For me possibly to yes. History is littered with currencies that failed and are no longer used, such as the German Mark during the Weimar Republic and, more recently, the Zimbabwean dollar. Although previous currency failures were typically due to hyperinflation of a kind that Bitcoin makes impossible, there is always potential for technical failures, competing currencies, political issues and so on. As a basic rule of thumb, no currency should be considered absolutely safe from failures or hard times. Bitcoin has proven reliable for years since its inception and there is a lot of potential for Bitcoin to continue to grow. However, no one is in a position to predict what the future will be for Bitcoin.

Exactly. No one can know what the future holds and everything is possible.
I believe that most likely scenario where Bitcoin loses all it's worth is due to some critical security vulnerability that can not be fixed.
However that is unlikely by itself.

Yes it can be possible for Bitcoin to become worthless. When the world goes against it and make it illegal to use then it will become nothing in no time. It is hard to predict if this will ever happen though.

It could become worthless, just like the us dollar could collapse and could become worthless. But I don't think we'll see it happen to bitcoin.

Theoretically it can, but personally I think this is very unlikely due to a good number of people in the crypto space that are really really dedicated to ensure bitcoin's success. Though I also think it only takes one sort of ban from a huge country like the United States to crash bitcoin's price to 3 or even 2 digits.

In the worst scenario it could become worthless.
Exactly on that subject I have read the newspapers article the other day which said that the price of Bitcoin depends on the group of enthusiasts and that it could easily become worthless.
I didn't give much importance to that and personaly I don't think Bitcoin will become worthless at least not so simple, the whole negative process that would last for a while should start before that. Nothing happens over night.

It is possible. But just because it is possible doesn't mean it will happen. Sure, the price of the bitcoin unpredictably changes, but it can only go down as far as merely half or fraction. Still, better to be well-prepared for anything.

There is a 0.01% chance that bitcoin will become worthless and 99.99% chance that bitcoin will continue to have value. Every time there is one person who lose confidence on bitcoin there will be 2 or more than that will gain interest in bitcoin. We are in the digital era more and more people will gain interest in digital objects and young people nowadays are optimistic and wise.  Cool

I think if there is no demand for bitcoin probably it will become worthless. Another thing, if the people's trust will decline on bitcoin that may however become a problem. Currently, bitcoin is still going stronger in which chances of becoming worthless for me is not that possible.

I agree that nobody can surely know what will be the price of Bitcoin in the future, it is possible of course that Bitcoin can be worthless but it is also possible that it can be the most expensive thing on Earth.

All we can do now is to enjoy the price and try to trade and earn from cryptocurrency market.

Yes, there is always a possibility since there are many competencies and once there are some great issues and problems regarding to Bitcoin, people can easily transfer to another cryptocurrencies. Although we will never know. Lets just hope it will not fail.

Bitcoin wont go worthless, that is on my personal view, because it is already in the landmark of stock market. It may change from time to time, may evolve and differ but its value wont become worthless. Also, Bitcoin will be improved for the next coming years so it wont become worthless.

I agree with you opinion. It took Bitcoin nearly ten years to achieve wide recognition. The foundation is very solid now and only drastic changes may cause it to be worthless. It's unlikely to happen though.

I agree. Since bitcoin is decentralized, the governments will always put them in the hot seat. And it is also true that bitcoin can be affected by the inflation.

Well that is the problem, the TECH has already failed, but the newbs didn't get the memo.

The sky has been falling on the BTC tech-failure since 2012

What kind of catastrophic failure? Me thinks a massive orchestrated transfer of coins, by the broken ecdsa sig algo, then core will patch code, and roll out a new sig algo, it will take weeks and exchanges will panic,

Transpire something like this it will,

GOV doesn't collapse overnight, etiher will BTC

Collapse will be slow, years to zero, maybe in ten years ppl will still use it, there will be BTC collectors, but majority 99% of our day trading parasites will have moved on  to a new host

GOV will also bring out the soldiers to shoot bank-run ppl, MONEY GOV-CASH is backed by GUN

WHat BTC be backed by? GREED and nothing more

Once the Greed turns to Panic, BTC could rush to zero in days

Yes, both are unlikely to happen but theoretically can happen. Most important thing about BTC is that it has the value just because people give it the value, cut the demand and price will come tumbling down. While in case of USD the government gives it the value so unless the government is to fall usd won't fall.

