You say that a forum member needs to talk just about bitcoin. Yes, bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and turned the world upside down. But all becomes outdated and there are new altcoins who are changing the world of cryptocurrency for the better. Bitcoin uses POW algorithm and a long transaction, it is now becoming unprofitable and many understand it.
About gaining merit. I believe that the main reason for the introduction of merit is the limitation of the number of participants in the bounty companies. Users want to increase their rank just to earn more than now and it's normal. The merit that will be presented by you will still be used for earnings on bounty companies, that is, for earnings on altcoins. I understand you were one of the first members who created and supported this forum and you certainly deserve respect, but the capitalization of altcoins is growing and more and more people trust them and want somehow to capitalize on this.

I agree with you about altcoins. Iíve said before that altcoins have a place and theymos rightly gave them a section to brainstorm and foster a sense of community. You have to understand Iím not this forum, I donít work here, Iím not a moderator or administrator. I donít make money here and I support bitcoin. The people in this thread are asking me for merit, they are not asking the forum for merit. There are people in the altcoin section giving out merit.

You donít understand the issues concerning bitcoin or how to correct them. PoW does not make bitcoin unprofitable. PoW is simply a method of generating new coins and securing the network. PoS, while more environmentally friendly, allows a few empowered stakeholders to lord over the masses (even with randomization). Bitcoinís blockchain doesnít need to be as long and unwieldy as it is. SPV clients solve that issue as will eventual pruning. Bitcoinís temporally high transaction fees and long block times will eventually be solved by increasing the block size or with a second layer solution. I suppose Iím the kind of person that would prefer to fix whatís already working and established rather than chucking it all out and starting over.

I donít speak your language so itís impossible for me to look at your entire post history. The posts you directed me to are broken English but I get the idea of what your trying to say. I appreciate your attempt to integrate into the larger forum by posting in English and that is a good way to learn a second language. Iím going to give you 5 because I donít know how people in the local subs are ever going to rank up.

It would be great if you can ask me some questions. I don't want merits because I will be legendary any time soon and I have enough merits, I'd just like some Q/A session about bitcoin, which would atleast make me learn some new things. If I do qualify give the merits to some other member who really needs it. Am hyped about this.

You easily qualify. Youíre obviously older than the average poster here and more seasoned. Youíre all over the forum in every section. I would expect you to learn everything you need to know through research. 20 merit awarded.

You da man. I appreciate you. I'm going to be honest and say that I was very much looking forward to the question, but it's flattering to be pushed past that and be acknowledged for the merit. I'm going to read more of the previous questions/answers so that I can soak up some information. This will help me keep my Post-Review for Merit thread running.

It would be great if you can ask me some questions. I'd just like some Q/A session about bitcoin, which would atleast make me learn some new things.

That's really funny, because I'm interested in the same thing; I want to be challenged. Pugman, since OP only has so much time and there are so many other members that would benefit from their time, maybe you and I should start a thread where we ask members Q & A; this would mean we would have to do extensive research, but it might be fun for those that are actually interested in discussing bitcoin on a much more nuanced and informative level. We would have to think of the questions, maybe QuestionAuthority would throw us a bone now and then, but I'm not sure what our incentive would be to bring people into the thread other than stimulating conversation (which should be enough, anyways).

I think thatís an excellent idea. Iím really trying not to clutter this thread with too much unnecessary chatter for fear I will miss someone thatís here for merit.

Iíll throw you a bone. LOL  You could ask things like, ďWhat is bitcoinís Mempool? What does it do, what is held there and where is itís physical location on the network?Ē

Maybe you could do something like give a merit for the first correct answer.

