Wish all the best to everyone, good luck

Sorry to hear that, I guess you sold BTC when it hit $30 as well.

Sorry , but if he indeed had any quarks , if he indeed sold on the 14 , it's like he sold when BTC was 1600 Wink.
Cause the price then was 0.0003 and now 0.00014.

Also , the wisest sold when BTC reached 30$ the first time. What happened next....don't want to remember.
well  i must be really wise because i bought 600k of quark @ 0.0003 and i haven't sold any, i did give 10k away though

A lot of people really don't understand what makes a cryptocurrency succeed.

First the coin must be on an exchange, multiple exchanges is even better. Quark meets this requirement.

Second the coin must have a viable and sustaining network. How is this accomplished? Normally there is a pump and dump scheme where a large group of miners rape the coin and dump it at any price to make money. Unfortunately the result is that the price plunges and soon nobody wants to own it (invest in it) because it is nearly worthless. Eventually the situation changes when the coin is nearly completely mined and the block reward is small, the constant mining and dumping no longer affects the price because the reward size is so small compared to the total number of coins. For nearly every coin except Quark this is many tens of years from now. For Quark because of its rapid distribution this situation will occur in the next few weeks to a month. The mining and dumping of coins will have little effect on the price because the block reward will be so small compared to the number of coins being traded. However, because it is still mined by those that don't pay for electricity the network remains viable and robust.

What is the result of this situation of having most of the coins distributed and having a sustaining amount distributed by mining to keep the network viable?

A coin that is investment grade. There is a natural trend for the price to rise and big money (i.e., wall street money) has already begun to invest in Quark.

This speaks perfectly to how I feel about Quark and what I expect.

+1   mate well said why do you think I can have a little fun here calling out these peice of shit ha ha .

My job is to do political deals and secure Quark as the number one option for our investors to help them free themselves from obvious debt slavery , and the negative effects of inflation and deflation .

I will aggressively pursue that goal , if any of these other currency fan boy or indeed fiat fan boys want to engage in an adult conversation , please lets do that .

Of course alternatively they also have the option to fuck off and die, which when you think about if you are a fiat fanboy will probably help humanity ?

I can't wait to tell you all the news we have going on, to Quark supporters , we have something special here, lets all keep the momentum its really great.

Thanks for all the support .

Sorry to hear that, I guess you sold BTC when it hit $30 as well.

I had QRK since 23rd November. The lucky return I got (>30000%) is far beyond anything that could come in the future (in my eyes).

On top of that I could now buy double the amount of QRK of the Dec.14 sale with the BTC gained -- if I wanted to.

Anyhow as I said, good luck, have fun! I don't hate on Quark and its holders. I am personally out due to different factors.

No offense, be well! hope QRK as well Smiley

is there any point in mining this coin, i heard all the coins have been mined already, so is there any point?

All the coins have not been mined, I think the block reward is at 8. In fact, all the coins will never be mined, once the block reward hits 1 it will stay at 1 forever. In other words there will always be coins to mine.

The other question is it profitable to mine? For you I don't know, for those that mine where they don't pay for electricity it will always be profitable to mine Quark. That is why Quark will always have a viable network, there will always be coins to mine and for somebody it will always be profitable!

Quark's being not profitable to mine is a good think which would make it more valuable.

I don't understand your point. Quark will always have coins to mine! There will be 1 million per year. Mining these will always be profitable for those that don't pay for electricity and depending on price, mining might be profitable for those that do pay for electricity, consequently, Quark will always be mined and so the network will always be viable! This is a very important fact.

But 1 million per year is quite small relative to what's been mined so far. That's why i think this will positively affect the valuation of the coins available, i.e mined ones minus "the lost ones", which is a good thing for the future of QRK.

Good for you !  That was a wise trade for it's time.

Even reinvesting one quarter of the proceeds now would buy you a decent stake again.

At around 7 pence per quark it really isn't out of the reach of anyone to buy and hold some for the medium / long term, so called "second generation coins" like emunie will launch at 10 cents per coin right out of the gate.

Anyone involved in crypto currency's must have noticed the tidal wave of interest building which is going to make 2014 an incredible year for Bitcoin and many alts.