Yes! nothing is impossible. It depends on The Will Of The People, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies like it, require trust in order for them function. In reality, all currencies require trust, or they would not be viable. If the majority don’t agree that a currency has any value, then it no longer has any value. People have trusted paper currencies for years, despite the fact that these currencies are backed by institutions that regulate and control the flow of money, and therefore the flow of value. Even with the rampant corruption in the Federal Reserve and the masked frailty of the American economy, everyone continues to have faith that the US dollar has value.

As you have rightly said no one can predict the future of any currency as there are a lot of issues that can have impacts on them in the coming years, and bitcoin is not and exception. But bitcoin has proved to have survived for some year now without any major failure and at that bitcoin is going to be around for some time. But what we must understand is that what ever that is of great value can also become valueless so if currencies failed it will not be a new thing.

I doubt bitcoin becoming worthless, since it is very much popular and people made huge investment , still becoming worthless may not be correct, as we can see in the past also it was dropped , And again it is started rising and now the stage it is at nearly $14000, but we need to wait and watch happens ,still there is a hope .

Anything can be happen whether it is good or bad. However bitcoin bocme worthless only if all user and investors of bitcoin will disappear all of a sudden of course. For sure the value will rapidly goes down 100% until it drop to zero value. But as long as there is users and investors remain in bitcoin ti won't happen that it will become worthless.

Definitely yes, and that is the reason why the bitcoin bubble prophecy is created. Like a bubble bitcoin price can grow as much but would burst when it reach it's limitation. When time comes that people lose trust to btc future as investment to yield huge profit and not consider buying lot of btc anymore then it would be worthless.

There is a possibility to become worthless but so little because of many people were interested to invest on it. They are doing their best to promote bitcoin, like in social media such as facebook, tweeter and other more. The more the people get involve in bitcoin the lesser the chance it become worthless.

the threat of bitcoin failure in 2018,
this makes some people experience when
and sell their bitcoin so the price keeps falling.
does this matter a lot?
of course because the currency is now much affected by the sale price of bitcoin

No one knows for sure about that we can't predict the future  there's so many things may happen it may become the worlds currency or it may become worthless since the government see the bitcoin as a threat to their economy but what if all the country looks at bitcoin as a threat right? and yes it may really become worthless when the price reaches 0 or if any technical features about bitcoin may have a problem of course people will going to look for a new safe, advance, etc. cryptocurrencies.

So yes, it may happend and it may not. We don't know what will happend in the next few days or weeks but one thing is for sure it will not be worthless this year.

Certainly i agree, if more people doesn't have any interest on bitcoin then possibly happen next is there is lot of selling than buying, so a lot of supply than the demand until it reaches it smallest value as its value drop into smallest  then more people will get uninterested to bitcoin and i think that is the time that bitcoin value become worthless.

Yes, it is possible for bitcoin to become worthless. Once people discover a new digital currency that would provide same benefits and same or greater profitability, they would transfer to that currency and bitcoin would lose value in the process. Or, if digital currencies would be banned or illegal, then the market price would also drop to zero.

The only thing I believe can cause the fall of Bitcoin is community giving up on it. When bitcoin stops becoming useful, or people prefer to use other currencies to transfer or hold money it could very well become worthless. But I do not see that happening anytime soon or ever in the future.

Bitcoin will probably never really fail in the sense that it is basically a household name by now and isn't going to be losing its community anytime soon. A majority of people probably don't even realize that there are a ton more cryptocurrencies that exist and they think Bitcoin is the only one, or at least part of a very limited group. It also rolls off the tongue and is a lot easier for someone to remember than "Ethereum", and "Ripple" isn't something most people would be able to associate with the crypto easily. But what do I know, I'm just some pleb on the internet.

Yes your concern is right as no one in this world can predict what will happen in the future in not just currency but in all aspects of life.In past many currencies has dissolved but these currencies where individual hasn't had any other option but it is not the case with bitcoin as it has alts to cover.Alts are the one which stables the bitcoin in critical situations. Believe it or not if bitcoin goes down the whole crytocurrencies goes down .This market is not run by people who started this but it is run by new people who invest in it. New people who invest even in alts does with a trust that they have in bitcoin.Bitcoin is brand of whole crypto company and if this goes down it it is a downfall of whole crypto world. Which is unlikely to happen.