I'm not applying because I don't really care about becoming a Hero. If I was I would have been more consistently active over the last 5 years. I just wanted to say good on you for recognising it's the higher up members that just missed out on ranking up that it hurts the most. From having a few days or weeks to suddenly looking at probably years to get 250 or 500 more merits.
I also do not care so much to become Legendary, but see, we both participate in signature campaigns and yesterday it appeared the one, which requre some necessary number of merits to participate. I am afraid it is going to be normal practice in nearly future. i just hope till that time I will be able to collect at least 50 Merits to such participation become possible to me.

I think gambling is too important for the bitcoin ecosystem, The most of casinos sites are too rich with bitcoin, so This is expected if you see in time that gambling could be as much as 50% of the daily transactions of bitcoin. In addition, I think that a lot of members in the bitcoin community are gamblers, and liked to gamble with cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin instead of gambling with fiat. They can easily access to gambling sites without any restrictions that can found in casinos and gambling site which accept only fiat.
Sorry for the late reply.

Because you donít have much post history Iím going to split the amount and give you 10 merit. If you continue to participate in bitcoin discussions and pry yourself out of the gambling sub, you should be able to rank up before you reach enough activity. Youíre going to need to become more involved and post more.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will try my best in the upcoming days to post more and become more involved in the forum. You are so kind person.

I donít have much Merit to give but Iím going to give it up until itís all gone. Iím not sure if this is the right section for this thread because Iím not really selling anything. Itís about accounts so Iíll just leave it here until someone decides to move it. I donít know if this is wrong to do. I donít care if I get negative trust for doing this because I donít buy anything here, sell anything here, join signature campaigns or post routinely in threads that even show the trust rating. Essentially I donít make money here so I donít use trust anyway.

I felt sorry for SOME of the members that posted in the merit thread. They seemed to be fairly articulate, fairly knowledgeable, rational and really trying to be members of this group of dreamers (community).

Hereís how itís going to work. Youíre not just going to beg for merit and I give it. Do not PM me and offer to pay me for merit points. Your money means nothing to me. I have given away more bitcoin than you will likely earn while on this forum (just ask Gleb Gamow if you donít believe me). I will report you to a mod that will give you negative trust for being a potential scammer. You will ask me to research your post history and direct me to 10-20 posts that you believe show you have a deep desire to learn about, use, and support bitcoin. I will then ask you a couple of questions about how bitcoin works and you will answer them. I donít care if you take some time to research the answer if you come up with the correct answer. That just means Iíve made you learn more about bitcoin than you knew previously.

Bitcoin does not mean altcoin. I know altcoins are more popular on this forum than bitcoin. I donít care. I will only help bitcoiners level up. If most of your post history is in altcoin threads I wonít help you. I do not consider Bitcoin Cash to be bitcoin. If you donít know what the real bitcoin is then you havenít been here long enough for me to help you. Which leads me to the group Iím willing to help.

New members, Newbies, Jr Members and Members donít need any merit. They donít have enough post history to judge so I wonít be helping them.

Full members, Sr. Members and Hero Members really got screwed with the merit system. Some of them were really close to leveling up and now have to wait until theyíve impressed the right person to probably get only one merit point from them. The most extreme case of this is Hero Member. They may need hundreds of merit points to level up which could take a very long time to get.

You will be working for 20 merit points. Good luck to all. I will announce when theyíre gone and lock the thread.

If you don't care about the things i care about, just go away..
Wow! How..er..um..Legendary?
Sheesh.

I still believe this is a bitcoin forum. When I first came to this forum there were no altcoins. I believe every time another altcoin is born it dilutes bitcoins user base slightly. You are asking me to give you something for free. You're not paying so you canít modify the rules. Maybe someone in the altcoin section will do the same thing someday. If you borrow my car for free instead of renting it you canít bitch because I wonít let you smoke cigarettes in it.

I am a believe in alt coin. So i believe this trend will continue to grow bigger. I mean bitcoin has first mover advantage but there is need for the existence of many other alt coin that alt coin can do and bitcoin cant. I can talk with the whole afternoon about the different alt coin but this is something that we have to accept and learn how to move on with it. Bitcoin is diluted but that does not mean bitcoin is not good.

