Do you guys really think that lending without collateral will work? Since I believe in the future of lending I was torn between Elixir and Ethlend. On paper the idea of "incentive driven" payments sounds great, but I am not convinced it will work in real life in the long run. There are too many people in the need of a credit, who even might have good intentions of paying back in time, but if they run into more financial problems, even with good intentions, they just might not be able to pay back their loan.
So I decided against Elixir and invested in Ethlend.
But I can see that other investors feel differently about the potential of Elixir.

Don't be so sure about it. A little story from cryptoland for you: I held a few XVG for 3 months because it was cheap. On 12th of december I sell those coins for 52 sat because I thought it won't go anywhere. Literally the next day it starts mooning and goes to 2k. (30x+)

Now when you have a solid product, active devs who bring new updates consistently, low coin supply and a low marketcap all it takes is for the stars to align and you will ask yourself: "Why didn't I see it?" ...because hindsight is 20/20. Attention from the right person (someone like McAfee) and that awareness from the public gets directed to something that can last. We have all the necessary ingredients for a successful opportunity.

Didn't pay attention on this coin. the X100 is very interesting I think for a small investment is fine. Less than 10 million capitalization. I think up to 100-300 million shoot will not be so difficult. X30 norms of profit until the spring I think.

There are many reasons why a coin does not skyrocket immediately, first of all most projects have nothing done when the icos ends so it takes a lot of time to develop something and most of the time in this phase you can get a coin for a price cheaper than ico, then the development begins to show results and the price goes higher and finally the price begins pumping and then everyone wants to get in and that is when the price skyrockets.

This project has everything to become one of the best altcoins of 2018, at least because of its tech and practical use, but it's lacking some marketing and exposure (which I think is the right way to make things work. This comment scared me. You are a respected user here, so you know what you're talking about. If that happens, we are talking of one hell of a dip. On the other hand, the project is rock solid and the dev team couldn't be better. This makes my think about my portfolio, which has a lot of Elixir in it. Maybe, if this happens, it won't be until Elixir's value is a lot higher, idk.

PS: Horror stories aside, Elixir's value has stabilized around $1 and for me, that's a good sign (survived last dip like a champ). When do you think the meteoric rise will come? I don't think it's about the tech, to me it's just a matter of marketing, but I don't know when they are going to start it in a serious way. Perhaps they'll enter a big exchange site soon? Would be nice to see it on Binance or Bittrex, the project deserves it.

yeah it is kind of like staking - say i loan my friend $10 and i give him 2 days to pay me back, he does so, and now the $10 he's payed me back is being held for an additional amount of time (say 2 more days) ---> this is the mining function, which is optional. If you are willing to have your funds held in the smart contract for a period of time, you will be rewarded with more tokens.

100 million plus coins is very unlikely unless all EXOR holders waited 10 years to convert their EXOR.  If they all converted today total supply would be 54,649,494, if everyone waiting 10 years from now to convert there would be a total supply of 114,152,694 in 10 years.  Max total supply started around 166,000,000 so as EXOR holders mine the max total supply gets lower.  You have to take into consideration that there are lost coins that will never be mined all which helps keep the max supply down.   At the most you're looking at 70-80 million max total supply.

It wasn't a complaint, it's one of the main coins on my portfolio because I've researched and believe in this project. My question was because I want to understand their behaviour (you know, because I'm learning). Both coins have performed like few, it's just that I wanted to know if there is some fundamental reason why they have behaved differently on this last couple of days, since both projects have posted interesting news recently. You can't really compare the coins vs each other when looking for these reasons, there's 1300+ coins and some are up, some are down, unless they are trying to achieve the exact same purpose don't worry about comparing them. The truth is 98% of anyone posting in this forums has zero idea why certain coins fluctuate absent any actual posted news/updates. Just invest in good projects and enjoy the ride, if you believe in project try and add on the dips and always have an end goal/plan/target so you know when to take profit and move on.

I have a question. Elixir and PRL are the main coins on my portfolio. Both had a similar market cap and circulating supply some days ago, and both released interesting news these days. And needless to say, both are very solid projects with top dev teams. Why do you think PRL rised so fast and Elixir is kind of stuck? I won't sell my Elixirs, because I believe in the project, it's just that I want to understand this difference, which I didn't predict. Anyway, I think both are the perfect coins to hodl.

Agreed, but I think I didn't express myself in the best way. To make it short: In my opinion, Elixir is one of the best projects right now, with best potential and still low market cap. Recently they released interesting news, and the value hasn't changed (I believe it will hit $10 soon, I'm just talking about these last days). On the other hand, PRL's last news made it sky rocket. Even knowing they are entirely different projects, what's the fundamental reason that made one sky rocket and not the other? It's not a matter of patience, I believe both will hit the moon and destroy it, it's just that I want to learn if someone knows what made the difference here. That way, by learning, I can start making better predictions on other coins  . I know this is crypto world, so predictions may be nothing, but it's interesting to think about it.

I don't think the train has left the station yet. Excellent project + good roadmap (specially Q1) + low market cap = a lot of room to grow. This is the kind of coin I think we all are going to look back a couple of months ahead and think "We thought that $1,80 was a high price to buy this?" I could be wrong, but I don't want to make the same mistake I made with XRB (which I still think will rise when it enters bigger exchange sites and the dev fixes the syncing issues). That's my opinion.

We will know the one who failed only in 5 years... Crypto market is still not mature and it will still need some years to get mature !  How many people own crypto currencies in January 2018 ?   it's maybe 0,5% of the world population at best...

So what I mean there is still lot of room for growth for most of the coins...  then we will probably see some mergers of projects or acquisition like for traditonal companies and then the market will stabilize and we won't see anymore big profit like we've seen in the early stage


Another move we will see is that entering the crypto market (for new companies) and developping their own blockchain will get more and more expensive. We will see less and less new project. Even creating token on ERC20 (ETH) will get too expensive for most of newcomers

It's a good decision ! Maybe we will have another dip and it will go down a lot, and we can buy it at a good price but in the long term I think it doesnt really matter when you buy it because Elixir is most likely to go up few weeks ago it was at more than 2 dollars.

A lot of investors are now shocked (and/or lost their money) with BitConnect. Elixir is different than BCC but unfortunately it falls into the same category - "lending coin". I bought some more in the dip. I think Elix will bet to 2 USD in March.

Each coin is just waiting their turn on Kucoin for their moon. As soon as ELIX devs drop some news, it will happen. They're normally pretty quiet, so we just need to wait. I expect late this week.

Mostly BCC idea as I read about this scam was to get up to 480% investment in a year just for holding BCC - for nothing, money grows on trees, typical ponzi scheme. Ideas to understand this interest were creative - they use A.I trading and other solutions like lending that's why your money grows like these on trees
In elixir there is nothing like interest for nothing, yes you can get interest but only by doing something, like borrowing elix to someone, and when someone is paying you back - pays more than you lend. You can't find any comparision of ponzi scheme in this project, it's clearly impossible

Biggest sleeper in 2018. Once the devs release the new site and reveal themselves and release the mvp, we're looking at 10x easily. For .30 cents this coin is an absolute steal! These devs are going about this project the old school crypto way! No big million dollar ico, just good ol' fashioned hard work and dedication!
 

I think if MVP is already running and there is already a good sign with the project the developer team will already show the potential that the project is in progress. if it can develop as it is presented there may be many investors who will be interested