It's possible for bitcoin to become worthless. Not only bitcoin but other cryptocurrency too but the chance of that happen into bitcoin is really small right now. If you look at the bitcoin price, bitcoin stay strong right now. Bitcoin become worthless if the value dropped so hard back to $3k or even less. There must be something big happened if bitcoin become worthless.

It is very unlikely that bitcoin price would go down to zero. The price of crypto coin is mainly affected by three factors - technical value, popularity and the big organization or giant whales behind it. For bitcoin, it has another unique feature - first one. So, I bet it will at least keep the current high value in the future. However, if you are talking about other altcoins, they depends on those factors. Many of them have multiple competitors serving the same issue. Thus, their prices are not guaranteed to maintain since they may be gradually out of the view of the public. Smiley

Nobody can precisely predict whether the value of bitcoin  could go to zero or millions or not since it is a new currency and globally popular. The currency is yet in development stage and this makes it really difficult to predict its worth. The possibilities are on both the sides and I strongly believe that bitcoin has  more potential to succeed and be worth of millions. The possiblity for it to depreciate in price might come true if the currency does not solve the current problems such as huge fees and confirmation delay but I believe that the lightning network will solve these issues.

Yes and No. Bitcoin is mostly like life without someone value you, in time you feel worthless. Romantico. But seriously as this point in time that is totally a no, no. So take your negativity out of your life as it is a new year for cryptocurrency and 2018 new increases will continue.

I think it's far off because once the value of bitcoin costs once the investors are buying it and for sure it's too big for them to increase the price because now, its price is high and I think it's not possible to lose the bitcoin price because nowadays there are many who trust it, and it's legit all over the world.

Many currency failed because it is not accepted by the people. Any currency become valuable if people believe that is has value. That is the concept of money. If people do not have confidence in a certain currency, nobody will invest on it, then it will failed. Those currency fate will not gonna happen in bitcoin? Why? Because it is widely accepted and many people have confidence in bitcoin. This is proven on it's growing community. Many people testify that they earned from investing bitcoin. Plus the fact that many people predicted that it is the currency of the future. So, bitcoin will never become worthless.

Of course, yes. That is very possible. We are talking of possibilities here. And if we talk about possibilities, there is no telling which one will happen or not. Everything's pretty much possible, my friend. But as to how possible is possible, that is something we can discuss about. For Bitcoin to become worthless, it is enough that the people supporting it will withdraw their support. As easy as that. Bitcoin is not representing anything at all but the support of these people. And if this support is gone, Bitcoin will also be gone. But as of now, the support is getting stronger.

Bitcoin is a method of payment and a digital currency that was launched in 2009. It has been described as “cash for the internet” and the price of all bitcoins in circulation currently amounts to USD 1.5 billion. One of its key features is its decentralized structure that prevents regulation of the currency by a central authority or bank. It is this aspect of Bitcoin that is trumpeted by Utopian libertarians who see it as the embryo of capitalism without regulation or control, a dream that is already being scuppered by the realities of the modern world.

Others see Bitcoin simply as an opportunity to get rich quick and then get out before the bubble bursts, and in that sense Bitcoin paints a microcosmic picture of the nightmarish short-termism and irresponsibility that is the hallmark of capitalism in decline. It is hardly surprising that such a phenomenon should take off in the midst of a global crisis of capitalism.

According to some, the technology pioneered by Bitcoin and other so-called crypto-currencies is potentially game-changing when it comes to online transactions, with as much potential for a revolution in payment processing as Napster was able to achieve with music downloads. However, what is already becoming clear is that this technology can never be used to its full potential under capitalism: to really unleash the power of technology in all fields, not least in online transactions, we require a socialist plan of investment in technology and a plan for the use of technology to develop the economy in the interests of need and not profit.

There are high chances that it may become but still people are buying it and trading it because of its growing demand. The only problem is regulation which has to be taken care of to be in the market for long time. Still all depends on the financial institution mindset as well. Let's hope for the best.

I think yes. In our world there is nothing permanent, so bitcoin can become useless. Maybe come in sight another crypto currency, which will be better than bitcoin. Anything can be, it's hard to predict what will happen in the future.

There is always that possibility; however, I would say that since it is in a good place right now, gaining so much value and attention in the last few months, it is very difficult to take it down and lose value right now. Also, with the years under its belt, bitcoin has come to a point where it has the capacity to adjust quite quickly and come back strongly against any negative market trend and movement. I think for it to become worthless per se, there should be another cryptocurrency that should overshadow it, or another market movement similar to cryptocurrency that would kill of the cryptocurrency vibe.

