Smiley

You are right, I totally forgot about the Klondike boards and 20k Avalon chips. Wink

Is anyone else worried that this price rise is a bit unwarranted and due to a correction soon?
I mean, I'd understand if eASIC put out an official press release, but they haven't yet.

Considering selling off some of my shares and buying back in when there's a correction.

I don't have the stomach for that kind of speculation.  Good luck however.

Quietly waiting for good news. I used to suffer too. So I hold no trading

Buy on the rumor, sell on the news.
In this case the news would actually propel the price even higher. Usually the "sell on the news" is because the news is underwhelming, but an eASIC press release would be the final nail in the scam FUD coffin.

"That kind of speculation"?  This is a thread speculating the share price ActiveMining, in either direction.  I don't think it's wise to just blindly cheer at the price hikes.
I've got a decent holding in ActiveMining, and like all shareholders, of course I'm happy when the share price increases.  But as a realist, I'm just wondering if an increase in share price like this is reasonable.

Seriously? This was just covered one page back. Do you require more guesses from speculators to form your opinion?

I'm merely asking for the opinions of other shareholders about the continuing price rise.  I thought that this is the type of thread for just that.  No need to be hostel.

There is no way to liquidate a meager several thousand usd position. There are several million tied up in these shares. So yeah this is going to fall fast and hard, going to be a volatile ride.

This move is on low volume and its super thin.  The book can barely handle a 10K sell order right now without the price moving back down 30%.

The volume is only super thin on Bitfunder because people check BTC-TC and if the price soared there they cancel their ask orders and put them higher. Most of the buyers also seem to be buying at market instead of playing bid orders so that further confounds the upward movements.

I definitely think there will be a correction on BTC-TC as there have been many previously due to the high volume and volatility there. By the time people try to arbitrage across exchanges or make orders based on BTC-TC price action, the ups and downs get smoothed out a good bit and creates a fairly linear upward trend on Bitfunder. On Bitfunder I would just hold, but on BTC-TC there is a lot of money to be made day trading.

In this chart comparison since July 26th you can see how much more volatile BTC-TC is (it needs a parabolic trend line really) compared to Bitfunder which you can easily draw a trend line on. Of course the scales are slightly different but I think the difference is still apparent.

The book depth is super thin on both.  Look at what a 10K market sell would do on either exchange.
