It depends on what you define as 'successful'... If your only goal is to get as much funding as possible, then it's easy, just spend a lot of money on promoting your ICO on different advertisement channels and you're done.

If you want your actual project to be a success, you need to invest more into the development of your idea. If you have a great idea and a working prototype, the rest will follow.
This is a lot more important than just getting enough funding through an ICO.

There is the problem: if you have a good product and nobody knows about it this product is useless

If nobody does know about your product then probably marketing or introducing it to public isn't really effective at all because it impossible to think off that project would become successful and people doesn't know about the product? Its actually not collaborated on the thing you do said on here because we do know if product did succeed then its understable that people knows about it for sure.

At present, a lot of projects are being developed, so it is difficult for your project to get the attention of everyone. However, it is imperative for a successful project. So, your project must have something special, which makes it stand out from hundreds of other projects.

You need a LOT of marketing and an entire team of people for each category you're going for. If it's super techy, you'll need the best of the best. Decent starting capital. $250K minimum if you're looking to raise more than a few million. $500K-1M recommended.

There ate a lot of ICO projects in Bitcoin talk. And all we want here is to make our project successful.

That is why we launch bounty campaigns, visit blockchain events, pay big money to media an so on.

However, it's not a secret that the best ads is a world of mouth. But it is too difficult to make people talking to their friends about your project.

If your ICO includes event organisation, there is the way how you can make people talking about you. KickCity is building a decentralized reward-based event marketing protocol on blockchain. Having worked with many event organizers, it became obvious that their biggest problem is selling tickets or getting registration. We are solving this problem by creating incentives. Rewarding anyone to promote events. This simply means that users can invite their friends and when their friends buy tickets, they earn Tokens (Cryptocurrency), while the user who bought ticket gets a kind of cash back — motivation to buy more tickets on KickCity platform. KCY tokens can be used to buy tickets on the platform and can also be converted to FIAT.

In your opinion, what can help to make a project successful?

If the goal is SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bounded) promotion of project is not hard. You need only a core team to promote.
Let your core team to experience about your project or product. Their experience will be a tool to a free promotions. Words of promotion will like rain about your project.

You need to act in the most compliant way. Build a strong community with strong trust with your potential investors. I do believe it will help you to gain success.
I think this is too difficult.Team work is more important to, make this project successful.Plan according to the reviews,to have a better idea.
Why did i say this before, if you think you have a great idea but no one support you, it will be useless. If you have support but no great idea, you can make money from them.

If you have ability to build a strong relationship with investors, there will be no dumper, and they will naturally let your token's price rises as the product being developed.

I think one of the ways to make a project successful is to use a link back from our various online presence such as website, blog site, and other social media pages. This will help the project page rank high in search engine. The popularity and trust enjoyed the project due to online presence will go a long way to sell the it into the heart of would-be investors.

Thanks

For a great project you need a great team. Hire the best professionals you can afford. Put extra time to find the right people - this will save you a lot of time in the future. Remember that good professionals are easy to motivate. Imagine them your vision of the project and how they can translate it. Be confident and trust your team. Let them feel that they are appreciated and they will be on top.

There isn't much difference between a coin or a ICO for success, I would like to quote mr Ellis on this,
The first step is to find a community and build a ICO around them rather than building a ICO and expecting everyone to show up,
Ellis says. “It has to be sensitive to their needs and be relevant to their cultural heritage and background.”

Good concept with details information functional and Team work. There are few statements which creates some ico coins project are more easier than how to maintains it after. With good solid Dev team work, this project will surviving competition with others. Another important things are how the protection of investors’ interests. You should also make sure that there is a process in place for the returning of the funds to their contributors - there is always a possibility that you will fail to reach the targets and will be forced to roll the campaign back.

1. you need money to get things done - get hardware, software, publicity
2. things are done - you have software, hardware, publicity
3. be agile and update often. do not leave room for people's doubts.
4. try to get on as many markets as possibile and make a wallet for max number of platforms.

it takes a good and solid team for a project to be successful

IMO, A team is something you can build after that you have that great idea. And failure is for some just a stepping stone in their way to success.

If you have that great idea, stick to it and work on it until you are sure it's ready. Search for a way to implement it and once you think you are done, start by learning what needs to be done in order to introduce it to the community. Look for the best developers in the field, the best marketing team and a good community manager.

We need to remember that every successful project out there -crypto or not crypto related- comes out of one mind, the team behind is only there to contribute with the implementation of the vision of that one mind.

Good luck!

This is a very difficult to answer because there are many factors that can impact in the success of any kind of project. If an ICO project has a dedicated teem there are more chances that the project will be successful. The project also needs a specific plan, market segmentation and good marketing policy. For more successful you can hire a campaign manager.