All can become worthless if economy, community and society found particular service or goods and commodities' loss its significant, if we bitcoin can't deal with the demand of buyers everyday and the miners fee ot transaction fee is getting higher and higher bitcoin will possible loss its significant as a means of payment or investment

This could happen since the value of bitcoin is subjective, i.e. if people would find it worthless, then it will become worthless. This also applies to all currencies that don't have reserves, e.g. fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies.

It can happen any moment. It is just sufficient that one big whale decides to cash out or that they want to destroy their toy and the price can tank to zero. Satoshi Nakamoto's 1 Million BTC are still sitting there on the blockchain, ready to be dumped perhaps one day - and on that day Bitcoin would go to zero.

It surely can, and I think, in the bitcoin market, everything is possible. There was a time when bitcoin was just a little over a dollar in value, and during that time, many people think that it won't prosper, but look at it now. If we would also follow the previous trends, there were times when bitcoin price have decreased significantly due to market breakdown and forks. Another contributory factor is if people would actually stop supporting the cryptocurrency market, specifically bitcoin. If no one would support it and do transactions with, then it will surely be its doom.

Bitcoin currency is holding nearly 50% share in total cryptocurrency market. It is the most popular and highest returning giving crypto ever. Its investors have confidence and trust over it. As a result ban by many countries made no effect on bitcoin investors and its rising price. Currencies are volatile in nature. Bitcoin is a decentralised, peer to peer operating currency; its volatility is more than other currencies. Bitcoin price can fall down may come to $1000, buut it will never become worthless. Many countries are ready to accept bitcoin but they want it regulated.

Correct, no ones predict what will become the future of bitcoin. Bitcoin is really stable in the marketing price although there are ups and downs still the price is not too much drop at very low price. Bitcoin will become useless without internet, it will be no use without software or hardware wallet or the safest wallet where we need to store it. Bitcoin has many kinds of so called disadvantages when we all think about it but even there are disadvantages there are also advantages on using it.

Exactly. No one can know what the future holds and everything is possible.
I believe that most likely scenario where Bitcoin loses all it's worth is due to some critical security vulnerability that can not be fixed.
However that is unlikely by itself.

You are right, No one knows what will happen in the future and we never know when the value in the market will rise or fall and because of that, Bitcoins is a very good investment if you are a businessman and you really want to earn more profit then work hard each day.

It is possible. It all depends on the economy and those who are into the mining. But, I really do not think bitcoin will lose its worth anytime soon. Bitcoin is really changing the world.

Short answer: Yes. It won't be due to hyperinflation obviously but it could easily be surpassed by something eventually and fall out of favor. If nobody uses bitcoin or moves onto something far superior then I think that would be the end of bitcoin. I don't think it will happen any time soon and I think there will now always be some sort of crypto or decentralized currency but there's no guarantees it will be bitcoin. I hope I'm wrong but if something can solve all the issues or problems bitcoin has then I think it could dominate the market but then years down the link problems may arise with that currency and something may come around to dominate that one as well so I think we'll see some sort of Darwinian natural selection emerging where the best coin prospers.

i dont think bitcoin will become worthless at least in the very far future, bitcoin is still very popular nowadays, and not easy for bitcoin to die because it is still very new and still rising more in the future, so bitcoin will not become worthless for now.

there is many unexpected possibilities that bitcoin will become worthless. one would be when there is no internet anymore but in our generation today i will give .01% chance that internet will go down. we should be at least ready for the unexpected possibilities.

Frankly speaking, No.
Bitcoin can't just become worthless because people support it, even some countries has legalized bitcoin as legal payment method.
The amount of money that has been invested to support bitcoin environment (mining farms and exchanges) over Millions of Dollars just to make sure, bitcoin still in circulation and can be used worldwide. The underlying technology of bitcoin is a perfect solution as a better monetary system, it can't be hacked or change the blocks. After scale problem resolved, it will start to rise again.

I don't think bitcoin will be worthless now or in the future. Although there are flaws we are encountering right now, bitcoin is still considered as a solid structure where all other coins just rely on.