I gave you a merit point.

I think you are correct .

I do not think the op is correct to exclude altcoin and reward bitcoin .  But I also think he is entitled to give his points anyway he wants since the points are his to give. Meanwhile enjoy the merit.

I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net...
I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

Sheesh.

I gave you a merit point.

I think you are correct .

I do not think the op is correct to exclude altcoin and reward bitcoin .  But I also think he is entitled to give his points anyway he wants since the points are his to give. Meanwhile enjoy the merit.

Iíve said before in this thread that I donít know enough about altcoins to be able to judge the quality of their participation but you do. I would love to see one of these type threads start in the altcoin section and one in each local sub for non English speaking people.

Why donít you start a thread in altcoin discussion since youíve been a core altcoin person for a long time? It would be a great service to your community and it would help people become involved in altcoins. Or, if not you, maybe you know someone that could do it.

I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net...
I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

this OP is the way how to show professional courtesy to others, i can't even judge if this merit feature is fair or unfair till it gets to the point that it is needed to rank up, well everybody is picky to add some merit but what else can a normal person complain, None. Just better work with their asses off. i was also not hoping that i'll get merits from other people i just feel happy about it, i was able to ask billgator to toss me some merit to the link post i had given From the thread he Created and he gave me one and i feel happy about it. well i really want to be a Sr.member if i could. (how i wish) but still im  happy because i have known so many Informations here in this forum that educates me about crypto. i was also a wanderer before  on how to invest my money to earn some profit online looking for legit informations  then from time to time i have learnt how to invest in crypto and thats how im being thankful.  now it doesn't matter to me how many merit will i get. what matters to me now is how can i handle things if i reach the pinnacle of success and become rich with CRYPTO. rank doesn't matter. if you acquire information Money does Matter Cheesy

You should have the time to read their OP or you really probably don't deserve their time or merit; would you say that's fair?

It is very clear what the rules/expectations are in the OP. I would answer more directly, but all I would do is quote OP entirely.

I already read the OP and here is his/her statement:
Quote
You will ask me to research your post history and direct me to 10-20 posts that you believe show you have a deep desire to learn about, use, and support bitcoin. I will then ask you a couple of questions about how bitcoin works and you will answer them. I donít care if you take some time to research the answer if you come up with the correct answer.

From this I can understand that he will search our post history by himeself but most of the people are posting their links to their posts includes you thats why I asked like that bro.

Youíre right, I do look at all of your post history. I ask you to list posts that you feel deserve merit because you may need help understanding what is valuable enough to receive merit. If you canít figure out how to post effectively you will never receive any merit other than what I give you in this thread. Iím not giving away enough for anyone to rank up without additional work.

You are an example of this concept. Your posting style is either very fast and you donít spend enough time reviewing or English is a second language for you. You will need your average post to become more intelligible in order to rank up.

You say repeatedly that bitcoin is the ďking of cryptoĒ so I know you appreciate bitcoin but you are very much an altcoin supporter. I believe you primarily came here to make money but are attempting to really participate in discussions, at least in the altcoin sections. Iím afraid I canít award you merit right now. Youíre going to need a little more history before I can help you.
Thank you for giving your worthy time to reviewing my posts. Smiley
Yeah english is not my native language but I can say that I am really good at speaking in english because I am an graduate from one of the top university in the world.Yeah,I agree that I am still rookie in the crypto world.
Yes,I know bitcoin is the king of crypto and it will be forever(in my opinion). But I support altcoins too because it is also important for the future of bitcoin,if bitcoin is the only crypto made then it will become unusable due to high demand, like what happend at end of 2017 high trnasaction fee and days to wait to get a confirmed transaction.
Yeah I will contribute all the way because I have more free time to spend on the forum than before and I am not really concentrating on getting merits. But I would like to participate in the Q/A,I hope I can answer it and get some merits. Smiley
