You don't consider looking at those top at the marketcap, do you? Ethereum probably is the second that's following the lane of Bitcoin but how about those under him in the marketcap? BCH, LTC, XRP, these are the examples that were going to be the next Bitcoin in line, although ETH was there in the first place that's some of them are still following but you'l never know. We can't predict what the future will bring, so good luck on holding for every single altcoin you have right now they will be a big help to you in the future.

Ethereum will become core cryptocurrency in 2,3 years ahead. Smart contracts, scalability, transactions per sec, and others atribute will push him up.