It is not impossible. It can happen to any currency, specially to a currency without even a smidge of a gold reserve. Bitcoins literally came from nothing to something worth thousands and thousands of dollars. If the giant bubble of bitcoins burst, then it will probably lose value.

i don't really think its going anywhere. i think btc is a huge threat to other traditional currencies and if anything will shut down some of those banks who don't recognize whats coming. The potential to build weather in crypto is so much better than in banks. people are getting behind this thing every second. in 3-5 years we will be riding the train while the naysayers will be running to catch up. i'm not worried about it, but just don't keep all your eggs in one basket.
Bitcoin will not become and will never become worthless as per today we can see that bitcoin has been one of the growing industry in the whole world, and a lot of countries are using bitcoin to be part of their economy as they are seeing a great opportunity for this one.

Truly said, this kind of predictions are not as easy as they seems to be. The real currencies also sometimes need to face the demonetisation and that leads to disturbance in the nation economy. In the same way it could happen with bitcoin and then bitcoin devaluation can affect the whole market in bad way. However the real question is whether bitcoin really gonna get drained up any time soon? According to me it is really impossible to happen as bitcoin's market capitalisation is way high and there is no point where this much market cap will go of the record. 300 billion is big thing and it took 100's of years for Gold to achieve that kind of market. Considering that fact I'm sure everything looks positive in the bitcoin world. Other crypto currencies are also important to keep up the race and thus everything here is interlinked for better future.

There will always be a chance for that to happen but it is too early to say it.
Not because there is a saying that history repeats itself means it will happen again.

Bitcoin is young and now it is a different story. A lot of investors came in, with that it cannot be easily broken for many will be mad about it that might cause chaos in this world.  Grin

When a currency is fully backed by people's perceptions there is always room for that currency to become worthless.

So in short, yes.

But I honestly do not think it can realistically lose all of its value. It's an extremely plausible solution to digital money. and its only going to grow in the coming years.

Bitcoin has been growing with fluctuations happening quite often. Another thing is that, more marketplace has begun to accept bitcoin, some used to terminate the bitcoin acceptance in a short because they don't get the expected business through the same. It requires time for growth and after certain time period surely the growth will be progressing and won't let it go down or worthless.

High fees = low BTC price

I remember BTC at $0.15 and it was just being past around as a play thing and the fees were like
$0.0000001 so working backwards based on silly fees like we have today just what will it be worth because
rotting fruits don't trade as well.

BTC is losing ground to the other alt-coins and this is the reason so it could well fall off a cliff if the
rot is not stopped

Bitcoin was the first but that does not mean it is 100% safe. Just a crisis. Investors stop pumping money on the coin. You always have to protect yourself. Today it is the price of 15k $ tomorrow may be 100 $.

Becoming useless, it means losing all value. The value of bitcoin as a crypto currency is determined by the demand for it of people. That is, bitcoin will become useless in the event that it will lose the demand for it people. In the near future, this is not expected, since the demand for it is only increasing. What will happen next with confidence in bitcoin, no one can know.
There is still a possibility of actual depreciation of bitcoin due to the termination of access to it through the absence of the Internet itself, however such a development is unlikely. For this, either a catastrophe of a planetary scale or something like the third world war must occur.

Hi,

Of course, I don't hope for that. Still, I think that the bitcoin can indeed become worthless. The main reason for that is that bitcoin cannot be used currently as a daily currency. If no service is developped accordingly, bitcoin may die.. just because it won't be of any use.

We are not on that slope... but it may still happen!

Bitcoin is different paper money which is printed by the government. Bitcoin is limited and it is not inflation. So, the demand for Bitcoin always rise, this leads the price goes up too. So, Bitcoin cannot die.

Yes it can fail, if people stop investing in it and it is not adopted by the mainstream. At present I see Bitcoin as its own worst enemy, the crazy price fluctuations and high cost of transactions is what holds it back, if it does not evolve it is definitely possible to become worthless

It can if people would find bitcoin inconvenient. Nowadays, bitcoin had been having problems with transactions sometimes. Transactions are delayed, transaction fees are too expensive, and so on. However, people still believe in bitcoin and it's potential to dominate cryptocurrency for a long time. So, the odds of bitcoin being worthless is too low.

