Longer and slower difficulty increase?
I would have a good read up on Megacoin and its diff. algo. the Kimoto Gravity Well. 12 other coins have adopted it since it's release and it works like a charm.

I am also looking at a few other coins too, it's good to compare the codes. I am working on Extremecoin Version 1.4 right now and it will be released by the end of this weekend, along with a full website redesign. Just wanted to keep everyone informed. Thanks.

Just to get the difficulty under control as it has risen to an extreme high, I will be releasing Version 1.4 that just has the difficulty fixed with as simple as possible code.
Once everyone has got the new client and the mining difficulty has settled and is steady, then we can plan the next update with extra features in the client.

Due to the now extreme difficulty of 129 currency for EXC, the client code is going to have a few more basic changes, to get that difficulty dropped down to a sensible level, after which regular and stable mining increases will happen from then onwards.
Will post more updates as soon as they happen.

Glad yo see EXC is progressing. Whilst I understand the drive to keep the fix simple will multipools end up pushing the difficulty way up when the coins becomes profitable to mine again? What did you conclude on the addition of the KGW?

The plan is to have Kimoto Gravity Well implemented in Version 1.5 once the difficulty has been stabilised and when most if not all users have updated to Version 1.4, to reduce the chances of any problems.

Fix is released and website updated, all looking good Can we have a dump of EXC network stats? (global hash rate, difficulty, total blocks and an idea of transaction times etc...) as PoolWarz's diff. value looks to be incorrect and my wallet is inaccessible to me for the next 24 hours...

On my work laptop right now but the difficulty is stuck at 519 right now, the new difficulty re-target code kicks in on the very next block so the more people that can help out and mine EXC on CoinEX the quicker the blockchain can get back to a normal and more stable difficulty.
Myself and a user on there have been mining for a day so far, with another day needed to solved the block based on average hashing luck. I am in the process of setting up my other mining rigs to mine on EXC too.
When I get back home I will post the current details of the chain etc.
Once the difficulty has settled and most people have upgraded, then I will starting looking at V 1.5, push for services and additional developers.

Changes for Version 1.4 : 2 minute blocks still but now with a difficulty switch, so if a block takes too long to mine the difficulty is reduced and if mined to quickly since the last block, it increases *2. This means that transactions / confirmations will always remain extremely fast which is a must for a currency. This upgrade is mandatory, all previous version will not be able to mine blocks. You can only mine with version 1.4 Windows client : https://www.dropbox.com/s/o9sfjos89xf65u0/Extremecoin_V_1.4.rarSource Code : https://github.com/CaptChadd/Extremecoin

I think it forked. CoinEx pool is only on block 22039, block explorer and CaptChadd's node have 22437 blocks

Yes it was suppose to fork, as 1.4 has a new difficulty retarget method, the old one kept making the difficulty go stupidly high.
CoinEX has emailed me back and they have upgraded to 1.4, same with CoinWarz, just waiting to hear back from BTER.com.

CoinEx is on a different fork than the block explorer and seed node.

Totally right, they even asked for the seednode and I gave them it. The blockchain has now synced to their pool and the seednode has reverted back to it. Have a few generated not accepted in my client now. This is the problem of having just one main pool.
