FYI you don't need to login to your MEW to check your funds. If that's all you want to do I suggest you just use etherscan and search your address so that you minimise any risk and only open MEW to transfer money.

Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?
Do you have your private keys written somewhere on your computer? If only on paper and usb then definitely no. If there's a file where it's all written then it could've been hacked, but only while you have access to the Internet, I guess. As your pc broke, I think it's very unlikely. Yet, the last thing you mention, parity stuff, - nobody is safe from that, since that's not scamming or anything but problems with eth code and that's always a danger to one's funds in eth. But don't worry, mew is the best eth wallet, I think it's the safest place for your money anyway.

Your wallet is fine as long as you keep your private key and din't expose it in the internet. JSON file is also a good alternative just in case you lost your private key but make sure you know the password that you make in your JSON file.

Of course there is a possibility that your ether wallet can be hacked especially if you are not responsible for your security. All you have to do is keep in mind that no one knows your private key because if they find that they have access to your wallet and they can steal your tokens in your wallet

As I been told by a really talented IT specialist: anything might be hacked but mostly nobody cares about that. Also the hackers should spend too much resources on that so it's not comparable with the profit of hacking.

Keep your private keys safe and you will be OK. Bookmark the real site and always open it up from your bookmarks. Never open a link in email!

Your MEW was possible to hacked if you can't secured your wallet from the Intruders, moreover it is possibly to hacked if you discuss your personal information to the others. MYETHER wallet is high security but if you can't take care your account there's a tendency to steal it. Other than that don't used password that connected to your personal life, to avoid guessing your password.

It is not easily possible to hack myetherwallet without a private key and if you have store your private key in a safer place where only you can access that, then there is no chance of hacking of your account.

I believe that it can still be hacked considering the fact that many wallets have been hacked before even though the private keys were not shared at all. It would be best to spread out your ETH in different wallets, much better if you can afford a hardware wallet.

If your private key was display or possible to get i think the possibility is very high, also thete is no impossible for hacker even you keep your key in safe place they can able to hacked your wallet. But much better to double care for your private keys and dont put big money in online wallet because it is very risky.

Can anyone recommend some good hardware wallets to keep Ethereum and Bitcoin? Do Bitcoin wallets also carry the capacity to store Bitcoin Cash?

I'd say you already took the most important steps to secure your funds, so you should be just fine. However, some comments here got me thinking - is it really dangerous to check the wallet on MEW using mostly the private key? Hmmm.

the safest wallet is the offline wallet but there is still a risk that if the pc where you keep the offline wallet is destroyed then you can not do anything, print the wallet on a old printer with no internet connexion and no memory, then you can still lose the paper, so there is no safe, there is always a risk

Myetherwallet are safe to use. It is not easy to hacked. Until your private key still safe no one can get your coin.