You can't compare bitcoin with some useless fiat such as German Mark, and Zimbabwean dollar. In fact, I don't think you need anyone to tell you bitcoin has a future because you don't need anyone to. Bitcoin is digital, fast, and decentralized. it was selling below a dollar (USD) 7 years ago and look at it now selling at $15k+ and bitcoin is not done yet it may reach up to $100k this year 2018. Keep using such sentiments you'll regret later! Tongue

Bitcoin would become worthless if internet connection would not be available anymore. Worst case scenario is the beginning of World War III. Another thing is if the technology  would not be upgraded which is impossible to happen.

I think that it is impossible at the moment. Bitcoin is just too strong to fall in this hierarchy. Maybe in the future we will witness some revolution that will turn the world of Bitcoin diametrically, but I think that in the near future BTC will still be very strong.

Like anything bitcoin can be perceived to have no value and thus become worthless, I do not think this will ever occur though, even old currencies that are never used are still collected and have some value.

As we all know, investing in Bitcoin is risky and could lead to loss of money. Bitcoin may become worthless in the future due to many factors such as global ban or replacement by some other cryptocurrency. Time will tell us.

Yeah to be very optimistic for a thing and not working to protect it can be a dangerous thing. Btc can become worthless and we just need some ban from countries and big companies.

Anything is possible but I don't think bitcoin will be worthless soon. Nothing is eternal in this world, only time will decide. Someday, when the new and better technology will be found, bitcoin could get less attention and gone.

No, this question has been here for quite a lot of times and people are keep on asking it. The same questions like, bitcoin is dead, bitcoin is over, bitcoin is falling. I don't know people when you entered bitcoin, you are starting to become nervous on it.

yes, bitcoin can become worthless. bitcoin can become worthless when people and merchants refuse to take them as a means of exchange for goods and services rendered or when a government puts a complete ban on it. this is unlikely to happen though it is very possible

Crypto currency is unpredictable and considering every now and then new technology is also introduced we don't know what comes next but 1 thing is for sure if BTC will be worthless problably it would be the end of crypto currency all other coins will be worthless too considering BTC is the first and the most dominance crypto currency in the market today.

For me it no. Maybe history can tell but no one knows what is the future comes. If you see the tract of bitcoin from past until now, it tell to what will be happen in the future. Bitcoin experiencing  up's and down of value but it is not necessarily that bitcoin in the future have become worthless. If you look the track in market cap of bitcoin it shown how investor are welling to invest their money in bitcoin. In that way, bitcoin is continuously stronger and stronger because of the capitalization mode in the market. This track in the blockmarket or market cap will tell what will be the future of bitcoin.

I think bitcoins will not become worthless because many of us believe that currency has value and there is a finite number of bitcoins in existence. People are far more likely to trust bitcoins. So as long as many people believe and trust bitcoins, there is more chance that it will not worthless.

Theoretically it can, but personally I think this is very unlikely due to a good number of people in the crypto space that are really really dedicated to ensure bitcoin's success. Though I also think it only takes one sort of ban from a huge country like the United States to crash bitcoin's price to 3 or even 2 digits.

- just my 2 satoshis
I agree with what he said. Everything can happen to bitcoin, either increase or crash. No one can predict about what will happen in the future. What we are sure about is that there will be lots of changes from time to time but we don't know what will cause it. As long as there are a lot of people who believes in bitcoin and the different infrastructures around it, bitcoin will still remain.

Bitcoin crashes have recorded that bitcoins have become somewhat worthless before. So I think it is possible bitcoins may all of a sudden become worthless given that someday, some massive crash or some sort of catastrophic event happens to bitcoins' totality. But with a lot of people supporting bitcoins, I highly doubt it will happen.

Of course bitcoin will be worthless if bitcoin users have started to disappear or start switching using the latest digital currency that is considered better than bitcoin so it can make bitcoin prices go down and slowly become worthless. all that is not impossible if bitcoin not immediately improve the quality of transactions and lower transaction costs because it is considered too large what else to make transactions in small quantities.

I think yes, at somehow point it will be if many people that are users of it today will not even care of it in the future. I think bitcoin value is actually depend on the users on how they use bitcoin. I think bitcoin will be worthless if there we make it to the point that no one cares about bitcoin and it somehow will replace by another better and good cryptocurrency. But for me I think we will not reach that point because we all know that people nowadays are into bitcoin and it will never ever change, I guess.

Yes it can be possible for Bitcoin to become worthless. When the world goes against it and make it illegal to use then it will become nothing in no time. It is hard to predict if this will ever happen though.

