Litecoin to be over $5000 in 2018?

it is so far for litecoin to reach $5,000 in this year, my prediction price of the litecoin this year maybe around $500 but to reach $5,000 maybe next 2 or 3 years but it will reach $5,000 the price of litecoin, we don't know when will happen.

Litecoin founder Charlie Lee has been extremely active lately posting warnings on social media about a forked version that he does not support. Lee’s public outcry comes as a fork for a competing crypto dubbed Litecoin Cash draws nearer.

There is currently nothing to stop anyone making their own cryptocurrency or forking off from an existing blockchain. Countless new iterations of Bitcoin have emerged in the past few months from GOD to DARK. People can get scammed if they don’t do their own research and blindly follow the streams of dross that pollute social media platforms. Governments are anxious to regulate the industry to prevent these sorts of things from happening.

On the surface Litecoin Cash appears to be just another one of these, riding on the name to garner interest. It comes with a plan to increase the block time, enable SHA256 mining, and offer 90% cheaper transaction fees than its parent altcoin. The fork will happen at block 1371111, which is around February 18 or 19. Charlie Lee and the Litecoin team however want nothing to do with it;

To win over investors and traders the forkers are offering free LCC tokens for LTC holders at a ratio of ten to one. This is the common method of drumming up support for a newly forked crypto coin

In the short term, I expect people will buy litecoin just to qualify for the airdrop. But it's not clear which if any exchanges are supporting Litecoin Cash.

So I have taken notice of this "coinbase effect" and I really believe that it is true. I think that people are downloading coinbase, seeing how high BTC is, and deciding to invest into LTC and ETH instead. I am NOT saying that these coins will pass BTC in any way, but I do think that LTC and ETH will be in the 4-10 thousands next year for sure. This is a very optimistic prediction, and I don't think it will be more than $1,000 in 2018.

Hopefully all the COINS will work well in 2018.

In my opinion litecoin will not be able to reach  even $ 3000 in 2018) LTC is a very perspective and strong coin, but$ 5000 it is very much for it. I think litecoin will reach a maximum of $ 2,000 by the end of 2018.

I think this is a very optimistic figure . Yes of course, the asset is very good , but I think its real value is $ 1000 maximum , well, maybe in a couple of years will cost $5000

litecoin still need time before it reaches more than $1k but in this year, every possibility could happen because litecoin itself has a big community and I am sure that the price will increase higher like ethereum. but to reach $5000, I am not sure because we need to make sure the price break many barrier before it is increase higher.

It's not an official fork - but to get your litecoin cash airdrop, you need to buy litecoin. IMO, that is why the price of litecoin has risen.

It could be. I really hope it's not an exageration. Litecoin could be worth $1.000 or $2.000 but I would say you went a little to far by saying it's gonna be worth that much. $5.000 seems a little bit too much.

5K USD is way too much for this year. I think in late 2019 Litecoin may pass 5K. Litecoin is one of my favourite coins of all time. It will be bigger than Bcash for sure.

Do you have any calculation of this probability or did you just want it to be so? If LTC will cost $ 5,000, then its capitalization will become absolutely inadequate. I strongly doubt that this can ever happen. Since other coins will also grow in parallel in price.
