My issue is the overall price,$3,000-8,000 to "enter the market"     Sorry,I'm a poor SOB,give me something for a few hundred or even just $1000..................this goes for all vendors   

The time has come for all good individuals to come to the realization that "cooperative" mining is your next best bet if you want to keep playing.

there are usb sticks in the $100-200 price range (that arent economic and are just for fun).

but alas, the cost of mining gear is pricey because it involves custom chips, controller boards, power supplies, boxes, fans etc etc.  so this isnt cheap gear.

but you will find something cheap but not from knc, hashfast or cointerra as these guys are focussing on powerful mining gear.

i suggest you invest in mining stocks.. that way you can own equity in bigger mining operations. e.g.: Peta Mine (for cointerra mining) or IceDrill (for hashfast mining)

It not so much that,as the offerings are 400GH +,give us a 100GH miner or even,dare I say it a 50GH miner.So us little folk can get in for a reasonable price range  

Also these 3 board setups are just crazy!! A miner card,backplane & raspi with a 25GH miner(gotta have it or it won't function)?? Just to save a wire cluster..........more fail points IMO..........

Keep it simple,the old fashioned USB & standard ATX PSU plugs are fine...& the custom miner software....pfft....CGminer/BFGminer are great & easy & most of us have used them forever.

While I'm ranting/venting,custom cases?? Just more money to spend & have to earn back,AFAIK......  

Just looking for "affordable","barebones" mining equipment.I know,I'm just one single moron    The ASIC companies can still offer those things,just give the option to opt out of them...........

That's one reason I went with the Klondike/Steamboat & Drillbit systems,simple,no frills hardware

The price for December appears to be the same?  Having a price drop of 50% the following month shows much the difficulty will rocket and not sure if a 50+% drop is enough to make up the 50+% jump in difficulty.  Without better dates (When in December/January) these prices are too high for me and too far away.

A 1.78% discount for pre-ordering 5 expensive rigs is weak.

Edit: 10% off a January 5 pack with a solid delivery date might be worth considering given the enormous risks involved.

The sad thing is I don't think it is a scam but the lack of any technical information at all means you would just be buying on faith.  At least competitors provide some technical details.  There is absolutely no details provided.

Bitfury sells naked boards.  You can use your own pi and connect as many boards as you want to it.  In the long run using the backplane likely makes sense but you can buy a single 25 GH/s hashing board and nothing else.

We are excited to announce our second batch of specialized ASIC mining equipment for early January 2014 delivery.

There is a new product that is being launched in the January batch, the 1 TH/s TerraMiner II, which sells for $3499.

There is also the TerraMiner IV retailing for $5999 in the January batch. That makes it the first mining equipment to break the $3 per Gigahash barrier!

Both products feature CoinTerra's 500 GH/s GoldStrike1 chip, which is already the fastest chip announced in the Bitcoin market. Physical Design results for GoldStrike1 show that some of these chips can perform as high as 700 Gh/s. There is a possibility that at the time of delivery customers may be offered an option to upgrade their TerraMiner for a small fee, further lowering the cost per Gigahash.

I actually think that based on these numbers the January batch is likely to be more profitable. I for one was expecting those types of prices for their original units. It's not clear that difficulty will jump enough from December to January to justify such a discrepancy.

What does "Networked Miner" mean?

An external computer isn't needed to connect the miner to. It runs a web server for configuration/etc and you just plug it into your network.