Well there would be possible that it will be happened in the bear future if and only if there would be no users and investors. But I still believe that bitcoin will never be worthless since it was the most strongest crypto ever. Though there's a lot of people who regulate bitcoin but then again bitcoin will continue to rise

Bitcoin is just like fiat, its value depends on its user. Fiat has a value because the government says so, Bitcoin also has a value because the community says so. Meaning when the community decides that Bitcoin is worthless then Bitcoin is worthless. Old version of fiat becomes worthless because the government says so so the citizens believes them then the old version will be neglected. This would be a suitable analogy for the topic. Bitcoin can become worthless and it will depend on its community. Bitcoin's value is driven by the community so the value lies in its community.

Bitcoin is a solution for future money circulation. The form of digitizing currency is a new thing and Bitcoin was created to facilitate all the financial transactions we do. I am sure if one day Bitcoin can be accepted by all people in the world and most importantly Bitcoin is not owned by anyone, Bitcoin is a centralized financial system owned by us all.

Yes bitcoin can become worthless the day no one will buy it anymore, because it wouldn't have reached its purpose or because another currency will do better what bitcoin was first created for.
But bitcoin has the ability to evolve, we saw it recently with the first successful lightning network payment. So bitcoin still has value and will have more in the future.

I voted 'Yes', because it is a possibility if less and less people will use Bitcoin, then the value will drop. This is not so probable at this time though, but with Ripple potentially disrupting micro-transactions, it soon might be.

Bitcoin can be worthless but the odds are very small. Moreover, bitcoin is the first coin in cryptocurrency, its fanaticism is hard to beat by other altcoin.
Bitcoin becomes worthless if no one deals with it, in other words there is no demand and offer to it from all the people on earth, is it possible?

Thinking bitcoin could be worthless is like thinking it would be out of style. Bitcoin run through years. And as then years goed by, it is more open to the public. Some country's government even patronise bitcoin, so does in our which a news was shown yesterday about its good deeds. This news gave others an openness and interest to be involved. That's why I guess it would be really worthless to think it will be vanished.

This is probably true for the next 20 years. At the moment, Bitcoin is in the No. 1 spot in the cryptocurrency market, making it worthless is unlikely. At present, the demand for Bitcoin is still very popular. Everyone owns Bitcoin as a property for themselves rather than for the purchase of goods and goods. Again I believe that Bitcoin can only fall in exchange rates but not become worthless in the cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin will always have value due to its brand name and built-in scarcity. Actually, anything can theoretically lose all value, but I voted no based on very high probabilities. At bare minimum, assuming bitcoin is eclipsed, it will always have collectible value as the very first cryptocurrency.

There's no such thing that bitcoin will become worthless, because it is always the worthy one.

Lots of people starting to join bitcoin and giving their trust into it and wholeheartedly taking this up.

Because as much person joined varies the strength of bitcoin can be.

Bitcoin can become worthless one day. That idea alone actually scares many of my friends from investing into it. But it can also be worth millions in the future. No one knows for sure.

If the people behind bitcoin will give up and found another crypto. Yes bitcoin can become worthless. But I doubt its gonna happen soon. Bitcoin is still hot right now and more people are starting to use bitcoin.

No because we already experience the worth of it base on the value now and transaction all over the world the only need here is the name of it or authorization as a international money by the global government.I think also we need this in life base on the earnings and what you can learn from here. All we need now is to do study of it like the volatile price of it and the cycle, worthless is nowhere in crypto because we already risk if your here so it's positive not negative like buy and sell with volatile price of it.

if we talk about probability, then probability is always present, but there is no reason for this at the moment...therefore it is necessary to live now and use the opportunities given to us

User of bitcoin is now increasing and people are taking interest in bitcoin now so it is not able to be stopped ever as for fast and steady increase in bitcoin. Today price of bitcoin is high and it is increasing more when people are taking interest in it. I hope bitcoin will buy me a lot of things, if I will continue with it and will not even use my savings I am not afraid of bitcoin saving so does inventors, bitcoin will never be worthless for me.

You're right. No future is safe.
In my opinion, there is a future in the cryptocurrencies but I'm pretty sure this will not be a Bitcoin.

Of course BTC's can become worthless. Just about everything can, besides that which you need to live and survive. This however does not mean that BTC WILL become worthless.

