No it's not, it is because Ripple is not decentralized. The goal of cryptocurrency is the decentralization like bitcoin doing right now, there's no government or institution that can control the price itself. The last year pump is all HYPE.

Regardless if it's decentralized or not, it's still very likely to be the currency of the future in the sense that it might get adopted by banks and so on first.

And this is coming from someone who really hates ripple as well.

I don't agree with you, because if it just used by the banks it will make it a tool for transactions, not a currency. Ripple is not bad project but it is very far of the currency of the future.

Maybe ripple can't overtake the place of bitcoin, since bitcoin is the first successful coin ever created in crypto and no doubt that it is the pillar of all the Altcoin. We are getting near to the digital era and the world will change in terms of monetary transaction and everything in technology. Every society will become cashless and bitcoin will lead the way.

maybe we can always see the development of crypto ripple coins, if conditions are good and stable we can make an investment to get profit. so now it is still a risky situation we have to be patient.

Ripple is really a successful project. It has earned the trust of so many influential organizations and private companies in world. Some of the Japanese Banks for example are trying to integrate the Ripple technology into their own systems. Even a few UN bodies are doing the same. But the concern here is that while the technology is widely used and appreciated, the coin is not as utilized. I see the potential in this coin , but i dont think it will grow fast and need more time to be compete in the top 10 cryptocurrency , but the value for this coin is slowly up and sure it will go better every year , i have attention for this coin , and save a little in my wallet , soon when it reach 5-10$ , it's time for me to get a vacation. I do not think ripple became the currency of the future as what many investors expected.  It is more possible that bitcoin became the currency of the future.  Bitcoin is the father of all cryptos and other altcoins are basically patterned from bitcoin.
