Hi, I just wanna ask how to overcome depression? I have a friend and she keeps telling me that she don't to live anymore and that it is better to die, she has lot of problems but she just keep it on her own, she is so depress and i can't find the right words to make her feel better. And also can't a person overcome depression on his/her own?
It's never easy to overcome depression. Be with your friend always let her know that you're always there for her. Listening is one of the best way to help your friend.
For me the best way to overcome depression is to meditate yourself, don't face the problems alone instead you go to your friends or family and share to them.

Your friend must learn to appreciate life! You must take him to a home for the elderly or disabled. And then show him something bright from life, for example, a jump with a parachute!

Identify what is depressing you and change it. The problem is that if it's something that you can't change, say getting older, then there's not much you can do there.

Likewise. I need some answers on how to get out from depression. I am married now for 3 years and was happy about it. Yet, last time as I come to check her facebook account I found something that is very suspicious and try to go deeper with the issue without my partners knowledge. We trust each other we do not check our phones yet I do not know last time that there is feeling that I need to check my partners phone. And now seems that I was feeling betrayed by my friend. I never thought the they shared sweet messages and even dating secretly. TI was so depressed right now since I am married with my partner already. How could I move on without breaking the My God's Oath. My decision is not yet clear and I hope to rrad some of the postings here. I was just trying to post here so that I could be able to do an update reading regardong with how to get out from deprrssion. Hopefully I could get some answers here in this thread.

Listening to music can be very useful to fight depression. It helped me a lot whenever I faced depression and my friends are not around. But my first choice, obviously would be to be with my friends. No amount of music can be as helpful as your friends.

I wouldn't recommend seeking professional support, unless the situation is extreme. If you go to a psychiatrist, then he is most likely to give you drugs such as Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft.etc. These drugs are not very safe and some of them can be very addictive. It will be better if you could manage your depression without the help of these drugs.

The one is eat healthy foods.  There is no magic diet that fixes depression.  It's a good idea to watch what you eat, though.  If depression tends to make you overeat, getting in control of your eating will help you feel better.  Although nothing is definitive, Cook says there's evidence that foods with omega-3 fatty acids (such as salmon and tuna) and folic acid (such as spinach and avocado) could help ease depression. And don't forget to get enough sleep. Depression can make it hard to get enough shut-eye, and too little sleep can make depression worse.

there is always a reason behind depression. unexplained or overwhelming sadness can be a symptom  of depression. and it's not easy to overcome  it. depressed people tend to see the world in a negative way. i think the best cure it is through family support, love and understanding. other ways to combat depression is to take one task at a time you will slowly rebuild your sense of self by having achieved small accomplishments like preparing a meal, tending to your grooming by showering and wearing clean clothes, listening to music and to slowly interact again with people. you have to think small so you can slowly master your domains in terms that are manageable,that are within your ability at the time. gradually you build confidence and ability to cope. all this takes patience and time. maybe even years. the road to recovery is slow. do what you can to build the inner you, one step at a time. and also try to seek professional help.

Depression was a critical stage actually, after this is suicidal. Therefore, if your in this situation you must think all the positive ways about the things that can give or make you smile like being with your love ones, family, and closest friends. So if this happen your depression level for sure will change into a good ways of thinking.