Honestly I think that bitcoin will be stronger, too. Nowadays, there’s getting more and more people all over the world keep an eye on it and particularly, there are some countries having some store ,shop accepted bitcoin for transaction. It lead many of us to an interesting way to pay attention in bitcoin’s investment. Although bitcoin is really an old coin, it still gets viral and safe for us to invest. There even have many people predicted that bitcoin get a bright future and its potential. I don’t know whether it will be worthless or not, I still believe that bitcoin will always bring us profits.

It could become worthless, just like the us dollar could collapse and could become worthless. But I don't think we'll see it happen to bitcoin.

Just like anything in life, value comes from however much value society puts into something. This is true for all current currencies and best demonstrated with product pricing.

At first i was like what the heck, how can Bitcoin become worthless? But on a second thought, the possibility is high given a high powered cabal's manipulation & intervention aimed at clamping down the currency.

Like what you said there`s no body exactly can say hows bitcoin situation in the future but your opinion is good. bitcoin also will become worthless if there`s no body invest it and this is impossible because many people see the outcome of its in the past few months and there`s many new in bitcoin that they think that they can get profit so becoming worthless bitcoin for now is impossible.

It could happen, but not now or in the near future. We can see the main reason why there are a lot of investors going for bitcoin because of its high profitability. Once bitcoin is not much profitable anymore, we will see a decrease of interest to it.

Yeah but that seems so hypothetical because bitcoin is the real thing and the mainstream of digital currencies today. I believe, bitcoin can be worthless if we can turn the clock back before BITCOIN was launched.

Well for me theres a possibility. No one knows what will happen in the future. Or theres something big that will cause and affect the value of bitcoin to decrease exponentially. But if that really happen, we should find an alternative ways to replace the old ones. But maybe it will happen 30 years from now so we have a lot of time and enjoy the advantages of it for now.

Because bitcoin is decentralized no one controls, so bitcoin's worthiness depends on demand and demand also determines bitcoin prices, so bitcoin possible become worthless if there is a thing that makes no demand.

We cannot assume or presume that bitcoin would be worthless, this cryptocurrency always have negative news roaming everywhere to make this thing grow more stronger. If bitcoin become worthless, why Japan have accepted it? Japan is a role model for all the countries for their tremendous growth in all aspects including bitcoin acceptance. May be paper currency can be worth less in future but not bitcoin as per my prediction.

Absolutely correct. No one has the capability to predict what becomes of bitcoin in the future. But i am forced to lean on the positive side of future for bitcoin. This is because everyday, the developers work day and night to see how to make bitcoin better.

I think the people flow towards bitcoin is fast and growing so we can say that the bitcoin worth is more than the other currencies now because every is converting tall their funds into bitcoin and it is really helpful through this we can do what we want and in the advanced countries people are doing all their activities through the digital money like bitcoin and altcoins the market is expanded from country to countries.

Like any other digital currency, bitcoin can also become useless. This can even happen if bitcoin does not eliminate its shortcomings for a long time. People simply can stop using bitcoin and it will lose the demand and its value so that it becomes absolutely useless. I am amazed at bitcoin developers who have not been responding to his serious problems for a long time.

Absolutely, no one could predict its future. But still, we could not deny its promising features which has made it unique free from inflation, free from government control, free from inflation. Even its most critics wall street companies have started to enter in to bitcoin market which proves its potential.

I don't think so. Bitcoin is not becoming worth anymore, it's getting more credible and profitable day by day. not only that but also Bitcoin is becoming a popular currency system nowadays. so that there is no chance to get worth. I think day after day Bitcoin is becoming a dominating factor in the money market. so how could you think that Bitcoin is going to become worthless?

In my opinion its very possible because the worth of bitcoin is depending on people who consumes or trades it but if theres no one in the world uses this bitcoin then it could be worthless but we cant be sure if that really happens i hope not

I don't think so. Bitcoin is not going to worthless anymore. day by day Bitcoin is gaining ground and it's becoming a fundamental platform for the capital market. I have a strong belief that Bitcoin is going to dominate the financial market. Though the money is the main thing so that Bitcoin will be one of the great factors of the money market.
the thing is that Bitcoin is becoming a profitable and credible platform day by day so that Bitcoin will not become worthless in the future.

maybe, but no one knows what the future will be like, whether bitcoin is still or not in the future. which is obvious for now bitcoin is growing, and we can enjoy the results.
I can only hope that it does not happen, because I think bitcoin can be a substitute for currency as a legal means of payment.
