Once I had high hopes for Litecoin. But these were never materialized. After incurring some loses as a result of investing in Litecoin, I realized that it is just another altcoin without any additional features when compared to Bitcoin.

Yeah, I think we definitely need to go there. However, with all this crap Kobayashi brought in with the Mt. Gox crap that keeps giving, it may be delayed for a while.

I'm not sure if it could reach 5000$ as there is quite a substantial amount of litecoins compared to Bitcoin.
Then again I can see it reaching ethers value if we can get to the similar size marketcap. I'm still surprised litecoin hasn't surpassed ethereums cap, but then again eth is a substantial player in this game as well.
All we need is a few billions from bitcoins market cap and we are good to go haha.

I don't expect the litecoin price to reach 5000k $ this year. I think it's quite a good coin, but this price is probably beyond its reach. If the price is 300-350 $ it will be fine.

It is not gonna happen in 2018 for Litecoin to grow to that figure. Trading as low as below $200 today, $5000 is certainly not realistic in the next 1, 2, or even 3 years. LTC still has a long way to go.
I think it's dreams only. After 1 year LTC can be dead because of nothing new from this coin. How to predicate such long? In 2019 we will see more technological and smarter coins that LTC today |

I think litecoin is a stable coin because if the price is down, the price is not down too far and will be back to the price before and wait for a good moment to increase. but for an increase to $5000 in 2018, I am not sure because it depends on how people will do with the litecoin and how they support the litecoin itself. but I see that litecoin have a large community and many people still support litecoin so the chance to increase is wide open so I think it is better to wait what will happen with litecoin.

I know about cryptocurrency Litecoin since 2015 and the price of LTC that times around $3 and now the price about $185 so in 3 years the price growing more than 60 times, so in my opinion the price of LTC possible to grow to $5000 but hard for this year, could be in 2 years.

Litecoin definitely has a lot of potential, but the $ 5000 price seems too big to me, at least for this year. I think that by the end of the year LTC can cost around $ 1000, and ETH about $ 2500.

If bitcoin will costs 300,000, then lightcoin will approach this price. Otherwise, its price will be 200-210 dollars. Lightcoin is not an independent coin, its rate is directly dependent on bitcoin.

For me, Ethereum will reach the $5,000 mark first then Litecoin in the $1,000 area. That is if Bitcoin can surpass again the $20,000 just like in December 2017.

I think Litecoin is still trying to overcome the enormous shadow of ETH. Only thing is, the stability of litecoin is losing its superiority to choose. ETH can reach $ 5000 this year or next 1-2 years. But with litecoin it will take a long time to keep up with that price.

Why not? Denominate Litecoin in Guyana dollar but not in the United States one and you will get over 5000 in 2018.

There are coins like Nano which Litecoin cant even compete with. There also isn't much development being done for Litecoin. Even Charlie Lee owns Nano, which should show where Nano stands. So I don't know why Litecoin should reach such high market cap when there are other coins deserving it much more than this coin.

Without Bitcoin starting a bull run again and getting to new all time highs, it is quite unlikely, that Litecoin will get to over $5000 in this year, even though it might be possible in the long run sometime in the future. And as many times mentioned in this thread, there are many other altcoins and competitors, which might even surpass the Litecoin market cap. It might be different, if Litecoin starts to revamp their technology and roadmap.

Possible but not in 2018 , if there will be some major development and adaptation then that will be really possible, as of now it's because of the hype and people realizing it's much cheaper to transact litecoin than bitcoin, I've seen unilad featured litecoin the other day now the price pump, not sure if that gave any factor or effect to litecoin surge, since it's a media exposure then we could conclude that it has an effect. can't tell though, Litecoin deserves the surge since it's been stable for a long time.

Well, Litecoin has quite a big crowd of fans. So anything is possible, especially since this coin is distinguished by its more or less stable cours. Therefore, it can be. |

As things stand, Litecoin has the 6th highest market capitalization, approximately 10 billion dollars, in the cryptocurrency world, trailing after Bitcoin, about $136 billion dollars as of this writing. I am a bit confused to be honest and I don’t understand exactly why Litecoin value is so low. Because if I look at the number of coins versus market capitalisation is easy to say that at 100 billion capitalisation the price could jump to $2,500. So, where is Litecoin going in 2018? The truth is that nobody really knows. The best we can do is to make an educated guess based on both the past performance and the fundamentals. Therefore, whether it is the underlying technology or the price hike this year, we have reason to believe that Litecoin is expecting sunny days ahead of it.
