It's times like this when you wish the difficulty changed every block.  Undecided

why do you see big problems with a per block diff algo ?

i'm asking genuinely , do you think that brings instability ?

also how do you feel about the GLX system? where by it scans the last 10 blocks - it jumps pretty radically.

But that could take a few weeks at the current rate!! :-(

A bounty for attract some high hash rate for a few days??

Cheers
 MC

Did anyone check what was happened yesterday, is everything ok in blockchain?
Was that attack when network hashrate was so high or it was just someone with 1GH/s?

Block 7790 is fine, it is just that the big miner has gone and the rest of the mining power has to adjust to the high difficulty. As soon as it passes the 72 block threshold the network will return back to normal.

At the moment the EXC chain has nearly stopped due to the high difficulty and low network hashrate. We all need to start mining this coin again, I am going to mine with everything too.

By tonight I will have everything I have pointed at mining this coin and then might consider an urgent update to possible reduce the retarget time.

Hi,
My little horse is pointing that way...

I think that under normal circumstances the retarged time is fine.

I would put in some kind of alarm of the type, if a block takes more than 12 hours, retarget...

cheers

That is a wonderful idea my MC and i might add that to the updated client release ready for the reward drop.

It's not cool with this spikes. A lot of coins get hurt. That's why i hate auto switching pools to mine "shit". It's not profitable for anyone cause you retarget the diff too fast so you ain't getting that much coins...rather mine steadily one coin per 24 hrs than 5 type of coins in 5 minutes. You get enough coins and bigger chances for a coin to succeed meaning more profit.  You=crypto community.

This I totally agree with. Its called coin community support and no Crypto can survive without it.

A friend of mine from london uk once told me" never go for the fast pound. Go for the slow penny and you definitly get rich. That's why i don't like this gold rush with auto switching. They all say they want cryptos. No more banks and bla bla bla. But they want quick cash and jump from coin to coin like a bunny Smiley don't worry guys. In ~2 yrs when i will be filthy rich i will be sorry for you for not standing up for the crypto world.

Well we found three blocks last night so we are getting there.

I am going to sort out adding some code, so if it takes too long to find a block it auto adjusts the difficulty, I think.

Hey how's the client update coming along? I saw the new logos on the other forum (https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1165-new-icon-and-banner-bounty-image-1000-exc/), they look pretty good. Are you going to incorporate them?

Also was thinking it might be good to put an update on http://extremecoin.org/ explaining whats happened with the hash rate / diff and your plans to resolve.

Keep up the good work!  Smiley
