It was not a bad idea to order it from the 1st batch.   So, how much do you guys earn per day now?  Or earned last month?  Smiley

Have theory that A3 was build on D3  and this is the reason some A3 (including mine) have problems with hash boards - appears/disappears, hashing/no hashing, all asics few only and then turning 0000 into xxxx...

Nothing is helping to solve: rebooting, restarting, resetting, plugging / unplugging, each by one, separately, adding two AWP++ , changing controller cables 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4  Even flashing ( thank you blissz) - NOTHING

But funny my D3 with A3 firmware turns into A3 miner, even connects to the SIA pool, but not hashing and after moment all asics turns xxxx

This suggest than  sia network or "brick attack" on 24th is not the real problem. The real is that bitmain cleaned D3 stock transforming them into A3 thought

____  NOW the funny moment. If/when somebody finds out hot to avoid that wall  to make D3 (with A3 firmware) hashing on SIA network.... Smiley  ....... ALL D3 would finally be able to deliver ROI

Actually been working this angle, have a pretty good idea of what makes a miner a D3 or and A3, but i need a D3 to test or someone with a D3 to send me some data to try to turn my A3 into a D3.

There's pretty good reasons for bitmain to do something like this if they could. It would massively increase profits for them to have a ASIC chip that could be re-seeded to different algos.

Also if you want to dump firmware the bitmain way...

nanddump -f /initramfs.bin.SD /dev/mtd8
nanddump -f /am335x-boneblack-bitmainer.dtb /dev/mtd6
nanddump -f /uImage.bin /dev/mtd7
nanddump -f /u-boot.img /dev/mtd4

You'll have to hex edit those files afterwards and remove the trailing FF's to make them exactly like bitmain sends them out.

Hi!

I have read that you are working for convert your A3 in a D3.

Have you been able to advance something?.

Best regards!.

Hello,

What strategy are you following with sia coins?, are you holding them or are you trading to BTC?.

Best regards.

Holding for now
Really not selling any but I think my ideal strategy will be hold a percent,  swap some for other coins to hold to diversify, and sell some to pay for mining power ...

Hi!, your proposal is interesting. I have everything still in altcoins, but I think that we would have to sell something to make a profit and pay for mining power. What method do you use to convert it to USD?

Regards!.

Send me a link with instructions on how to make the dump and I'll get it for you. I have 2 D3's and 6 A3's. I also flashed the D3's with the firmware for the A3's and after a few minutes the board went to all XXXX. I ended up flashing the D3's with the blissz firmware.

Depending on where you live an exchange like Kraken or Coinbase (GDAX) would be an option for trading fiat currency for bitcoin and selling bitcoin for fiat currency.

If it's the Bitmain APW PSU, then the simple answer is NO.  Not unless you want max out the psu and potential burn your unit down.  It will run, I tried it for a couple of days... but the hash rate and amp draw will be swinging all over the place.   For a stable draw you need a 220v circuit OR a PSU rated to deliver 1400W+ at 110v.

Don't risk it.

I ran my A3 overclocked at 930 Gh/s average for over one month with (low hardware errors under 2k/day per board)

I used 120V power on APW3++ and it worked like a charm!
Temperatures averaged around 62-65C for boards and outside room temps were between 60F-80F

I would say bitmain's PSU is stronger than it seems and does work well!

930 GH ?!?

Oh my God, you sure? What frequency you use for it? Mine are running at 550 Gh with 90-94 degrees Celsius on chips and 70-75 on boards.  It's true, it's a pretty hot ambient too.
But 930 Gh.....

Boney, can you please share your configuration

Also, the firmware that the A3 has, does it have the option of adjusting the speed of the fans?
the S9 does not have it but in S3 & S7 the option exist

thanks

This is a dangerous example, since overloading the power supply may end up breaking it.

The input circuit in the APW3++ is designed to be able to handle max. 1200W at 110-120V and max. 1600W at 220-240V mains voltage.