Really to those who's strategy it is to atempt to denigrate another coin in the hopes of shifting market share from that coin to your coin of choice should think twice it reflects badly on the whole altcoin market making it look childish to say the least. Try and reach outside the bitcointalk community all this infighting looks really ugly - my coins better than your coin....... Come on  Grin

I'm just working on some valuations for Quark.  Feel free to jump in here. I'm looking at the market caps in relation to number of coins and each other, as well as the network GH/s rate (need help here).
Of curious interest to me is how Quarks Market Cap will grow differently as there are relatively few coins being mined in relation to the outstanding number of coins. Quite the contrary to BTC/LTC.

Consider BTC is the leader and LTC the clear #2. Check my numbers below, but it is pretty simple and I'm just giving an estimate. Please check!

Market Cap, ratios and number of coins:
BTC has roughly 12 million coins so far with a market cap of around BTC. (Todays price of $764) Prices take fromhttp://coinmarketcap.com/
LTC has roughly 24 million coins so far with a market cap of around BTC. (This is 1/15th the size of BTC) Todays price of $24.76
QRK has roughly 247 million coins so far with a market cap or around $27 Million. (This is BTC the size of BTC. 1/21 the size of LTC.) Todays price of .11

Over the next 3 yrs, BTC will create 1.3 million coins each year, and then for the next 4 years will create 657k new coins per year. At the end of 2019 it should have around 18.5 million coins.
Over the next 2 yrs, LTC will create 10.5 million coins each year, and then 5.26 million coins each year for the next 4 years, then 1.3 million coins the next year, so at the end of 2019, should have 66.9 million coins.
Over the next 6 yrs, Quark will create roughly 6 million more coins. So, that should put us at around 253 million coins at the end of 2019, or there a bouts.
* - I didn't pick 2019 for any particular reason. I just went out 6 years from now. Play with this if you have any reasoning.

At around the end of 2019 we have this many coins and a Market cap (with todays price just for comparisons sake, feel free to play around here.):
BTC 18.5 million coins. $14 Billion
LTC 66.9 million coins. $1.7 Billion (1/8 the price of BTC)
QRK 253 million coins. $27.9 Million (1/500th price of BTC, 1/61 price of LTC)

Notice how much LTC jumps in value (3X it's current value, 1/8 the price of BTC - up from 1/15th) as it is growing so quickly in supply. Now perhaps this just means the price of BTC needs to appreciate more than that of LTC, hence we use the ratio quite often.
Comparatively QRK "depreciates" as not many more coins are coming online relative to it's initial amount and also relative to the ratio compare to the other 2 coins. So, all other things being equal, QRK should appreciate quite a bit.
One can clearly see the aspect of having a coin mostly mined already really changes the equation regarding evaluation is concerned. It's growth model is very different. How do we interpret this?

Network Strength:
BTC's Network is 11.5 Million GH/s Blockchain.info
LTC's Network is 89 GH/s (Scrypt, We can't compare these numbers directly) Litcoin Hashrate
QRK's Network is 678 GH/s (Again, not sure how to compare these numbers, but even more complicated here) Taken from Vircurex's website
(There are other coins with HUGE hash rates on SHA256 e.g. - NMC 8 million, IXC and DEV 4+ million)
Can anyone add something regarding this? I really would like to get an idea of how strong QRK's network is, this is a telling consideration (eventually anyway).

IAS

BTC = Black Swan.
BTC = Antifragile - "Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Robust is not the opposite of fragile.

eMunie is gonna be huge! Dan Hughes the developer is the real deal - this isn't some copy and paste jokecoin, it really is the next gen of cryptocurrencies!

I totally agree with Mjbmonetarymetals's prediction about 2014 being an incredible year for Bitcoin and many alts. I truly believe there is going to be a full blown tidal wave of money pouring into cryptocurrencies and many good alts will skyrocket. Quark is definitely at the top of my list, as is eMunie, Peercoin and Devcoin (I love the philosophy behind Devcoin, where the generated coins go to funding open source projects and artists).

Basically, anyone hopping on board the cryptocurrency train now has an extremely good chance of seeing some truly staggering returns over the years ahead. It's as simple as diversifying your portfolio between a couple of good cryptocurrencies and then buckling your seatbelt for what is surely to be a wild ride.
