Giveaways are not allowed for quite some time (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434310.0), so you are risking with a possible thread lock, guys  Smiley
What about fake giveaways  Cheesy
"you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads", so it doesn't really matter whether it's fake or not  Grin

Would love some free ZET!

ZX4EpjoqgJHMGNtczc6YU7735pcT8yJn6A

will you settle for some of bobby's salty tears?

Honest Tim - you are giving away ZET coins? Smiley

Yes, but only to those who DESERVE it. Such as people who don't mine, or didn't buy any when it was cheap, or who only want some now because the price has risen a bit. I try to make it as fair as possible.

Ha ha... Not sure if I deserve any but... Never took much notice of Zetacoin until it rose 5x and was pretty suspicious. Have bought in now though, 1200 ZET @ 4500 sat or so. Not going to chase any pumps but am going to wait and see what happens. I do mine but just with a single 7850...

If only your philosophy were more broadly shared. I don't do shit except surf the internet all day long and the only thing my boss has ever given me is attitude.

However, I wouldn't ask for coins. What I'd ask for is information - does anyone know when we find out this big news for sure? I was a serious skeptic and I came here to be a smartass last night but someone in this thread explained the m-pesa rumors to me and I bought 100k. I've done a lot of work in developing countries and I absolutely believe that integrating crypto into worker remittances and transfers in the developing world would be THE killer app for digital currency. But it's been 24 hours already and the suspense is killing me. Is this happening or isn't it?

I will. It seems like a very promising possibility.

I do have nagging doubts though. M-pesa could pretty much dictate the terms of any deal, so what they would want is the key, and I can't exactly figure that out. Why link up with an existing coin instead of simply paying a developer to create a Vodafone or m-pesa branded coin? It seems like that would meet their needs as well or better than simply adopting zeta as a medium of exchange. Maybe this reduces risk of storing value for them - their model would be simply charging for exchange and transfer fees, but crypto removes their costs for banking and securing the money? I dont know. I'd be interested to hear what people think about that. But basically, I'm prepared to set that aside and hold while we all wait find out.

Agreed Cheesy

People still seem to think that you rub two sticks together and produce something that the world has never enjoyed before. Development takes time. Big development takes more time.

If nothing was mentioned leading up to this news and all of a sudden the biggest secret was released to the press, you'd all cry that you didn't have time to buy when it was cheap. When you get a little teaser as a hint that you should be accumulating ZET, you cry that the news is never coming.

Thanks Honest Tim for showing us that we still have greedy people about. ZBAD is about making a coin that everyday people can use and they continue to work until that is done.

Actually, I think this link from Googling "mpesa security" begins to answer my question. It looks like the administrative costs, customer service issues, and liability for funds, is indeed a major headache for mobile operators. Perhaps crypto simply let's them continue to rake in usage fees while offloading liability and management costs - let's them reap the fees while retaining focus on their core business.

http://www.kictanet.or.ke/?p=713

Still, they have a system that is working, although apparently not always smoothly. I would guess any zetacoin integration would be on some kind limited, pilot basis initially. But I agree the details and practical challenges of actually doing this would no doubt be momentous, and it won't happen overnight.

Any love for someone who bought into Mintcoin at the almost absolute high of 60 only to sell at 1/4 of that price. Then invested all of the remaining amount into Zetacoin at 6100. Watched it triple, then fall to half of what I bought it for. Wasn't a small amount of coins either..  Sad Still holding for the long term though. Believe is a promising coin.

and secondly, would you be willing to stroke the bunny?

If Bitcoinsachs is truly responsible for all the crap listed in that anonymous article he should do as advised and fess up, come clean. Personally I couldn't care less about the guy or his pumping. All this recent noise does nothing to sway my opinion of ZET, I've mined, traded, and still hold it long term. It' s a fun, fast, and solid coin, imo.

I do agree with the below paragraph from that post:

"Some netizens are so worried about the future of Zetacoin because of your history, they have already written it off. I am not so quick to judge, as I think you and the team have done some amazing work thus far and it could (read 'could') have a very bright future as a transactional system to accompany Bitcoin's 'gold' status. This is an AMAZING opportunity. You/we could change many people's lives for the better, forever. Please do not squander it over arrogance, narcissism and hubris."

Wow I can't believe you bought into that dribble, if you are so gullable as to think bitcoinsachs was anyhow involved you are in for a long hard alt coin road. Greed will turn any man into an animal, but give credit to those amongst us that still choose to be men.

Anyway if there is more to this coin than the recent price pumps I do have a suggestion that might be helpful. I may be a crypto-currency enthusiast but I don't have a single mobile wallet. I have a Windows phone, Nokia Lumia 925. Great phone but there isn't even a Bitcoin wallet I would use on it, the single one I have tried would require me to turn off 2FA on a blockchain.info hot wallet, no thanks.

I'm not sure how hard it is to code a wallet on windows phone, I could help out if I knew more about what was involved. In theory though a mobile wallet could work on both Windows phone and have another use on the Windows 8 app store. I just signed up for the windows 8.1 phone developer preview, and it is a very slick update indeed. What might make sense for Zetacoin to look here as well is the fact that Windows phone has become very popular in parts of the world like Latin America with the adoption of good budget Nokia phones like the 530. Windows phone may be overlooked in the US but a few good apps might make it look more attractive. For people like myself I don't want to buy an android phone just to use a mobile wallet, nor do I want an iPad while iOS is still making it difficult for cryptos on their store.
